I've been looking around for something with the right "marble content." The Warsaw royal palace has plenty of marble, but no matching patterns I've found. The Wilanow palace, just outside of town, doesn't have as much marble, but it is famous for it's collections of pottery/knicknacks/etc.

Wilanow Palace Grand Vestibule may be a possibility...

:js:  If anyone has a lot of spare time, here's a link to all the castles, palaces, and manors in Poland.

I assume it has to be a sizable structure to have that amount of marble.  That could narrow it down.   :groan:

Peach: looks close, but those double columns have me stumped.

Yes--and my marble probably isn't an exact match either...

Here's one from the Warsaw Royal Palace Ballroom.  Double columns, but not the right color.

I just looked through half of the Polish Palaces.. but most of them only show photos of the exterior, and dont show the inside of the palace.. which makes it near impossible to work out if it's a match..

Im using an online translator to try and send an email in polish to the people at the website with the building lists.. fingers crossed X

Sorry, I know I posted this before but...

Correct me if I'm wrong, I just watched the recent episode here in good ol Australia.

Did anyone find this quote by Eric (after they lost in the footrace to Guido) a little foreshadowing?

Eric: "She got beat by a bunch of QUEENS."

*Slow motion sarcastic eye roll by Danielle with the dundundun music of foreshadowance (hehe)*

Please let that happen in the final leg. Please please please.

Is it anything I should be worrying about? Or am I overthinking (haha)?

puddin--the mermaid info is wonderful!

But the item on the mantel behind Joe is a mantel clock (Chateau called it earlier)

It seems to be a nice French clock circa 1830-80 on a white marble/alabaster base with ormolu decorations.

The lady on top is in a fairly classical  pose and is probably done in bronze.
Here are some other clocks to give you an idea...

I have cross looked clocks/Warsaw/Poland castles and did get some who have clock collections--but no luck with clocks and our marble.

Clocks at Wawel royal Castle

Clocks at Choroszcz Palace

;D  I agree, most French clocks of that period would have "classic Greek mythological themes".

Wow peach, did you ever work for the HSN.  Last time I heard the word "ormulu" was on late night cable TV.      All we need is an Antiques Roadshow expert and we're home free. :yess:

Wawal Palace is in Krakow.

Other palaces that might work in Warsaw are:

Royal Palace: the Marble Room or New Audience Room or Knight's Hall

Myslewicki Palace, used very often for Chopin piano recitals

Palace on the Water

The White House

Wilanow Palace: Queen's Antechamber, Great Hall, or Great Crimson room.

Just a few possibilities for Poland.

:js:  Amazing what you can find on eBay.   :snicker:  Our "guido clock" may look something like this "clock top figure" on eBay.
Maybe we can "clone" the clock from parts on eBay.   :lol3:   :-\      Oh well.... :groan:

The Warsaw Royal Castle seems to have a lot of marble:

This type of figurative mantlepiece clock in Ormolu (partly guit bronze) is typical for 19th century Paris clocks. This example from about 1850 comes from the Richelieu household.
