Since I aggressively cannot sleep at present, here's a route:

START: Villa Vizcaya, Miami, Florida (true story - for this route to work I needed a Miami start so I just found the first possible reasonably private place for a start line. The European inspired gardens are perfect since that's the closest this race is getting to Europe *snerk*)
Leg 1: Jau National Park, Brazil (how is it we haven't had an Amazon leg yet? Lots of flora, orienteering, the occasional animal or two and ONLY two for...reasons, a lesson on conversation, what more would you want?)
Leg 2: Manaus, Brazil (in the 25 seasons of The Amazing Race, we've had exactly *7* legs in Brazil, with 5 full legs and 2 half legs taking place in major cities and yet ALL OF THEM WERE BLAH)
Leg 3: Cape Town, South Africa (apologies for the TAR 2 teas but it's seriously been 18 seasons since visiting South Africa despite how safe and culturally rich it is, mainly so we could have horrid legs in Switzerland. Tasks involving sailing, wine, and a township of some sort)
Leg 4: Livingstone, Zambia via Harare, Zimbabwe and Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe (my idea is a Detour involving social consciousness in Harare, then charter flights to a ~mystery destination~ revealed to be Victoria Falls where there is absolutely references to 'smoke that thunders', a trip to the casino because there needs to be some form of stratification post-flights and an ostrich egg-eating RB)
Leg 5: Petra National Park, Jordan (if I say it enough times maybe WRP will go there  :( bonus - camels)
Leg 6: Alexandria, Egypt (so there are definitely parts of Egypt that are Not Safe but there are substantially less grumblings about unrest in Alexandria which is great since there's a giant library that's just begging to be searched there)
Leg 7: Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan (I may or may not have been on Sporcle recently but STILL Central Asia is severely lacking in legs. bonus - falcons maybe? i think so)
Leg 8: Hubei Province, China (more accurately, a leg in Wuhei and a pitstop at the Three Gorges Dam)
Leg 9: Chengdu, China (if I say it enough times maybe WRP will go there  :( bonus - pandas and hot pot)
Leg 10: Melbourne, Australia (nighttime leg! featuring rugby players, alcohol and hopefully hipster wine producer / morose former Survivor contestant Sierra Reed as a greeter  :luvya:
Leg 11: Savaii island, Samoa (I didn't initially dream this up to be 'Survivor's greatest hits' but references to Robert Louis Stevenson, actual racing on one of the beaches used in Survivor 19/20 and a Pit Stop at the blowholes used as a reward on 20 kind of all fell into place. bonus - turtles)
Leg 12: Vikingsholm, Lake Tahoe, California (you might be wondering 'what could you do on a lake in the middle of nowhere in winter?' well...)

Show contentLeg 12 (Samoa → United States of America)
• Apia (Faleolo Airport) to Reno, Nevada, USA (Reno-Tahoe International Airport)
• South Lake Tahoe, California (Heavenly Ski Resort) (DETOUR – Linear or Parabolic)
• Incline Village, Nevada (Diamond Peak Ski Resort – Base Lodge)
• Olympic Valley, California (Squaw Valley Adventure Center)
• Olympic Valley (Squaw Valley Resort) (ROADBLOCK – Who can stay on course?)
• Truckee (Tahoe Donner Cross Country Ski Area)
• Tahoma (Vikingsholm) (FINISH LINE)

In this leg's Detour, teams chose between Linear and Parabolic. In Linear, teams traveled to the top of one of the ski slopes and, after learning the basics, skied downhill, aiming to complete the course within 1 minute of each other to receive their next clue. In Parabolic, teams traveled to a marked half pipe and, after learning the basics of snowboarding, tried to balance on a series of 6 spots (3 spots each) of the half pipe to receive their next clue. In the Roadblock of this leg, one team member, using the same method of transport they used in the Detour, to navigate a slalom course following a path of flags in the order that they visited the corresponding countries. If they were successful, they would receive their next clue however if not, they would have to wait for any queued racers to attempt the task before trying again.

Additional Tasks

* At Diamond Peak's lodge, teams had to work as baristas for the lodge, taking and filling drink orders for the waiting guests. Once 50 people approved of their creations the barista supervisor would give them their next clue.
* After completing the task at the lodge, teams were instructed to find the site of the 1960 Winter Olympics, which they had to figure out was the Squaw Valley Resort
* At the Adventure Center, teams took part in a tandem indoor rock climb, with team members connected with a paper strip roughly 5 feet in length. Each team member would have to climb to the top to get half of their next clue however if they broke the paper strip, they would have to go back down to get a new one before starting again.[li]At Tahoe Donner, teams received a (product placed) smartphone, taking photos of 8 animals (cutouts, like the 'Brains' Detour in 22) they encountered during the race in some capacity in order (frog, crocodile, ostrich via egg, camel, falcon, panda, lamb via hot pot, and turtle). If correct they would receive their final clue.
[/li][/list]

...basically we've never had a full "wintry" final leg in the post-TAR 12 era as opposed to two overtly tropical legs (14, 20) and one wilderness leg that occurred in summer (23). A final leg Detour, two tasks that test teamwork and multiple memory tasks  :colors. The flag task is fairly easy with respect to memorization - one can assume teams will be given flags throughout the season - since the trust test will be of coordination, plus it hides the actively daunting memory task with the animals.

This incidentally was not my planned entry for that final challenge for that DC that I played in that one time or anything buuuuuut if it was I'd feel good about placing third <3

Tough to find a flight from Manaus to South Africa...  ???

There are plenty of flights from Manaus to Sao Paulo, where teams can take a daily Sao Paulo - Johannesburg flight (also seen in TAR 7 and 11) and then connect to one of many flights from Johannesburg to Cape Town.

Or if it's on the day where the Sao Paulo - Johannesburg flight doesn't operate then...I guess have a special two hour episode with the first hour being people trying to get out of Brazil <3
