BB8's Jess and Eric Blooper VIDEO

http://www.wibw.com/rhiannonallyblog/blog/11021521.html?num=

Many of you watched the full interview we did with Jessica and Eric about a week ago when Eric was in Wichita (if not, go to www.wibw.com/bioally and scroll to the bottom under my blogs and you can watch it!), well what you didn't see was what happened before the interview. We were having technical problems and it took like 20 mins to get worked out! Poor Jessica and Eric were good sports about it. When we couldn't communicate with the production crew on the other end (at our sister station, KAKE) they even relayed messages back and forth!

Well, I am attaching some moments before the interview. You can see the two of them interacting together as they wait patiently for us to get it figured out. You can also see how frustrating television can be when things aren't working. Well, luckily we all took it with a grain of salt and just moved on...It was great talking to the two of them and we'll try to talk to them again soon.

By the way, even if you have already seen the full interview, go to the link above and click on their interview and read some of the comments!

And post your own comments on both!

Local reality star helps raise money for friend in need

Fans of the TV show Big Brother 8 jumped at the chance to meet one of the show’s local stars signing pictures and selling t-shirts to raise money for a Wichita State student’s friend with cystic fibrosis, at Jocks and Jills Saturday.

Jessica Hughbanks, a Kansas native and reality TV personality on the series Big Brother 8, said that her mother contacted her friend Patti Spiegel, a fellow Wichita Thunder dance team member, about having the event.

Spiegel said that all of the funds from the event are going to help raise money for her friend Melissa Tweedy, a 26-year-old Wichita resident who has grown up with cystic fibrosis. Tweedy performed with Spiegel as a member Cowley County Community College Tigerette dance team.

“I have a friend with cystic fibrosis in need of a lung transplant.” Spiegel said.

The T-Shirts sold featured Hughbank’s catchphrase of “Booyah!” Fans bought the shirt, took a picture with Hughbanks and received a signed photograph.

Donna Brodin, a fan of the show who came in to see Hughbanks, said that she has watched Big Brother since the very beginning.

“I think that’s a wonderful cause,” Brodin said about the fundraiser.

In addition to raising money for her friend’s surgery Spiegel said she wanted to spread awareness about cystic fibrosis.

“People hear the word a lot but they don’t actually know what it means,” Spiegel said.

According to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation’s Web site, www.cff.org, cystic fibrosis is an inherited chronic disease that affects the lungs and digestive system of about 30,000 children and adults in the U.S.

The Web site said that cystic fibrosis causes the lungs to clog and makes it more likely to develop lung disease. Cystic fibrosis also blocks the pancreas and makes it harder for the body to process food.

Spiegel said Tweedy’s current condition is improving and that she left the hospital and is able to stay at her house.

Though Tweedy could not be at the event, Spiegel said that Tweedy posted bulletins and left messages about the event on Myspace.

“She tries to promote in anyway that she can,” Spiegel said.

Interview with Robyn Kass Big Brother Casting director

Big Brother’s background checks won’t necessarily take you out of the running

http://www.realityblurred.com/realitytv/archives/big_brother_9/2007_Nov_04_casting_background_check

Ever wonder how Big Brother ends up with quasi-psychotic criminals on the show? The series’ casting director says that most things that might come up during the background check are dealbreakers.
“There is not much in the background check process that will take you out of running,” Robyn Kass tells Reality Wanted. “In short tell us everything up front. If we find you did something that you did not disclose prior there may be a problem. Don’t lie. Surprises are the worst. If something does come up, we may assume there are additional things you are hiding from us. If we know everything prior, we are not blindsided and we can properly deal with those issues,” she said.
The admission is not all that surprising, considering that season three cast member Chiara was arrested for DUI while the casting process was underway, and plenty of other contestants have had criminal pasts.
The show is currently casting for Big Brother 9 contestants, and Kass says they need applicants because most interested people “don’t take the time to apply and send in an audition video. The majority of tapes are repeat applicants,” she said. Applications are due April 13, 2008, and will be for next summer’s show, assuming the series doesn’t air an edition in March.
