CBS Interactive, iWidgets Go Social Networking
Broadcast network's interactive unit, widget creator team up to create CBS widget for Facebook, MySpace, other sites.

CBS Interactive and widget creator iWidgets are teaming up to create a CBS widget for social-networking platforms.

The widget will enable users of Facebook, MySpace and other sites to embed full episodes of a number of CBS shows within their profiles or in their blogs. Other features will include the ability to share and rate episodes, as well as to participate in polls and contests.

At launch, the shows available for viewing will include the three incarnations of CSI, The Amazing Race, NCIS and Numb3rs.  :sucks

"We're always looking for new ways to let our fans engage with their favorite CBS TV shows," said Anthony Soohoo, senior vice president and general manager for CBS Interactive. "By socially syndicating CBS content with iWidgets, CBS fans can now customize their Facebook and MySpace pages with content from shows like CSI, Survivor and NCIS. This allows them to share their favorite episodes with friends, as well as invite their friends to participate in interactive polls and contests."

The two companies will formally unveil the widget at the DEMOfall ’08 Conference in San Diego Tuesday.

gingerman28:
I watched a lot of TV on CBS over the last three days (football, tennis, everything except Battle of the Bums) and did not spot even one little PinP promo clip for TAR.  Lots of plugs for new shows starting i n September.  Lots for Survivor.  But zip, nada, nothing for TAR.  Maybe I missed one when I was blinking, but certainly not much of anything.  Has CBS given up on their Five-Time (soon to be Six-Time) Emmy winning show? :duno:

When I tell you that I sat thru 24hours of recorded video yesterday Gman, I kid you not, I saw plenty of TAR commercials, no pips, but what I did see was the same as we've already seen. Tonight ot Thursday we might get something new during BB, like I said "might"

The Amazing Race

8-9PM · CBS · Returns Sept. 28

The latest locales where racers will amaze are La Paz, Bolivia — with a mildly challenging altitude of 14,000 feet — and the Cambodian ruins of Angkor Wat. Teams include two competitive Texas divorcées, married Oregon hippies, a separated couple trying to get their marriage back on track (hmmm...what a non-stressful environment for healing), and two strangely unsavvy twentysomething dudes. ''They're so smart and they make such dumb moves, it's ridiculous,'' says exec producer Bertram van Munster. ''Sometimes the smarter you are, the more difficult it is to go around the world.''

You mean, Puddin, that I will have to suffer  :'( through BumblingBums  :pull  to actually see a TAR promo on the air (:;)  Perish the thought :'(

gingerman28:
But hopefully CBS will get on the ball and get TAR13 off to a rousing start :yess:
