INDIO, Calif. – The hit TV show “The Amazing Race” is currently in its 16th season. Now casino players at Fantasy Springs Resort Casino can be the first in southern California to feel as if they have become one of the show’s stars with the brand new “The Amazing Race” slot machine from IGT. Fantasy Springs Resort Casino is the first casino in all of southern California to install the state-of-the-art penny game. Players will find four of these machines at Fantasy Springs.
As players approach the bank of machines, one of the first things they notice is the comfortable MEGAfx Surround chairs. These enveloping seats feature award-winning, high performance sound that creates a rich, immersive game experience. Each machine is themed and color coded to one of four continents – Europe, Australia, South America and Africa. As they play the machine, the show’s host, Phil Keoghan, guides players through the base game and the bonus round play. The three bonus rounds are borrowed directly from features on the reality TV show. Two of the three bonuses even include players seated at other Amazing Race machines if they qualify to participate. The game also features four local progressive awards for which players accumulate points and “miles” to attain. “The Amazing Race” slot machine transports players around the world with nonstop action and group play.

Phil Keoghan finds a new amazing race -- this time on the ocean

--- Quote ---Phil Keoghan has signed on to host and co-produce a new race around the world.
"The Amazing Race" host has signed on to partner on a reality show set in the world of the Velux 5 Oceans race. The event follows skippers as they sail alone around the globe on Eco 60 racing yachts.
Exodus Film Group has sealed North American TV rights to the race, while Keoghan will produce through his No Opportunity Wasted banner. Global production company All3Media is handling audio and video support. A U.S. outlet has not yet been identified.
"Phil's adventurous spirit and experience as an entertainer will help capture the true personalities of these adventure athletes on and off the water and the challenges they face in circling the planet globe alone," said Exodus Film Group CEO John Eraklis.
Keoghan said he was most intrigued by the fact that the sailors will tackle the seas alone. Solo sailing has been in the news recently via 16-year-old Abby Sunderland's recent aborted attempt to become the world's youngest sailor ever to circle the globe solo.
"This is a fantastic opportunity to share a physical and mental challenge that will test competitors beyond what seems humanly possible and at the same time highlight the planet's awe-inspiring oceans," Keoghan said.
Clipper Ventures runs the Velux 5 Oceans race, which begins in La Rochelle, France, on Oct. 17. Race moves from France to Cape Town, South Africa; then to Wellington, New Zealand; Salvador, Brazil; and Charleston, S.C., in the United States, before returning to France.

Here is a bit more:
The VELUX 5 OCEANS is the oldest single-handed round the world yacht race. Run every 4 years since 1982, the race is the longest and toughest event for any individual in any sport. The VELUX 5 OCEANS is a series of five high-pressure ocean sprints within a marathon circumnavigation. In the course of the 30,000 mile race, the skippers cross five oceans alone.
Racing begins in La Rochelle on October 17 2010 with the skippers heading for Cape Town in South Africa. From there they will head into the notorious Southern Ocean stopping at Wellington in New Zealand before rounding Cape Horn and making for Salvador in Brazil. A short hop up the coast to Charleston in South Carolina, USA, makes up the fourth leg before the skippers set off across the Atlantic to complete the race in La Rochelle in May 2011.
