After watching and listening to the preview, I have a feeling the Frats are responsible for cancelling everyone else's cabs.   I have a hunch that the voice saying "We cancelled their cab" is either Eric or Jeremy.

Ray, Joseph, BJ & Tyler are all seen inside a (cab rental?) building.  Ray says something like "We had to call another cab."

Then again, this could all be misdirection.

On another note, isn't it pretty much a given that the Yield has no effect since 3 teams are in a footrace for last place?

Puddin, the Fremantle Sailing Club lists its address as Marine Terrace, which puts it right across the street from the Esplanade (crew sighting; maybe the racers stayed there as well). This page describes the hotel as 30 min. away from PER.
The crow that flies for GE puts the distance down as 15 miles. (farther, though, if they have to go to Swans bells first as Chateau wrote)

Puddin, it sure looks like an airport to me where they're bunched up looking for taxis. Maybe they're in the Perth airport, they all call ahead to Darwin for cabs, and then someone cancels them all and says "we canceled their cabs." This action could all happen in the airport. But the narration in the commercials (e.g. Ray: "we need to get another cab") is voiceover from later in the episode when they find out what's happened? Just a thought...

Losing all your belongings does not seem to be a problem.  It may be an advantage because you have less to worry about.  My $0.02

CBS Website Clues:

When two teams race to the Yield Mat, the first team to arrive rubs salt in the wound by yielding the duo they outran right in front of their faces.

There is a three-way footrace to the pitstop. What news will Phil have for the last team to arrive?

These quotes tell me two things:  (1) The YIELD had very little effect on the outcome of the episode. and (2) One team gets to the Pit Stop way ahead of the last three teams which race to the matt.  The last team is MUGGED by Phil.

E&J are stirring the pot , they are the ones that pitted BJT & MoJo' s hate

http://forum.realityfanforum.com/index.php?topic=7873.msg117355#msg117355

anywhooo , I think its E&J that cancel the taxi's . Sounds like they will do anything to win . They fear RaYoyo because they are physical but the call Tyler a sissy and think that he cant run and last leg proved they could outrun MoJo in a foot race . They want to keep MoJo & BJT around because they dont fear them to much as threats , where as they'd like to see RaYoyo out of the race and not in the final 3 . Just thought it was interesting . Who knows ? it also just maybe that E&J get to yield some other team just to ensure their lead ?

:lol3: "I think its E&J that cancel the taxi's"

That would be funnier than hell if they did (though I doubt they would other than as a prank) but there appears to be some discrepancy. The CBS teaser (I should have said promo here)  states that somebody cancelled the other's taxis but the promo shows RaYoyo <(lol), Hippies, and EJ messing with MOJO about cancelling their, MOJO's, taxi. Either way, Joseph does not looked pleased. Adding fuel to the fire?

Just some early observations since CBS has not thought to run a video commercial for TAR next week as of last night! Lots of commercials for all the other shows since the Infamous May Sweeps began last night!!

1.  Shots of Mo/JO in two taxi rides (a) day light with black tee shirt for him and white tank for her.  This most likely is on the way to PER after the Swan Bells Tower visit in Perth. (b) night time also with same outfits on which means it is the same day. This could be either be (1a) on the way from the pit stop in Fremantle to the Swan Bells Tower since they probably will be leaving at 11:30PM or (1b) on the way to the Sky City Hotel and Casino since the flight they most likely will be on from PER to DRW would arrive at 7:05PM and the sun sets at 6:26PM so it would be dark.

2.  Shot of Mo with Jo in gray shirt next to her must be the next day since she is now wearing a black tank top. She is glaring at someone ahead of her.  Could this be the moment that the Hippies have YIELDED MO/JO??

3.  From write up of the Skydive Territory outfit it looks like they only have a single Cessna 182 for use by tandem jumpers. A tandem jump also includes at least 15 minutes preperation time before takeoff.  So if there is only one plane and each team must wait their turn, this will be one hellva ROADBLOCK.  The first team is going to be at least two hours ahead of the last team!!

4. Which comes first the chicken or the egg - no I mean which comes first the Roadblock Plane Jump or the Detour in Litchfield National Park?  Tradition has it that the Detour comes first and the Roadblock before the Pit Stop.  But if there is such a backup on the Roadblock parachute jump, perhaps that comes first on the way to the Detour.  The pit stop could be back in Darwin (2 hour drive) or in the Lost City area somewhere.  Your guess is as good as mine at this point of time.

Maybe they'll ditch the taxis and take the train this time. (Also, judging by the map, taking the boat to Hillarys harbor was a bad bet for the Hippies)

"The Amazing Race teams were rushed through Darwin airport to SkyCity hotel casino on Thursday night and yesterday morning they are believed to have filmed scenes at Darwin's Crocodylus Park before being whisked to a secret location."

more
This mornings papers up here in Darwin said that the latest series of TAR was being filmed here. Contestants arrived Thurs night and rushed through the airport then yesterday they filmed at the Crocodile Park (all they do there is feed the snapping handbags and have animals on display so I guess there is a challenge to feed them (usually a chicken on a string off a pole). After this the paper said the contestants were then rushed off to another secret location. If they arrived late Thur night then they have either flown in from somewhere in asia or Melb or Syd (only international flights come in from Brunei, Indonesia or Singapore).

DID we see contestants from The Amazing Race in Adelaide?

Onlookers at Adelaide Airport on Sunday wondered what all the fuss was about when a desperate-looking couple attempted to book a capacity Singapore Airlines flight.
They also happened to be young, good-looking Americans carrying only backpacks, with a TV crew filming their every move.
They had boarding passes for a flight to Sydney, and after being told the Singapore Airlines flight was full, they ran back to the domestic terminal (bet they're wishing the new terminal was in operation).

Of the two skydiving sites mentioned previously, I'll go with Skydive Territory for now. Two reasons:
  • You can see from the cap that a Sigma rig is used. This page
shows Sigma being used by ST.
  • On the same page is the map with their location; they're based in Batchelor, just outside of Litchfield park.
(Not much to go on, I know)

:woohoo: tv preview is up; cable tv version

Looking at these flights along with gmans estimated pitstop arrivals, I agree with mwooden that it's time for a chartered flight from Perth to Darwin.

Gmans estimate of pit arrival times:

The Beach Boys  11:30AM to 12:00Noon
    MO/JO               11:30AM to 12:00Noon
    The Hippies         12:00N   to 12:30PM
    RaYolanda             1:00PM  to 1:30PM

So they will be bunched at the doors of the bell tower until 10 am and then to the airport to catch Qantas flight 1942 leaving at 12:20 pm and arriving in Darwin at 7:05 pm (stops for about 1:45 along the way).

One team starts playing head games with another by egging them on with rumors that drive them crazy.
When two teams race to the Yield Mat, the first team to arrive rubs salt in the wound by yielding the duo they outran right in front of their faces.
There is a three-way footrace to the pitstop. What news will Phil have for the last team to arrive?

    Press Release
"Man, They Should Have Used Their Fake Names" --
Knowing that the Million Dollar Prize is within their reach, the final four Teams turn up the intensity, on THE AMAZING RACE 9.
Teams fly to Darwin, Australia and must wade through a crocodile-infested pool to receive their next clue.
The Racers also perform an intense Roadblock which requires one teammate to perform a tandem skydive with a trained professional.
This entire leg is full of foot races which culminate with a three-way sprint to the Pit Stop.
Meanwhile, Teams continue to play head games with each other and one Duo takes the scheming a step further when they cancel all the cabs waiting for the remaining Teams.

We know that 3 teams race to the mat and the end of this episode, so  even if the plane spreads teams out, the last 3 teams bunch up again.  Thus i doubt the parachuting is right before the pit stop.

Just curious, is there any rule about canceling another's cab.

I know you can't physically sabatoge a teams vehicle (One of the racer's at one time had mentioned that).

And with Rob and Amber (not to mention Charla adn Mirna) you can get someone else's cab (oh and Chip and Kim and the Karli and Kami).

I know in first season Rob and Brennan talk about in the last leg, that they thought about booking all the seats on the Anchorage to Seattle flight.

Just trying to think has another team ever cancelled another teams call for a cab?

Stolen yes, attempted to steal yes.

I got the gut feeling that that is just standard boilerplate until they get the real info.  If not, and this is correct, then we will end up with two or three NEL'S in the last two programs or three legs!
