ok....here is my take on the episode shown tonight. I was there in Guam at the time of filming and got to watch all 4 teams compete. The day before the teams arrived, the buzz around Andersen was that the Amazing Race teams were going to be on base. How exciting since I am a huge fan. So, I show up at work around 730. We (my coworkers and I) got to watch the teams arrive with their escorts. 3 teams peeled off and did the engine wash and Myrna and Charla did the care package. We watched them throw the stuff in the box. We had the benefit of a Dept of Defense Public Affairs officer give us the entire lowdown on the events. If you see them underneath the canopy, my coworkers were just out of camera range. It was pretty interesting watching them. I would guess it only took them 10 mins or so to build the package. As you can tell from the footage, they actually didn't load the package onto the aircraft. In fact, the package they did build was broken down and re-done by the military unit after the filming stopped. After the team put the stuff in the box, the team was escorted down to a bus and taken to the aircraft. The bus stopped near the plane and they ran towards the plane. After the plane took off, I went down and watched the other 3 teams wash the engines. It was interesting to see the teams in those yellow suits. We got to watch the BQs run by us, followed shortly by Danielle and Eric (he waved to us), and finally by O/D. It was a good 20 or 30 minutes before the C-17 landed and Charla/Myrna left the airplane (back on the bus for the short ride back to their awaiting vehicle). I was sure that they would be eliminated since it took far longer for their detour. The public affairs officer only told us that they were headed down to the Navy base and would be doing something with helicoptors. Overall, it was interesting to see what was actually filmed and edited. A note about the aircraft footage. There were some cutaways to show a B-52 and a C-5. There wasn't even an active B-52 or a C-5 at the time they were filming. Strange they included those planes in tonight's episode. I am rooting for Danielle and Eric win but wouldn't mind if the BQs won either. Myrna and Charla are on my last nerve with their "accent of the week".

The old-fashioned way.  Remember a few months ago I posted the notice about WRP looking for a secretary in El Segundo? It got me curious, because I only remembered the MDR office. After a bit of searching, I found 200 N. Continental Blvd., the China Airlines building. Since it's only a few blocks away from Fry's (local geek store), I decided to pay a visit. It turns out that the ES office is much bigger than the MDR diggs. China Air and WRP are the only tenants, and WRP seems to command the lion's share of parking spaces. Judging from appearances (the guard stopped me before I reached the front door), the "shirt-sleeve" work is done at MDR and the "front-office" work is done at ES.

Now this is more like it. When the pilot reprograms Dustin's Rino, you can see coordinates that match Oronte point, and a date--13 Dec 06--and a time (could be 15:37, but it's a bit fuzzy; I'll look for more examples).

So I take it you didn't get the secretary job?  :kuss:

Very funny  ;). Seriously, though, BVM & Co. are moving on; google "profiles television production" and you can see they're hiring in El Segundo (and elsewhere) as well as looking for contestants for Oprah's new philanthropy show.
Back to the Garmins. All four showed the pilots at the same place. And the LZ coordinates I got off of Dustin's Garmin. The photo below (kmz attached) shows the locations; the two points are about 680 crow-flight yards apart.
