Topic: How many applicants were there?

Just curious,
Does anybody know how many teams auditioned in person and/or via sending in a tape?

I have a friend who wants to know how much competition she's up against  >*&

Usually with shows like this, and this is a guess based on other shows, its about 50,000 people applying. But this is a guess based on what I have heard in the past!!!

At the beginning of TAR6, 45 that is 45 teams were sequestered in a Los Angeles hotel while the final contestants were being selected.  Of these final teams, 11 were selected to begin the race in Chicago.  Not very good odds even if you make it to the final selection process!!!

According to "25 Things You Didn't Know About Reality TV:" There are about 15,000 tapes sent in for The Amazing Race...So, roughly 30,000 people apply each season....

Good Luck...I think they are looking at personalities, will they be good TV...can they be a villian, a fan favorite, the team you keep rooting for?
