You guys will definitely be wanting one of these for BBUK8!! This is how I watch all my Survivor, TAR, ANTM, BBUSA, Hell's Kitchen, Biggest Loser (not to mention Lost, Heroes, Ugly Betty, Boston Legal, Scrubs, etc etc...!)

No need to convert the files, just drop them onto a CD (or preferably a DVD) as they are and watch away! I bought my first one expressly so I could watch BBUSA6!

My latest player even has an SD card slot so I just drag the files onto a 2GB SD card and off we go!

As for Space Cadets, sounded great - but the execution was pretty crap. I never actually figured out whether to believe that the guys who were supposedly in the space training camp really did believe they were there, or whether they were all actors (bad ones at that!)

Good UK reality shows... hmm, you could try Shipwrecked, that's not bad, although a lot of this year's contestants are quite annoying! We have a lot of 'American Idol' / 'Grease is the Word' type things over here, with amateurs or UK celebs singing and trying not to get voted out. I'd steer clear of these unless you really like that kind of thing!

Sadly Survivor UK never really caught on, although the 2 series that were made were pretty good. I also hear that Australian Celebrity Survivor is worth watching but I haven't seen it yet myself.

I'm about 2/3 of the way through Space Cadets.

It's a brilliant concept.  The problem is that they dragged it out for WAAAAAY too long.

The host explains the concept literally 20 times per episode.

Too bad, because you can see that the show really has potential.  I'm hoping it gets picked up in the USA to see another attempt at it.

What's space cadets?

Kilarney:
Space Cadets is a British show (Channel 4) with an interesting concept.  A group of civilians are chosen to be Britain's first televised space tourists.  The catch... it's all fake.  Channel 4 created a fake Russian air base at an abandoned air base in Great Britain.  Inside of this base, they created a fake Russian space vehicle using the latest in Hollywood special effects.  The premise of the show is to see if they can get the "crew" to sit in the space vehicle for 5 days thinking that it is real.  (I haven't gotten to the "launch" yet, as most of the show covers their training.)

It's a hilarious concept, and had the makings of a great show.  The problem is that there just isn't a whole lot of entertainment so far.  The people are buying it hook-line-and-sinker - so you're really just watching a bunch of space training.  They throw in the occasional preposterous premise (e.g.; There will be a "gravity" machine on board the spacecraft) - but most of it is pretty slow paced.  Everybody is getting along, and sitting through training.  (Yawn.)  Not the most entertaining television.

Most of the entertainment so far has been watching the hoax being staged.  For example, they flew the cadets around Great Britain for 3.5 hours, when they really thought that they were flying to Russia.  The actors playing the Russians can be pretty funny as well.

The host is pretty terrible, and the "satellite shows" are pretty much a waste of time.  (In the "satellite show", a bunch of experts and a celebrity or two sit around and talk about the show.)

It's worth a watch - but it didn't live up to its potential.
