could we find out waht time there were heavy downpours around the canal?
I was asssuming the Detour came before the Roadblock ?
Also if the teams are driving all over the place why are they lugging their gear around , why not leave it in the car ? thats why i think they take some other transportation ? bus/train whatever .

FWIW, I see (on the video) what appears to be Greek writing on the wall.  A-T-T-A-(gamma)-O-P.....   which is pronounced "ATTAGOR..."

Heck if I know   :dunno:

Just another aerial view of three bridges crossing the Corinth Canal (2 steel, 1 concrete).

do you guys think there could be an Elim Leg with a Fast Forward ? ( What I'm tryimg to figure out is if Oman might be the NEL or not ? Can you imagine begging in the desert ? )
anyway lets look at the clues again

Were almost sure of a few things ,
Rome ( DaVinci Code task by all teams , I assume so)
Teams go to Athens ( detour in Athens ? not sure of the other option )
Fran is ascared at the Roadblock ( Corinth Canal Bungee )
TPTB are hiding Eric & Jeremy from the Detour & Roadblock ( it just maybe they are light years ahead of the other teams , we know that in at least one preview a week they hide at least on team for whatever reason ?)

the clues sure sound like they are in order
I know last leg we had " One Duo gets lost on the way to the Roadblock and ends up at the Pitstop instead, will this mistake jeopardize their position in the race?" and they did , what the show didn't show us was that MoJo came to the pitstop before the Roadblock as well as L&M but much later ,which made the clues in order .

TEAMS PARTICIPATE IN A SPECIAL "DA VINCI CODE" -- THEMED CHALLENGE WHICH STARTS IN ITALY AND SENDS THE TEAMS RACING TO ATHENS, GREECE

"Herculean Effort For Some Herculean Dudes" --
1)Teams participate in a special "Da Vinci Code"-themed challenge in which teams are given a portion of Da Vinci's famed "Vitruvian Man" and must find the other half in order to solve the clue

2)While Racing through Greece, teams return to ancient times and compete in Olympic games that include a grueling bout in the mud with a Greek wrestler.
3)During a roadblock, teams face a 240-foot bungee jump off the Corinth Canal bridge and one racer becomes paralyzed with fear.
4)Several teams make a crucial mistake when they fail to follow the clue's directions correctly.
5)Meanwhile, a lack of focus and confusion plagues several teams who get lost while driving, and their frustration fuels an emotional breakdown for one team.

1.  CBS announced on CBS Sunday Morning during  promo for TES that the next team castoff from TAR would be on the show Thursday (included visual of racers and title card)

2. "teams get lost while driving" sort of indicates that they drive at least somewhere.

3.  Think Roadblock comes first at Corinth Canal.  Then Detour in Ancient Olympia.  Pitstop in either Ancient Olympia or Nafplio

I'm starting to think like " no Fast Forward and no NEL " Gman , I'm in Olympia now and cant find anyplace yet that matches what little we see of where they are , telephone or powerlines seen running through as well as that huge ODD tree , i'm still looking aroung :yaya:

but the Olympics 2004 is in Athens and not in Olympia so the detour doesn't have to be in Olympia.

The site of the original Olympic Games in 776BC was at Ancient Olympia about a five and a half bus or car trip from Athens. The games were forbidden and cancelled in AD393 by Emperor Theodosius I since the Christians considered them to be a pagan ritual!

The modern Olympic games were revived by Baron Pierre de Coubertin in Athens in 1896.  This was the site used again for some events in 2004.

I always had my doubts about ancient Olympia, being just too far out of the way.  Just for kicks, try ancient Corinth.  The Temple of Apollo ruins there kinda-sorta-almost-maybe look like some structure in the previews.  (The terrain is not so good a match, though). But, it's close to the canal and on the road to Nafplio.  Just a guess.

There's some ruins at Corinth, but the temple of Apollo (source) isn't close enough to call a match.

There is better weather data for Athens Eleftherios.

It says that the rains came from 6:50 am to 1:50 pm and from 3:50 to 7:50 pm.  But, since it is not Corinth there may be a delay for the storm cell to reach there.

Is it raining for all of our jumpers?

For sure Fran n Barry , its pouring
the film is really dark when Tyler is jumping so I can't say .
Ray is hard to say , I'll see what I can do for raindrops .
Mo-Jo are seen running on a canal bridge towards the zulu bungee and its a downpour .
Lake has his orange hood up over his head while watching Michele .
of course we dont see Eric & Jeremy .

we think this is Yolanda also running on a path /bridge near the canal, hood up?
  Tyler

  Mr Evil

when Ray is throwing the spear Monica is throwing the disc ,it doesnt look like its raining ( thanks banzai)

you can see the rain when BJ & Tyler are wrestling

nice banzai

hey do you think Mo is on a train ?

www.boostdam.net/.../ TrainAthensNafplio.html

But if it is a train, why is she wiping a tear off from beneath her eye?  And why does she still have the hood of her parka still up?  Finally, it looks more like a bus than a train window.

I think E&J are under a bridge or going through a tunnel ?

Don't think they are driving through a tunnel.  In the live video of this scene you can spot what looks like cars parked under a bridge abutment out of the window over Jeremy's shoulder.  This could be at a bus station in Athens, perhaps Terminal A, 100 Kifissou Street, from which the KTEL intercity buses leave.  Regular bus service to Corinth every half hour from 6:30AM to 5:30PM a 1 hour 30 minute trip. And to Nafplio every two hours from 6:00AM to Noon, a 2 hour and 30 minute trip. Or to Olympia at 9:30AM and 10:45AM a 5 hour and 30 minute trip.

Or they could be arriving or leaving the lower level of the Rome or Athens airport.

Another place to check is Ancient Nemea where the Three Doric columns of the Temple of Zeus stand out in an isolated rural valley and are readily visable from afar.  Ancient Nemea is about half way between Ancient Corinth and Nafplio and is easily reached by car via highway E65.

Are we sure that the team go to Nafplio?  Have I missed a pix somewhere?
