PREVIOUSLY ON .. THE AMAZING RACE:

Phil voice: "This leg is still not over." Ten teams left Moscow, to Stuttgart. Eric/Jeremy smashed bottles at the Detour, with Lake/Michelle and BJ/Tyler close behind. Fran/Barry came from behind for the first time, but had trouble with a German dance. Mom/Daughter Wanda/Desiree couldn't navigate, and got lost going to the Roadblock. They competed with Danielle/Dani for last place. Dani found the gnome first. E/J arrived first at the pitstop. W/D came in last, were eliminated.

Now eight teams remain. Who will be eliminated next?

Phil: This is Munich. Founded 1,000+ years ago by Benedictine monks, it's one of the most important business centers in Europe. This monument to peace was the 4th pitstop in a race around the world.

Will Lake/Michelle continue their momentum?
Will Dave/Lori's stoic nature keep them going?

2:15 am, Eric/Jeremy, CLUE: Fly to Palermo, Italy.
Phil: On the island of Sicily. Teatro Massimo, this opera house, the next CLUE.

Eric/Tyler, 3:04 am.
Karma, Dharma.

Lake/Michelle, 3:09 am.
They high-five BJ/Tyler and tailgate each other.
Lake conf: I'm still the leader of this team.

At the airport ...
E/J first to arrive.
"We need to get to Palermo."
Woman: Alitalia, 6:35 am, arrive 10:15.

Frat boys play with a wheelchair.
BJ/Tyler and Lake/Michelle arrive at the airport.
Frat boys do "the obstacle course" with wheelchairs in the empty pre-dawn airport.
BJ/Tyler think about joining them.
Meanwhile, they do internet surfing, in German.
Michelle figures it out and buys tickets on the 'net.
They find the 6:35/10 something flight, but Michelle says "for some reason, I can't get on it now." Lake is like having a cow.

Fran/Barry, CLUE, 5:03 am.
Dave/Lori, 5:28 am.
Joseph/Monica, 5:52.
Apparently not bilingual, Monica calls it "PALLER-moe, Italy."

The ticket counters open.
Eric/Jeremy seeking the FULLY BOOKED first flight.
BJ/Tyler are ****ting bricks because they have tickets alreadyf rom the internet!
Next flight would leave 9:something.
Man says "wait for Standby."
Fran/Barry arrive at the airport.
The second flight doesn't arrive until 1:25 pm, at best, depending on connections.
Fran, to Lake: Just step back! Please!
Lake: We haven't done anything!
Eric/Jeremy trying to get on the early flight.
BJ/Tyler board the 6:35.
Eric/Jeremy get Standby and board the 6:35.
Other teams, SOL.

Ray/Yo, 6:48 am.
Ray calls it "Palmiero" (like Rafael, the ballplayer).

Joseph: We need tickets to Palamino.
Monica: PALLER-mo.
Ticket agent looks like ... huh?

Departing last, Danielle/Dani, 7:28 am.

FLIGHT TWO leaves with most teams, including Lake/Michelle, Fran/Barry, to arrive in Palermo 1:25 pm.

The last flight, Ray/Yolanda, Danielle/Dani.
Flight 1 lands in the island of spumoni and tortoni.
Flight 1 teams get cabs.

Flight 2 lands for its connection.
Lake/Michelle get the WRONG connection, apparently didn't pay attention to which connection the agent gave 'em.
Lake, waving arms angrily at Michelle: We went from first to last! There's no other sumbitches on this flight, dammit!

Three teams now bringing up the rear.
Lake: DANGIT!

CLUE, BJ/Tyler: Drive yourselves to the town of Castellammarrie del Golfo.
Phil: Seaside terrace, the next clue.

Eric/Jeremy in 2nd, ogling Italian women.
The last flight finally arrives in Palermo.
Lake/Michelle bringing up the rear in the last cab.

BJ/Tyler, DETOUR: Foundry, or laundry?
Phil: Foundry, walk to metal works, pick up a 110 pound church bell, using this thingy, carry the bell up to the top of the church.
Laundry, from apartment balconies, find one of the pieces of hanging marked clothing with the red-yellow marked tag.

BJ/T choose laundry.
Joseph/Monica, CLUE in 3rd.
Fran/Barry and Dave/Lori, 4th/5th.
Back in the cars to Castellammarie Del Golfo.
Dave/Lori seem to be stuck in rush hour traffic.

BJ/Tyler search, FIND the marked laundry.
Fake italian accents, for the laundry woman.
CLUE: Drive yourselves to the ancient town of Segesta.
Phil: Find the archaeological Teatro de Segesta amphitheatre.

Ray/Yo, Danielle/Dani, footrace for 6th and 7th CLUE.
Back in the cars they go.
Lake/Michelle, CLUE in last, but pass Danielle/Dani who can't drive the stick without stalling it out.

Eric/Jeremy DETOUR, choose laundry.
"This is one of Phil's turtlenecks."
Joseph/Monica choose Foundry.
Eric/Jeremy FIND the marked shirt, off they go.
BJ/Tyler, reading: YIELD AHEAD.
There it is!
Phil: This is the first of the two yields. They can force any other team to yield. Teams can only exercise yield power once in the entire race. Hourglass, sand, etc ...
BJ/Tyler: NO YIELD.
ROADBLOCK: Who's good at piecing things together?
Phil: Correctly piece together a classical greek statue, but there are two pieces that don't fit. They'll have to figure it out.

Dragging the bell, Monica is mad at Joseph for "not staying with me."
He picks it up himself.
Barry: Did you see how HEAVY that thing was!?!?
Joseph hoists it on his shoulder and runs up stairs!
Monica: Joseph no!
Joseph: Just lead the way!!
Joseph/Monica finish, get CLUE.
Monica: I knew I would love Italy.

Replay: Fran/Barry walking.
Someone didn't see a clue box ... neener neener ...
They choose laundry, because the bell weighs too much.

Dave/Lori, choose laundry.
Lori: We're not the athletic peoples!
Dave: Yeah. No kidding.
Barry finds the shirt, and off they go toward the YIELD.

Lori: Make sure you search well!

Ray/Yolanda choose the bell.
Lake/Michelle 7th, choose laundry.
Danielle/Dani seem lost, but drive up to the cluebox.
They notice, "The last clue!"

Ray/Yo move quickly with the bell.
Ray hoists it in the truck.
Lake/Michele look for the marked clothes.
Dave: Oh, Lori.
Lori: Oh, the girls are here ...
Dave: Omigod.
Lori: We need to kick it into high gear!
Lake: Having fun yet?
Lori: Gotta keep trying.
Dave: This is hard.

Ray hoists the bvell and carries it, huffing and puffing, up the stairs.
They get the clue as Yo does a "Ray worship" confessional.
(Nice tris, dude ... LOL!)

Dave/Lori get the Segesta clue.
Ray/Yo lost, seeking directions.
Yo, walking, to Lori, getting in the car: We're coming!
Lori, in car: Good for you.

Building a statue, BJ/Tyler lament not having done well in Anatomy class.
They're DONE!
CLUE: Make your way on foot to the next pitstop.
Phil: One mile down hill to the Tempio De Segesta.
Eric/Jeremy: There's the hippies! Damn!

Woman: Welcome to Sicily.
Phil: BJ/Tyler, you are team #1. You've just won ...
BJ: Pizza pie?
Phil: ... a digital imaging package from Duracell!

Eric/Jeremy preen while building the statue.

Lake/Michelle finally finish laundry, and wonder if they should yield the Pinks, who are still searching.
Finally the Pinks find their marked clothing, and get the clue.

Ray/Yolanda don't think they're driving in the right direction.
They ask for directions.
Surely enough ... they've been driving in the wrong direction.
Ray: We've lost about 15 minutes.

Fran/Barry arrive at the statue-build.
Fran: We shouldn't YIELD anyone.
Fran to build the statue.
Barry: One of the most beautiful views you'll see,ever! Fran, this is what you're good at!

Monica: There are two extra pieces? We're done!?
They get their clue, followed closely by Fran/Barry.
Dave: I think we took the back way.
Lori: NO! LAKE!
Lake: Yeah, baby!
Lori, huffing and puffing up the hill ...
Michelle: We gotta get to the YIELD before them!!

Phil: Joseph/Monica, you are team #3.

Dave, puffing uphill, reaches the YIELD and they don't YIELD anyone.
Lake/Michelle, YIELD DANIELLE/DANI.
Danielle/Dani: Omigod! That's pathetic!
Dave: The girls just got yielded!
Lori: Headbone's connected to the kneebone!

Driving up, Ray/Yolanda arrive, in last.
Danielle/Dani bawling about being YIELDED.
Their time will be up, then they can now start to build the statue.
Dave: That looks good, Lori!
Lake: YEAH!! Lake seems to be finishing.
It's very, very dark now.
Lori: I have two pieces I can't figure where they go.
Dave: A piece of the thigh? Just take the whole thing off.
Lake is DONE.
Lake/Michelle leave in 5th for the pitstop.
Danielle/Dani's time is up before Ray/Yolanda reach the YIELD.
Lori: Two pieces don't fit! They don't fit anything!
Dave: That's gotta be part of the thigh.
Lori: But it doesn't fit!
Dave: If I could see that far, I wouldn't wear glasses.
Lori: DOES.NOT.FIT.ANYWHERE.

Finally, they arrive.

D/D: Being fun, we made it memorable. Things we thought we could never do.
Phil: YOu made some connections with the opposite sex!

Its so ironic how the first "victum" to the yield was
1. My favorite team [and i was always against a yeild]
2. And it was one of the most pointless yilded used.

I thinks it has now been quite foreshaddowed that Ray and Yolanda will come back and bite LM in the ass [kind of like rombers yield mistake]

Sucks the first eppy i wasnt nervious for the Dees they get eliminated! Now to me this season is just blah who can i root for, i have the favorites [BJT, EJ], Fran and Barry are just nasty as is Lake and Michelle[you cant say sorry after useing the yield], Ray and Yolanda who?, MOJO who?, and the Geeks should have already been eliminated.

but i felt this eppys editing was all pointing to a DD elimination the college quote [i knew it then it was over] plus Ray and Yolanda being invisible the whole eppy.

Did anyone notice that fast moving light during the sculpture building? I couldn't tell if it was a production light or a shooting star. Anyone else notice this?

Hehehehe I just rewatched it. Dave was crying at the end because he and Lori bickered this leg. And she was all "Aw. We're ok." That was a cool moment.

Killer Fatigue got the nerds this week. Bickering and frustration are all signs of that.

I guess Lake/Michelle are dealing with KF since they one.
