those playing MW ..its still unlocked . Hey you never know?

Phil voice:

Previously, five families left Costa Rica, where Tony struggled to stay afloat. At the Detour, he sang another tune. Then, Linz took the lead back to the USA and the Godlewskis were left behind. A lucky break landed the sisters 1st in Arizona. The families raced superkarts at the Roadblock, and the Weavers were nervous. Linda stepped up, so her children didn't have to. Godlewskis rode to the pitstop 1st, and the Paolos finished last. The next morning, Brian Paolo struggled with the task. The Paolos lost direction. Along the way, Weaver annoyed Godlewski and angered Linz. At a watery detour, Linz took a lead, but Godlewskis won the leg after a mistake put their lead in jeopardy. Paolos fought to the finish but ended last and were eliminated.

Four families remain. Who will be eliminated next?

Credits roll.

Phil: This is Lake Powell, AZ, formed by the flooding of the desert after the dam was constructed. The eighth pitstop.

Will Weavers continued alienation affect their performance?
Can Linz finally win a leg?

Godlewski, 5:45 am, CLUE: Drive yourselves 136 miles to Monument Valley, UT, a Navajo Tribal Park.
Phil: They'll find John Ford's point for the next clue.

Linz depart close behind.
Godlewskis drive Hwy 98 West.
Linz going 98 East.

Weavers leave, 6:06 am.
Conf: The world we live in is not loving and kind ... we can't let it bother us
Bransens leave, 6:27 am.
Wally, unconvincingly, conf: We're gonna try to be more aggressive.

The Linz miss a sign and wonder if they should turn around.
They decide not to turn around.
Desperate housewives fall to 3rd behind Weaver.
Housewife: How is it FLORIDA (in front of us) !?!?

Godlewskis see the Monument Valley Park sign, pass it, then turn around. Dragging trailer, realize they missed the turn also. They maneuver around the scrub and get back on the road. They pass the Weavers and Linzes still on the road.

Bransens arriving in the general vicinity, comment on the tension between the leading teams *maybe* benefitting them.

Looking down: Four teams in an air shot, all in the same camera angle.

Weaver, Linz run for position.

Weaver, CLUE: Take a helicopter ride to the summit of Elephant Butte.
Phil voice: First come first served, teams choose 2 to ride, and the helo has room for 2 teams at a time.

THE CLUE is pulled by Linz.
Godlewski pull #2.
Linz realize they forgot to pull a number, and get #3.
Bransen, #4.

Post-helicopter CLUE, Rolly: Make your way to Moab, Utah.
Phil: Find this rock formation, Gemini Bridges.

Linz, on the ground: I wanna get in front of that Florida team! I'mma throw down that YIELD so quick!

Godlewski: We got a deal. Whichever of us gets there first.

Linz rode helicopter alone, meaning the Bransens are really far behind.

Linz, 3rd, head for Moab.
Bransens, last, FINALLY arrive for the helicopter ride.

Lots of goofy Weaver confessionals on the Road to Bountiful .. er .. Moab.

Linz pass Weavers like they're standing still.
Rolly: It's 'cause we're only doing 51 MPH.

Linz conf: Someone's gonna drop a house on her head.

Linz, DETOUR. Drop down, or ride down.
Ride: Bikes into the canyon, 6 miles down.
Drop: A 2-stage rapel, then follow marked path for the clue.

Weaver kid: I haven't learned ONE thing about Utah.
Mom Weaver: I have. It's the Mormon state.

Mom Weaver may be kart-shy, but she's bike-happy.
Mom: I always wanted to ride a bike with you all!
They'll ride the 6 miles down, while the Linzes take the rapel.
Weaver daughter starts walking bike downhill.
Rolly: We're not gonna be able to do this.
Weaver daughter: SHOOT!

COMMERCIAL.

Episode 8-9 - How's That Face Feel?
We are in (literally) Lake Powell, Arizona, on a houseboat serving as the eighth Pit Stop in a race that has barely taken us past the equator. At this Pit Stop, teams have a chance to eat, sleep, do confessionals and mingle with each other. Except the Weavers, because they adhere to on of "Stone Cold" Steve Austin's mottos - "Don't Trust Anyone". We saw teams fly planes, enjoy the splendours of the Grand Canyon (except the Weavers) and bail out boats. And in the end, a missed route forced the Paolo family into Sequesterville.

The Godlewski sisters, who were the first team to arrive, are the first to leave at 5:45am. They rip open the clue, which tells them to travel 136 miles to Monument Valley, Utah and John Ford's Point in order to find their next clue. They get to land to find that they have camper vans.

Linz, 5:46am. They feel that they HAVE to win this leg.

Godlewski say they're taking 98 West. The Linzes are heading along 98 East.

Weaver, 6:06am. They talk about being alienated and not letting it bother them.

Godlewski girls get gas. Weavers don't want to know what the others are doing. Godlewskis note that they have to head along 98 East.

Bransen, 6:27am. Wally says that they'll try to be more aggressive.

Linzes overshoot the point. They're a bit pissed. Weavers also pass the marker and don't think anything about it. Godlewskis overshoot and try to turn around. We get funny music as the girls try at 135-point turn. Meanwhile, the Weavers just turn wide and head back, laughing at the "Desparate Housewives". Very Christian, folks.

Weavers reach John Ford's Point first and look for the clue. Godlewski and Linz are close behind. Weavers grab a number from the number box and find that two team members must take a helicopter to Elephant Butte (mini Roadblock) to get their next clue. The helicopter takes two teams each. Linzes get the clue first, but miss the numbers and Godlewski gets number 2.

Weaver and Godlewski fly off, while Linz and the remaining Godlewski girls strike a deal to Yield the Weavers if they can.

The teams get back and find that they have to drive 180 miles to Mohab, Utah and the Gemini Bridges.

Linzes go on their own as the Bransens haven't arrive. They leave the area, and the Bransens arrive. The girls admire the view while they fly.

Meanwhile, the Weavers also admire the view by noting that Utah has a whole lot of nothing. The Linzes. By contrast, make up names for the rock formations. They also pass the Weavers and give a "first down" signal as they pass.

Linzes arrive to the Gemini Bridges and find a Detour - Drop Down or Ride Down
Ride Down - Bike a six mile course down the canyon to find the clue.
Drop Down - Perform a 270 foot, two-stage rappel down the canyon and take a path to the clue.

Linz decide to Drop Down. Weavers arrive later and choose to Ride Down. Linzes are having fun, while the Weavers are having a lot of trouble, and they're rethinking their Detour Choice.

Weavers get it going again, with a "Jeez" from Rolly.

Linzes do the rapel, as if it's drudgery.
Even the "whoo-hoo!" is half-hearted.

Weaver daughter: I don't even think Lance Armstrong could do this!

Bransens, now in 3rd, choose to rapel.
They see the Linzes, already descending.
Beth Bransen goes first.
Dad expresses his fear of heights.

CLUE, Linz: Drive yourselves to Green River State Park, Utah.
Phil: This is where they'll spend the night and depart based on the order in which they arrive.
Linz: Sooner we arrive, sooner we leave.

Bransens gain precious ground on Weavers ...
Phil: Due to a production error, the Godlewskis battery drained. A replacement vehicle was provided, but they had fallen into last place

Linz, arriving at Park.
Woman: You're first!
Linz: Thank you!
Sorry, missed the Linzes' departure time.

Godlewskis leave for the park.

Weaver, 2nd to Park.
Woman: You're out at 7:15 am.
Bransen, 3rd.
Woman: You're outta here 10:30 tomorrow morning.
Godlewskis will leave ... was that 7:45 pm? Sheesh!

Lots of boring confessionals which we've already heard said in other ways.
1. Weavers, alone
2. Others hate them

We're back, and Mama Weaver gives Rebecca a lesson in how to use the gears on her bike.

Meanwhile, the Bransens reach the Detour third, and choose to Drop Down. Wally seems apprehensive. The Bransens reach the cliff as the Linzes finish and get their next clue. It tells them to drive 52 miles to Green River State Park, where they'll be spending the night. The departure time depends on the time they arrive. Hey, it's just like a Pit Stop!! Except it's not.

The Godlewskis arrive in fourth due to a production error - they had to get a replacement vehicle. Wow, that sucks. Anyways, they choose to Drop Down.

The Weavers manage to finish the Detour, while Christine Godlewski gets a little hung up on the rappel. The Bransens finish up and head out. The Godlewskis finish up and head out.

The Linzes arrive at the Park first and find out that they'll be leaving at 7:00am. The Weavers are second and will leave at 7:15am. Bransens will leave at 7:30am, and Godlewski at 7:45am.

The Linzes have some fun outside, while the Weavers stay inside their campers and complain that noone wants to talk to them. They note that they've tried to be friendly (just as D.J. Paolo) but it isn't reciprocated. They hate it.

CLUE, Linz, 7 am.
Drive to Heber City, UT and find Bart.
Phil: Bart's a bear, an 1100 pound trained grizzly who'll give them the next clue.

Weaver, 7:15, take CLUE and head for Bart.

Linzes think waterfall is "cool!"

Bransens, 3rd to leave.
Godlewskis, "last to depart 7:45 am."

Linz, arrive and find the town, then find Bart with a clue in his mouth.
Linz, CLUE: Make your way to Utah Olympic Park.

Weavers see the Linz leaving in the opposite direction.
Mom yells at daughter to drive!!
Linzes covet the upcoming YIELD.

Weavers, find Bart, and CLUE, in 2nd.
"CAUTION! YIELD AHEAD!"
Mom: Omigosh! We gotta get there for the yield!
Weavers take a "dinky little road" which might prove shorter.
There are mountainbikers making it slow, though.

Bransen, 3rd, will take the main drag, Hwy 40.

Godlewski, 4th, get CLUE from Bart.

Godlewskis argue about what road to take.
Linz see "Olympic Park, LEFT" sign.
Mom Weaver is on 92, but it's a narrow cowpath.
Daughter: It said scenic route. We can't turn around (with the trailer) here. Now we're gonna have to wait the YIELD.

Linz, MARKER.
Phil: This is the second YIELD of the race.
Linz, YIELD Weaver.

Linz, CLUE.
ROADBLOCK.
Phil: One person must put on skis, and ride down a ramp 60 feet and do a freestyle jump into the water.

Bransens, 2nd to Park.
Dad: Weavers haven't gotten here yet.
Daughter: Awesome!

Well, at least homeboy fell face-first for YIELDing the Weavers.
CLUE: Make your way to the next pitstop.
Phil: Atop the City Library, one of the most beautiful views of Salt Lake City.

Godlewskis, 3rd, as the Linz leave
Both teams celebrate the fact that they YIELDED the Weavers.

Poor Bransens.
That was a "freestyle jump"?
Umm .. no.

Godlewskis, leave Olympic Park in 3rd.
Voice: Let's get outta here before Florida comes! Hope it's elimination!

Weavers bemoan their fate in the woods.
Mom, resolute: We're last, we'll be done. We'll be eliminated.
Daughter: I can't believe it!

7:00am. The Linzes rip their clue and are told to head to Heber City, Utah and find Bart, an 1100 pound grizzly bear. They leave and admire the scenery. The Weavers depart and note that Utah is ugly. Bransen and Godlewski depart.

Linzes ask for directions from a lady. "That's a dude".

Linzes arrive, and giggle at meeting Bart. They get the clue and are told to head 22 miles to Park City, Utah and the Olympic Park. Oh, and there's a Yield ahead. They pass the Weavers on the way out. Bransens ask for directions. The Weavers encounter Bart and he's apparently the first nice thing they've seen in Utah. They pass Bransen on the way out.

Bransens get the clue from Bart. Godlewski get their clue.

The Linzes arrive at Olympic Park. The Weavers are taking the "scenic route". The Linzes reach the Yield mat (the second of two) and decide to Yield the Weavers, for separation purposes. The clue reveals a Roadblock - one team member must do a ski jump into a pool. Nick takes it.

Bransen arrive and Lindsey takes it. Nick goes and does a 270 flip. He gets the clue and is told to travel 28 miles to the Pit Stop in Salt Lake City and the City Library at the city centre. The last team to arrive may be eliminated.

Godlewski arrive and Christine takes it.

Lindsey does a Daffy into the water. They get their clue and are off. Christine does a face plant, but it still counts.

Weavers, meanwhile, whine and complain that they're done. While I hope so, it still might be non-elimination, so there's still hope.

You were right Mike-e

Narrow road ...
Mom: Accept it. It's okay. You know what, you guys? Take a deep breath, enjoy the ride, take what comes.

Linz: Maybe Mom Weaver got eaten by the bear!

On the highway ...
Godlewski: I can't wait to see Florida's reaction! Haha!

Mom: We'll just have to eat ice cream.
Finally they reach the parking lot, joking they're the first ones to arrive.
Seeing the YIELD: YY!!!
Mom: We knew it was coming. Two teams have been downright rude.
Daughter: I've never been so disliked in my life!

Linz ask directions to the City library.
Bransens find it on the map.
Linz run up stairs.
Voice: I'm COMING, Phil!

Miss Latin Utah: Welcome to Salt Lake City.
Phil: Linz, you're team #1. No prizes. No, I have some good news. A trip for 4 to Jackson Hole, WY.

pbp cont..

Rolly jumps.
Sister: I just want to be eliminated.
Other sister: I do, too!

Finally making it to the top ...

Miss Latin Utah: Welcome to Salt Lake City.
Phil: Weaver family, you're the last team to arrive.
Voices: Yes!
Phil: I'm pleased to tell you, this is a non-elimination leg, and you're still in the race.
Just Rolly: Yay!
Phil: That's the most unenthusiastic reaction!
All: Yeah.
Phil: I have to take everything except the clothes on your back. But I don't see a hunger. Ready to pack it in?
Mom: I don't know if I'm in for this personal stuff. Don't know if it's worth it.
Phil: Do you know teams have come from last and won?
Mom, conf: Phil's words of encouragement gave me life. Yielded twice, lost on a mountain? We're not ready to stop now. We're ready to win!

Wow. I'm just reading the coverage :thankyou: (haven't seen the episode yet), but the spoiler was right--every bit of it. Impressive. It looks like the PAs who handle the information flow dropped the ball on this one. Too bad Hysteria can't upload the papers--it would be interesting to see how the info is formatted.

The Weavers are the most hated team in this season. Period. If they were to be eliminated, I'd be so happy. I really mean it.
