Phil: This is Chennai, India, also known as the gateway to south India. Pitstop for the 5th leg of the race.

Will David/Mary come in 1st, and avoid the penalty?

12:54 pm, Peter/Sarah. Nokia phone: Make your way to Kuwait City and find this mystery location (a pic of the Towers).
Phil: They must go to a travel agent for tickets, then fly 2400 miles, then drive one of these marked cars.

P conf: I have to be careful of pushing Sarah too hard on a blown knee.

Dustin/Kandice 1:0-something pm.
Conf: They're jealous! No one wants to be beaten by blonde girls!

Peter/Sarah claim a "medical emergency" at a ticket agent.

Dustin/Kandice impress another agent with "we're Miss California and Miss New York. We really are!" They get arrival Kuwait 7:50 am tomorrow as P/S find out the Towers are the thingy in the phone pic.

Rob/Kimberly leave in 3rd (missed the time) and taxi to a travel agent.
Erwin/Godwin 1:53, "We're gonna stick together with Team Alabama."
L/K 2:03 pm.
All four leave for taxis and tickets.
Karlyn conf: We all want all three of our teams to be there at the end.
Erwin conf: D/M could be eliminated if they don't come in first this leg.

Tyler/James 3:37 pm, hail taxis in nasty rush-hour traffic.
They're at the ticket agent in short order, though.
Man gives them tickets thru Bombay with the big group.

Mary, re cell phone: I have never had one of these in my life.
Conf: No one will lay down and let you win a million dollars. We have to do it ourselves.

P/S are happy to be departing Chennai, as are D/K.

L/K happy to see Mary/Dave at the ticket agent with Erwin/Godwin.
Mary looks really stressed!

Teams arrive at the airport, the backpack alliance makes the same flight as all the other teams.

Phil: All 7 teams on the same flight to Kuwait.

EQUALIZER!!

Teams haul ass for marked cars except for Erwin/Godwin who arranged for a local escort on the plane.

Tyler/James take the early lead.
Other teams try to pass on the road, sparking some tempers.

The backpackers leave in 5th, 6th and 7th.

Dustin/Kandice recall having a loved one "fighting here." They get lost and ask directions.

Rob/Kim, Tyler/James, find the towers first.
Woman: Go up the elevator.
Atop the highest floor, They take numbers. It opens at 11:00.

D/K arrive in 3rd. P/S arrive there in 4th but grab #3.
The four celebrate their good luck.
The local gets them to the towers.
David: They're here.
Mary: Aw, gawd!
L/K pull the number in 5th. D/M 6th.
Chos 7th.

Teams speculate: Is it a jump??

CLUE, FAST FORWARD.
Phil: Only two on the entire race. This one, teams drive 18 miles to an oil field, using protective gear, approach a simulated oil well fire. Reach the cluebox near the raging fire and retrieve the FF from inside it.

ROADBLOCK.
Who's strong in both mind and body?

Climb the ladder that curves around to the top of this tower. Retrieve puzzle pieces. On the ground, additional pieces. The puzle reveals the name of the street on which this marked stall resides.

Most teams eschew the Roadblock, not needing it.
Erwin/Godwin decide if D/M want the FF, they can have it.
Meanwhile, they tell the blondes they'll do it, scaring the blondes away from it.

Dave/Mary agree with Erwin/Godwin to go for it.
In the elevator: We were just blocking so that you could go for it.
Mary hugs the Cho brothers.
Mary conf: They put the race on the line for us. It would break my heart if the Cho brothers would be eliminated.

E/G conf: It's a bit of a risk for us, since we're now in last. And heights are one of our biggest fears.
