Oh.. My.. god!
Does this mean there will be a long foot-run to get to the finnish line once the teams arrive at the final destination? Or is it not too far..
If Charla and Mirna were winning but lost in a foot-race..i would just die  :groan:

Actually I have no problem with them losing do to a footrace.

It is a Race.  A big part of this is how fast you can move from point A to point B.

Now sometimes thats on a flight, some times the luck of a cab, sometimes its how well you navigate (or get others to navigate for you), but its also often a foot race.

ANd frankly it should be.

They already get an airport advantage in almost every airport (being able to in most cases get early boarding and first off the plane with her disability.  In some airports they also have the ability to use that to get escorted to and through Customs.  In some cases that could be a 15 minute break or it could be a lead of hours, depending on the airrport.

They have never (supposedly) geared the race to someone with any disability (and in fact in some cases in season 5 Charla had no choice in the roadblocks the other option wasn't a possability for her size).  Just like they didn't make the race easier for Sarah, or make it easier for any of the older or out of shape racers.

Its a race, its supposed to physically and mentally and emotionally challenege the racers/

 :waves:

Hi guys, I'm new to this forum and absolutely love the work you've been doing.  :hearts:

I come from Sydney Australia and think TAR is the best show. Ever. Period.

Watched all seasons God knows how many times and am really looking forward to All Stars.

Ok, got a bit carried away there.

So anyway, hello everybody  ;)

P.S red_sox, I find it faster to use Bittorrent and download the whole episode from mininova so I'm less than a day behind all you lucky people who get to watch it first hand.  (:;) *sigh*

P.P.S The final 3 placings (E/D 1st, D/K 2nd, C/M 3rd) - are they confirmed spoilers or just rumoured ones?

The flight, fwiw.  :plane:
awesome Slowhatch! thank you !

I want to clean up a minor error that was in SLOWHATCH's posting #691. It shows the flights from Guam to Honolulu going from Guam to Nagoya to Honolulu. I was reminded by the recent reissuing by GEORGIAPEACH of the blog by the Northwest customer service agent on Guam (Kenny) that the actual route was through Tokyo-Narita airport and not through Nagoya. This makes the flights:

NW 73 or NW 81 departing GUM 1545 or 1615 on Saturday Dec. 16 to NRT arriving at 1835 to 1900, changing planes to NW10 nonstop to HNL arriving at 0730 same day after crossing the International Date Line

This is not a big difference but just a point of detail.

As I understand it, and correct me if I am wrong, TPTB hold the teams in Customs/Immigration until all of the teams have cleared.  This helps to even things out since it all depends on the agent,  the line, etc. some taking a lot longer than the others.  When teams arrive on the same plane, you will note that they all seem to be running out of the airport together (or close together)

Well yes and No.

We have confirmed proff that in there final return to US customs, that everyone is held and released in a group (as long as you arrived on the same flight.

If for example you had two flight arrive at whatever is the fianl customs area at noon and one at 12:30.   Those on the noon flight would be held until all are finished with customs, and those on the 12:30 flight will be held as a group.

We also have proff that it can also happen on the first leg (season 7 for example, where they talk about it on the DVD commentary).

But we also have proff from several seasons most notable 3 and 10 that during the rest of the race this isn't always the case.

I think

So we don't know for sure how often they hold tehm during the race, but we do kno that they don't always hold them.

OMGOMGOMG. 3 DAYS!

Well by Australian date it's 3 days.

Which means...OMGOMG 4 DAYS till I watch it!  :wohoo:

Hmmm...they closed the final pitstop for 2 and a half hours.

I'm guessing a finish just like the one in season 10 (2 teams battle it out and one team is left behind by a close flight) but really hope it's a 3 way dash to the finish line (season 3).

I have a good vibe/feeling about Eric and Danielle winning. 100 bucks says they'll get the Kris and John edit :js:

Also looks like Charla and Mirna DOMINATE some parts of the race (ahead for 2 hours or more) so look out for 2+ first place finishes if the bunchings remain minimal - however they will eventually come third (I THINK).

Dustin and Kandice not sure about, but whatever, I like all these 3 teams in the final 3 (unless I'm wrong about Eric and Danielle and he beats her like Jonathan :jam:)

Stay safe, Dan.

Oh yes, also, is there actual confirmation of F3 placings (Deric 1st / Queens 2nd / Schmirna 3rd) or is it just guesses?

P.S I hate myself for using name abbreviations so early.
