Rigged or Not Rigged?
By Sysop
I have not written much lately but after viewing the August 5th version of Big Brother 8 I was enraged enough to say to myself, "I have had enough of this." I decided I had to get a few hours sleep and some time to gain a perspective on what I had just witnessed before I could sit down and write about it. It is now 5:30 AM on the east coast and what I witnessed on Big Brother 8 has now come into focus a lot more than it was last night.
Let's begin with the over flight of the Big Brother house by a plane pulling a banner that read, "We love Nick! Amber and Eric Are Liars! LNC Is The Nerd Herd!"
First things first,
1) It was flown during the Head of House Competition, which came after the Eviction Ceremony, so why would someone pay serious money to have "We Love Nick" on the banner, it was far to late to save Nick. The only assumption possible is "We Love Nick" is a red herring.
2) Correctly me if I am wrong on this minor point, is not Dick a member of LNC? If so, purchasers of that banner are not part of the insider internet crowd that have a love hate got to worship Dick thing. They would never call LNC the Nerd Herd.
3) I may be a little bit wrong here but I am quite sure I am not. We have not seen Big Brother televise a banner being flown over the Big Brother house since Big Brother 3. There have been many many banners flown over the house since Big Brother 3 and not one has been televised even though the houseguests had seen some of them.
How is it that the banner that over flew the Big Brother house in this last episode of Big Brother 8 was perfectly timed, perfectly positioned and Big Brother just happened to have the right camera with the perfect lens and filter available for it?
4) On the live feeds during the Veto Competition Dick could clearly be heard to complain, "She touched the bar." referring to Jen touching the bar they were hanging from. At that very moment it went to blue rabbit hole screen. How come we didn't see that, we only got to see Jen voluntarily getting down. Did she touch the bar? Were we deceived by Big brother once again?
I could list a few more points about the August 5th Big Brother 8 televised show, but lets get to the meat of it folks.
The cost of a banner is not cheap. Let's look at that:
Cost $450 per flight -- more for one time only. Message wording changes are $15 to $50. Cost up to $2.90 per square foot depending on size, complexity and quantity of letters
About 700 to fly it once. The actual cost would probably be about $500 to $700
It is my firm belief that Big Brother paid to have that banner flown over the house. To many things about the banner fit "Producer Logic".
We Love Nick! was a costly waste of space and and money. An avid fan eager enough to pay for that banner would have realized flying it during a HOH competition was going to do nothing to save Nick.
I already pointed out the need for the right cameras, lens and filters to shoot that plane and banner. We have never seen such a quality shot of a plane and banner in the history of Big Brother.
Who else but the producers would make the faux paux of calling the LNC the Nerd Herd?
Even if some of my logic falls apart most of it sticks together. Never mind it sticking together, there was so much wrong about the August 5 show I have lost complete confidence in the integrity of the show.
Big Brother has definitely "Jumped the Shark". There is a theory within the TV community that each year in order for a show to survive and continue to get good ratings it must amplify it self to newer and higher levels. Big Brother has been trying to do this since Big Brother 4. The only problem with the theory of getting more and more sensational year after year is eventually you get to where Big Brother is now, a farce!
I run this site for the fans of reality TV, I really like almost all the fans I have met, well there is that one tenth of one percent that I don't like but let's not split hairs. I am asking seriously for your help here because running a site like this is a tough job and it is even tougher when you get turned off on a show.
Now I don't mind anyone disagreeing with the above points I have made, please do. I am looking to have my faith restored. If you can logically convince me Big Brother isn't rigged or fixed now is the time to do. It will help me and others get through this season.
