MamaTo4boys:
I just think the girl had to have known she was allergic to peanuts.

Maybe there was some kind of funky stuff on the peanuts since they were used for something else. YUCK. For all she knows people could've peed on them, why in the heck would you eat it off the ground. *says the person who ate rock salt on a dare before*

:jumpy: I ate a mothball and downed a bottle of baby asprin when I was a kid --and so it began

No kidding! And what are the odds that the first peanut she ever decides to eat was laying on the ground? If they never appealed to her before, why all of a sudden that one just started calling"You must eat me!"to her?

Okay guys--medical commentary here.

I am surprised that Amanda is back so soon--I too think she wasn't breathing for at least 15 seconds.

The peanut allergy would not necessarily have to be from eating a peanut. Remember the comp involved a large # of peanuts and she was coughing afterwards. I would expect that this was a contact response to either the peanuts themselves or some preservative perhaps?  And allergies can develop at any time -- even if you have not had a problem before. There is a theory that there is a lifetime response.

And responding to a previous question: kwim = Know what I mean?
