The Shelia/Nat relationship is strikingly similar to Jameka/Amber-its driving me crazy now. Shelia is feeding Nat's delusions and overly complimenting her constantly just like Jameka did with Amber it is sickening.
It is maddening to listen to Shelia tell Nat how smart and beautiful she is and she deserves to win this game over all others. I find it disingenuine when a HG tells another HG that they themselves are less worthy than whoever they are sucking up to.
Shelia has really disappointed me, I was excited to see someone from my generation in the game, thinking that she would mentally be more prepared to play a "social experiment" game than the 21 year olds. Boy was I wrong, she is demeaning herself by sucking up to everyone allowing them to feel superior to her and then using the single mother thing at times to regain some credibility and respect. The persona she has created is pathetic for someone her age. I thought she was playing dumb at first, I no longer believe that either. She can be manipulative and effective at swaying the house, but she jumps to conclusions so often it makes her look downright silly. She needs to take notes from Sharon and think a while before she reacts. :groan:

I wonder though if she isn't feeding Natalie what Nat wants to hear. Nat is insecure in a lot of ways and likes being complimented. Sheila needs to keep Nat from evicting her, seeming dumb and not a threat to her.
Same way with Josh yesterday. Josh blows his stack routinely as Sass has pointed out so instead of standing up to him this time, Shel kept saying she was sorry, she thought he wanted her to watch out for Sharon. (Using his words against him which makes it much harder to argue with her, a very good technique with difficult people.)

I hope you are right TL, that there is a reason for what she is doing. I just worry that deminishing herself to them by saying they deserve to win etc... really does cause them to begin to think that she does not deserve it. I don't think playing dumb works with this crew. It will be very interesting to see what happens when they get around to eveicting her, see if she begins to play hard.
Also, I hope in reality she know that numbers of playing cards go in sequence and the higher cards in order are Jack, Queen, King-that totally freaked me out-if its part of her ploy OK, but I can't beleive she wouldn't know that at her age and the people she spent her life with and going to Vegas? That just drove me bananas! :groan:
