Hey, I'm new to the Amazing Race as I just decided to start watching from the beginning of this season. So I just have a quick question about the roadblock/detour rules. I was wondering if a detour could be before a roadblock during the race. I'm asking this because in the preview for next week's episode, Dave and Lori are looking for a clue in the laundry with the Ds and LM. And then they show Dave and Lori having trouble doing the roadblock which is building the statue. So essentially I was just wondering if the Detour where they are all together is before or after the roadblock where Dave and Lori are having trouble. Thanks

Hi akumar, There is no rule that I know of that makes RBs before or after Detours.

Hmmm...the way the third clue is written makes me think that either BJ/Tyler or Eric/Jeremy can't find the roadblock. It says give up their position in the race and that makes me think that they are losing ground to the other teams. Both groups haven't come across any problems yet to this point and with the way they have cruised through the first 3 legs without problems makes me think they are more prone to make a huge mistake.

I agree with Puddin that it could be Lake and Michelle that got lost. One of the promo pictures show them with the D's looking through the laundry. So the last team at least caught up with them. Unless there was some big time bunching leaving Germany.

I thought Segesta amd Sicily were going to be in Episode 6. Surely there are other smalll amphitheatres near Rome where they could be assmbling the statues. It's probably not the Colliseum, but some other site on the Italian mainland.

If that picture of Joseph is from the amphitheatre in Sicily, then MO/JO is safe in Ep5 that leaves 7 others to take a hit in Rome.

No double leg in Rome since we have EP6 description saying Sicily. TV Guide also tells us that the Detour is either CARRY or SELL; and the ROADBLOCK is Kayak polo.

From looking at lots of webshot pictures of the Segesta theater this looks like the definate spot for the statues (complete with mountain and tree on the right side). BUT, Jo is wearing a different shirt in these two shots. ~~Perhaps the other is in Greece?~~ BTW, why is he opening a clue by himself? Don't teams always open clues togther - even after a roadblock?

Wait ... Jo is wearing his MoJo shirt in the church bells pics. What's up? That is Jo with the red sleeves, isn't it?

First guess. Could DETOUR be either find a clue in the Laundry, or carry a heavy church bell? The ROADBLOCK we know is to assemble a statue body parts provided at the amphitheatre.

Looks to me like most of the scenes we have been shown are from Sicily and not Rome. Just a wild guess.

You may be right, gingerman. Looks like the "Rome" spoiler was wrong. So how does this square with the Ep. 5 and Ep. 6 TV Guide descriptions. There are lot's more task specific to Sicily described in Ep. 6. The Ep. 5 "build a statue" appears to be a roadblock as we only see Lori doing it. Didn't the desc. of Ep. 6 describe another roadblock. Could this be a double TBC episode?

Thats what I've been trying to say, NEL but with next weeks title it sure maybe a TBC
EP 6 TITLE "Sleep Deprivation is Really Starting to Irritate Me."

ETA Agreed about the RB being the statue and Bells/Laundry being the Detour but the Web clue is worded weird , so RB before detour ? or ?

I figured Eric is the only other person it could be but it sure looked like Jo to me at first. Maybe I need my eyes checked?

Hello all! This is my first post and I'm so happy to be here. You all are wonderful detectives and my love for the RACE has been multiplied since wondering your site. Great jobs!!!

I think the shot of Jo could be him just re-reading the clue. Maybe a side interview while Mo is doing the roadblock.

I also think that D & L are the two doomed to miss the pitstop. It so dark when they are there as compaired to the others. I sure hope I'm wrong on this.
Is there a way to compare the shots we have of the moon behind Lori with the sun behind any of the other racers to see how much time has elapsed?
