yikes:

Good...CBS came to their senses :wohoo: and I get Phil back :hearts:

From the quick look at the promo - not too clear - but it certainly looks like the 11 teams are introduced while riding in similar looking convertible cars. Back ground looks spanish colonial (Mexico?). This leads credence to our theory that teams arrive overseas independently and are first introduced in a foreign - read Latin American - city. If it is Belize the signs would be in English. If Mexico or Peru, the signs would be in Spanish. Can anyone read the background better? Also looks like one of the first tasks has something to do with riding a burro somewhere. In Ireland it looks like teams will be riding bikes built for two.

Come to VIDCAP everyone--that's where we are all talking about the first promo! :hearts:

Let's keep speculation about ep 1 here on this thread. Move information we have about ep 1 on other threads (vidcaps, etc; location speculation) to this thread.
From what we now see in the promos, it looks like the 11 teams are driven through the streets of LA up to the Playboy Mansion where they meet Phil and get the get go about "The world awaits you, travel safe!" They then pick up their bags, get the first clue to fly to Shannon Ireland. Teams proceed to SUVs parked on the drive and proceed to the airport.
Smart move by TPTB! Filming on the grounds of a private estate means that they did not need to have a filming permit. But no record of a film permit for filming in the International Terminal at LA is a mystery. We either were misled, had the dates wrong, or TPTB had a permit already in hand (an open ended permit issued much earlier?)
