The Nov. 4 date is not just as close as possible to the cancellation of Viva Laughlin. It is also the beginning of Sweeps Month for CBS and all the networks. Any later start could have pushed CBS into a split of sweeps for AR12 between November and February, assuming that the season will be 13 weeks or less.

The return of TAR means November 4 which is Week 9 of the NFL season.
Here are the doubleheader weeks for CBS as we will have potential overruns of football going into the Amazing Race.

November 25
December 9
December 23
December 30
