For the site of the canoe polo road block, try the town of Siracusa.  This town is south of Catania and boasts world champion canoe polo team.  A quick Google Earth (love this program) search shows a canal like area on a penisula of downtown Siracusa.

Some of the structures in GE don't match, but that could have changed since the images were taken. I double-checked with webshots (source) and the buildings look like a match. Good job.

Camera di Commercio in Siracusa.  Looks like a match for the building behind Lake.

The yellowish building (Hotel) on the left, with the rooftop restaurant (maybe), is where Lake was standing.

If so puddin, where is Michelle?  Also, Lake doesn't look happy.  Could the reason be that they come in last (please please please)??  I hope so

Lake's confession takes place during the day.  The gray sky is similar to other vidcaps at the canoe polo Roadblock.  I imaging the gray sky is going to make it difficult for anyone to figure out time of the day based on shadows.

Lake ( voice dubbed while driving , his mouth doesn't move) :Michele is navagating , she still has a little room to grow there.

If Camera di Commercio is the pitstop (white arrow), then it's not far away from the kayak roadblock (green arrow).

Edited to add: More likely, however, given the preference of TPTB to use local monuments as pitstops, another possible candidate for pitstop could be Castello Maniace, a little further from the roadblock, at the very tip of the peninsula.  But we have no vidcaps to back up this guess, whatsoever.

If the arrow points to where Lake is standing, is that the roof of a building or a parking lot.  If it is at ground level, it would not be possible to get the shot of Lake with the top of the building even with his head.  He must be on top of some structure to get the shot shown. In the other shot of the Camera di Commercio it looks like a piazza is in front of the building.

Google sure is a lot of fun, RJ.  You can usually Google the addresses in a search engine and later find the street name on Google Earth.  Try checking the little box at the bottom of GE that says "Roads", and the street names may overlay on the GE picture.  After that it's just hit and miss, and hours and hours of mind numbing searching.

You are a bit confused, gingerman.  The green arrow is pointing to where lake is standing during the Kayak Roadblock, NOT in the post race pitstop picture.  Please go back and check page 7 again.

That makes sense now, can we identify the building?  Is it perhaps the hotel they will be spending their 12 hour mandatory rest period in? That's where the confessionals usually take place.

This statement "'I'm still..."  says they are still in it to me.  I wish otherwise.  They could be last and NEL and do separate pit stop confessionals.
