Shel is talking about her ex, how they talk and text each other every single day.

Shel is going on about having changed being in here and she wants something better for her and her son. Even if she doesn't win the money she wants something different. She would love to win the money, but if she doesn't it doesn't matter, she wants to change her life. She is going to work really hard on her book and wants things to pan out on the things that she has had in the works for a while.

She's talking about her son's father, then begins talking about her ex. He was born in Finland and is 42, a singer in a band. It is not clear that she is talking about her son's father as being her ex. (Edit to add a better clip.)
