I have to admit something about that Pantheon picture.  When I took it (summer of 2003) I had forgotten all about the cat.  I just took it to get the pendulum.  Then, when the GSN showings started I thought:   Oh, was the cat there?    {l{

BACK TO THE SCHEDULE:

Ep 7 - First Hour could the "you look rediculous" be a comment by Phil as the last team comes in and has learned from the Godlewski Sisters to pile all your clothing on if you think you are running last which could mean that Ep 7 (First Hour) would be a NONELIMINATION LEG. Pit stop in either Cosa Rica or Arizona to be determined.

Ep. 8 - Second Hour is set in Arizona and would be an ELIMINATION LEG with a pit stop at the La Puesta del Sol.(Sixth of Seven elimination legs)

Ep. 9 - (Nov. 22) The teams "are taken to new heights" could refer to hot-air balloon ride in Park City, Utah. With only four teams, this is a NON ELIMINATION LEG

Ep. 10 - First Hour, Nov. 29 Wyoming/Montana ELIMINATION LEG (Seventh of Seven elimination legs - as announced by Phil at start of the series.)

Ep. 11 - Second Hour, Nov. 29 Toronto/Montreal/Niagra Falls - Final finish line.

I did my utmost and got CBS to switch the finale of TAR8 to the end of the November Sweeps (Nov. 29); on Dec. 13 I plan to be halfway across the Atlantic toward Paris to begin our Christms/New Year holiday in Germany and Austria (with a side trip to Budapest to check up on TAR6 locations) but having the finale of TAR8 in the midst of pre-Christmas re-runs did not make any kind of sense at all. Hopefully, we will see the finale stretched out to two hours, otherwise it is going to be awfully cramped to get everything in from Whyoming, Montana, Montreal, Toronto, and Niagara Falls.

Have a great time in Hungary but:

1) Don't rent a Trabant

2) Don't sleep on a bench outside a railway station

3) Don't drink any blood

4) Don't rent a boat and try to row across the Danube

5) Watch out for the gate at the Railway Museum

6) And, most of all, take it easy if you order that spicy stew

Despite all that, Hungary seems like a great place to visit  >*&

I guess it is alright to visit the Internet Cafe.

Actually, we probably will dine at the Gundel Ertterem which is one of the really great restaurants in the world, but I will stay away from ordering Halaszle (that's the spicy carp soup poor Victoria couldn't handle) Marhaporkolt Tarhonyaval is more my style (spicy goulash)

Make sure you ride one of the taxis with the Marilyn Club advertisement.  And find that cabbie who dumped Jonathan.  He gets big thanks!

Good choice, Slowhatch, but the Gundel Palacsinta do not travel well because the flambeed pancakes and especially the chocolate sauce mess up the suitcase something awful!

i keep reading about the surprise at the mat. i'm beginning to think it's going to be like survivor in that they arrive but phil doesn't tell them their place. just that the race is over and they'll do it live at the finale. that would be surprising. what i would wonder is if the other teams are waiting there for them or not? would be tough to keep it quiet if they were.

What if the last clue doesn't say race to the finish line. It just says go to the pitstop and they don't know it's the finish line until they arrive. Now that would be a surprise!!

Past races knew when they got back in the states it was the finish but that's not the case in family edition.

The people at TWOP are investing in 13 Dec as a finale date: they've already booked Planet Hollywood in Times Square.

On the contest rules for the CBS Amazing Race Fantasy Challenge it states the finale as December 13th. It also doesn't sound like a double episode.

Game begins at the start of Episode 4 of Amazing Race 8 currently scheduled for 9:00 PM ET on 10/18/05 and ends at approximately 10:00 PM ET on 12/13/05 or with the conclusion of the East Coast broadcast of the final episode of Amazing Race 8 whichever occurs first.

I'm not playing, I was just snooping around the site looking for any info or clues. I don't have any BP's in my area either. Ya think it will be just 1 hour and they'll have the 4th team elimination at the end of the Dec. 6 show?

Has anyone determined if the Dec 13 finale is 2-hours?  If so, that makes it more likely that tomorrow (11/29) will be a "to be continued" surprise on the mat, with the next and last elimination on Dec. 6 before the final 3 teams race to the finish.  There may still be a non-elimination at the end of the next-to-last leg, as Uchenna and Joyce can attest.

rmax , CBS has not released the finale details yet ....waiting and waiting  :ballX:
Id say were 99.9% sure tomorrow is a to be cont ..with that we may only need to find out who comes in first for the MW game ..like TAR 7 all we saw were Rob & Amber at the mat then the Phil famous eyebrow .
