We DID do the helicopter task....It did not show it on tv, but the book just flipped open to the right page, which helped us out a lot.  But, alas, the sugar cane field kicked our a$$, (:;) :meow: B:) :'(

:hearts:  Hey!  Yeah, as far as the Katy area goes...it's a mini-Houston now.

And yes, the ass I was talking about was the avatar...and NO I did not want and ass-job....I wanted minor stuff....Lisa had wanted a major overhaul, but I have changed my mind.  LONG story, but after spending time in Sequesterville, and seeing all the poverty, my eyes were opened (baggy wrinkly and all) and I decided that there are far too many more things to spend money on....I know, I know, I can be human at times....I DO have a heart.

PS NO amount of ps would make my butt look like Miss Thang's :flirt: with the cowboy hat. :lol3: :lol3: :lol3: :lol3:

:jumpy:  Sequesterville...aka Loser Lodge....was in Portugal...near Lisbon.  It was cold and windy and wet most of the days we were there.  We weren't really locked up, though....we did get to get out often.... :woohoo:  Mostly in a group.  We had a couple of "handlers" that were in charge of us.    There were a couple of tense moments caused by being stir crazy,  :meow:

The best part was, when we sat around waiting for the next eliminated team, and then we sat in the "flop" room and listened to their stories... B:)

The next best thing was...booze flowed freely.... :jam:  That is when I fell off the wagon.  I am now a drunken pig. :waves:

FrostieJ,  Were teams sent on trips to places like Madrid or Paris, or were you restricted to Portugal?

I never tought of Portugal being poor. but excellent it effected you and inspired you to help others.  :jumpy:

Although I do see a Amazing Race 'jerry springer-esq' dvd from sequesterville coming out... :lol3:

Did you drink Cosmo's or was that only John?  :lol3: that's my fav

I would have started a betting pool on who was the next person to show up....or made it a drinking game?

Do you still keep in touch with any of the other teams?

:hrt: Most of us stay in touch....usually by email, but I talk to Wanda, Dave and Lori and John sometimes....  We did not get to go on trips, and we did stay in Portugal.....there were parts of the places we saw that were pretty sad.  There were lots of street beggars and stuff....

I didn't get to drink cosmos, but I did taste one of Lori's favorite drinks, which is Beer and Tomato Juice.  It sounded yucky at first, but is really good.

Everyone was a blast to hang out with and we all made (or tried to) the best out of our stay.  One team was really unhappy to be there, and voiced it often. B:)  No names mentioned dadgummit.

I was just glad to be anywhere outside the US...I had never travelled before. :woohoo:  Planes once freaked me out, but now I sleep during flights.... :waves:

     Thanks for the insight ;D

I do wish Team Dadgummit posted on the boards because I would have liked to ask them a couple of questions.  Specifically, What did they think of the Amazing Race visiting their hometown during season 8 and only showing it to be the home of a trailer park?  And, what location should the race have visited to best show off their city?

in regards to portugal being poor...it depends on what part of the country.  I was there last summer and i stayed in a small OLD town called Portalegre...and it wasn't a rich town..but it wasn't exactally poor..it was just old.

Yeah, you're right...not all of Portugal was poor, most of it was beautiful...the old buildings were gorgeous...but, just like any other place you go to, there are the better and the worst parts...we just happened to stumble upon a couple of really sad sights....

I hope I can go back one day.

Team dadgummit (or half) has posted on MoJo's site...maybe you can ask them there.  I don't understand why some racers won't post...guess they are skeeeeeeeeeered. :o

watch out for survivor sucks (another internet forum) they are mean to peeps

unlike us at RFF

Survivor Sucks (aka Sucks) is an internet forum on the ezboard network, in which posters discuss and ridicule reality television shows such as Survivor, The Amazing Race, Big Brother, American Idol, The Apprentice and Lost. With more than 40,000 users (known colloquially as Sucksters) and nearly five million posts since its founding in 2001, it ranks among the largest and most active communities on the ezboard network.
