Thanks for the links Kogs.  After viewing the clip for BJ & Tyler (my fav team), I don't think they are as compatible as they appear.  BJ doesn't have any sense of time and likes to take naps.  Huh???  Tyler appears hyperactive, so should make for some funny moments.  Are they the winners?, not so sure now.

Wow, the old team look really buff.  They might be the dark horse team this year.  Go Geritol!

As head of the Unit, Jonas Blane (Haysbert) leads his team on missions out in the field and is responsible for taking elite new recruit Bob Brown (Foley) under his wing. The Unit includes Jonas, Colonel Tom Ryan (Patrick), Mack Gerhardt (Martini), Charles Grey (Irby), Hector Williams (Barnes) and Bob Brown, all highly skilled soldiers, whose ability to rely on each other in life-threatening situations creates their unique brotherhood. Jonas' wife, Molly (Taylor), is the base matriarch who comforts and counsels "the unit's" wives as they cope with the fear and uncertainty they experience when their husbands leave home. I was never very good at math, but I count only 12 possible episodes from Feb.28 till CMA on May 23.   :-\
Is it really possible CBS would have 15 episodes (as that would require 6 Non-eliminations or To Be Continued)?

OK, just read Kogs post.  15 may be possible.  Premier = 2 epiosdes, Finale = 2 episodes, and 1 mid-season double episode

Smart move by the suits at CBS if this is correct and that after the premiere the show time will move to 10:00PM EST instead of the usual 9:00PM.  This puts it out of competition with that ratings killer of all killer programs "American Idol".

First episode runs the traditional two hours but I think that this will be considered just one leg as it has always been in the past.  Usually includes a lot of travel and an overnight under the stars somewhere - that's why they seem to travel to warm climates during first episode.  Iceland was an exception but it was summer then.

If we follow the usual patterns (what the heck is usual for this series?) the last show will be a two-hour finale on Tueday, May 16.  This would be 11 legs with one double leg (two shows) in the middle somewhere (possibly Australia) That would leave three teams for the final two hour leg.

The finale that I think to be premiere on May 30, 1 week after the Annual Country Music Awards. (U.S. time), is the week after the finale of American Idol 5.

Given how the Premiere date starts exactly 52 weeks (a.k.a. one day earlier than last year), I believe that the possibility of a May 9 finale is pretty strong.  The only possible scenario is for there to be a two-hour mid-season Special Episode (NEL followed by an elimination), and for the recap to air on a different night (Wednesday).

Here's a sample: If the schedule matches TAR7 and its schedule, TAR9 could look something like this:

02/28/06: TAR9-01
03/07/06: TAR9-02
03/14/06: TAR9-03
03/21/06: TAR9-04
03/28/06: TAR9-05 & 06 (NEL then Philimination)
04/04/06: TAR9-07
04/11/06: TAR9-08A
04/18/06: TAR9-08B
04/25/06: TAR9-09
05/02/06: TAR9-10
05/09/06: TAR9-11 & 12 (NEL then Race to the Finish Line)


This is just speculation, but if TPTB stick to its 11-episode format, this is possible.  Even with TAR airing at 10, there could still be a two-hour episode somewhere in the middle (if not March, in April, switching places with the TBC episodes).  It makes sense because who wants to sit through several 1-hour Non-elimination episodes?  At least that's what I hope doesn't happen.  But it's possible that there aren't any 2-hour mid-season episodes (and there should be since TARFE had one and this version goes back to the glory days of TAR we hope) and the finale is on May 16, but with Survivor's finale likely to air on May 7 (which doesn't seem possible now, since it looks like the season could end as early as April 23 or 30), I would assume that TPTB would want both big reality shows ending around the same time or in the same week.

I guess it's too early to tell.  I'm not a detective or someone that's on the inside and doesn't know the schedule yet.  I'm just a TAR fan who has a big imagination and predicts/speculates a lot of stuff based on what I have or see.  I do have to say that we might want to rule out May 30, because that's on day removed from Memorial Day (obversed that is, since May 30 is the real Memorial Day), and likely out of the sweeps period.
