Voting with the majority. Question!

This is probably a really dumb question, but why does it matter if a person votes with the minority. If the person with the majority votes stays then who cares? If they don't stay because of a close vote then who cares? I know the obvious reason is because if a person stays they will go after you if you voted against them but the votes are not revealed who votes for who, so how is a person going to know that you voted against them. And anyone can lie about "yeah I voted for you" or whatever. I don't get it.

The only time I could see it being a big deal is when they go to sequester because don't they see the show?
