good call, they must be staying for that leg. i can see a few teams responsible for this one liner. mostly lynn and alex. but don't you think that it would be even funnier from the best friends, debbie and bianca? maybe the mom to the son? don't see this from one of the couples for some reason except for maybe the older folks.

and rmax, rotfl!!!! they absolutely must bring back charla and mirna for all stars if they ever do that.

Looks like pit stop number three is in Argentina.  That is another country.  South America is a continent and they could be in a different country for leg three. It looks like leg four will be in Argentina also.  Then perhaps on to Londontown.

Gaucho is also how people who live in the south of Brazil are called, so maybe they came here in Brazil...

NEXT TIME ON .. THE AMAZING RACE:

Phil voice: Rob/Amber attempt an aggressive move.
Amber, back of cab, daytime: If we caught up, they'd die!
Rob, driving: Who cares? They're striving to be like us.

Phil voice: Joyce takes a wild ride ...
Joyce gets tossed from a horse.
Uchenna, sitting on a haystack, grimaces.

Phil voice: ... while Deana breaks down.
Deana, tossed from a horse.
Deana, sobbing: I can't! I can't!
Ray, coldly: You either stay on that horse, or we go home.

This looks like another TAR twist: starting the day off early with a ROADBLOCK! We have two teams doing the task: Joyce for U/J with Uchenna sitting on a hay bale; and Deana for R/D with Ray giving her hell from the sidelines. So this sure looks like a ROADBLOCK. Check the sun which gives us some idea of the time frame. Behind Uchenna we can see the sun just starting to hit the top of the trees while the horse rink in the foreground is still in shadow as Joyce rides.  In the next sequence when Deana is riding the sun is out in full force and the shadows are almost directly under the horse. According to the almanac the sun rises at 6:20AM so it is now probably a little after that when we see U/J. The evening before the sun sets at 8:25PM and it looks like from the shadows that the first two teams arrived at the pit stop (L/A and U/J) in late afternoon maybe around 5PM. When Ray and Deanna arrived at the pit stop, the sun had set so it was after 8:25PM (M/G and S/P arrived much later when it was dark so it must be about 10PM for them. Now they may start off having to find a route marker first before going to the horse rink, or maybe they go directly there from the pit stop.

After that it is just speculation. Could it be that after the ROADBLOCK they are given directions to go to the Mendoza airport to catch a flight to LONDON? Maybe there are two flights of four teams each and they get the chance to sign up as they arrive. This would get our master game plan back in line with London the end of the fourth leg. There are flights out of Mendoza (MDZ) to Heathrow Airport London (LHR) via Buenos Aires, or Santiago, Sao Paulo, Madrid, and Paris. The first connecting flight leaves MDZ at 8:10AM arriving in London the next day at 8:10AM; or a flight at 9:50AM arriving in London the next day at 9:25AM or a flight on LAN via Santiago, Chile connecting to three different flights one through Sao Paulo, one through Paris and one through Buenos Aires all three arriving within 15 minutes of each other at 1:00PM the next day.

Until more vidcaps show up, we just have the first ROADBLOCK to reckon with. And it looks like it will start their day.

G'Man.  How about this for a bold move since Rob and Amber are so far behind Lynn and Alex?

Fly to London.  Lynn and Alex fly to Heathrow.   Rob and Amber get a much faster flight but it goes to Gatwick.  They then take public transportation to Heathrow.  Rob and Amber catch up even though they began the day hours behind.

according to your fligth info . . . .maybe rob and Amber rsik driving farther to get a better flight out of a different airport

{l{ it was a rush job banzai .. not too many clues . Lots of focus on Joyce ( shes safe) and Ray & Deana..sounds like they are in last place? Are the bus pictures recycled ? Maybe someone can see if they match up to EP2 when Rob bribed the driver lock the backdoors  {l{ .
The search for the right shipwreck in the photo must be the detour? ..I bet Gretchen & Merideth are the ones to find it first  {l{ ..so lucky .
also I wrote to Julie Chenn and am waiting for a reply about when the eliminated contestants will be on The Early Show .

In regards to The Early Show, CBS may have got smart and realized they were tipping their hand by having the eliminated couple on TES the next day EXCEPT for the non-elimination days. So if no bootees were promoed for the next day on Wednesday's TES we all knew that it was a NEL. Besides the interviews were pretty dull since they could not really reveal much that had not already been aired. So I think CBS just to keep us guessing just did away with the interviews and saved the expense of flying the teams to New York.

I have been thinking...What about Rob and Amber going for the fast forward?  Could that be their bold move?

night shot...is this because they left late the next day?  I will nto be sad if s/p are gone.....when is non elimination ususally? leg 4 or 5?

Note that Uchenna has a long-sleeved white shirt on in the last two pictures (#33 and #34) while he starts the day with a short-sleeved blue shirt. Leg 4 could be a Fast Forward with leg 5 the first NEL.

Lynn and Alex will leave the mat at about 3:20 in the morning. In the insider video when they are with Phil they say that they are leaving around 3:20.

I think the Shipwreck will be in Argentina...I looked "shipwrecks Argentine river" up and got http://gosouthamerica.about.com/cs/southamerica/a/FalFlkndIslands_3.htm I can't find a picture of the boat in the preview. Seems like shipwrecks are pretty common all around Argentina. One sight says Ushuaia is known for many shipwrecks. Also the Rivers Plate and Parana have lots of wrecks.
The Prana river runs right by Buenos Aires which would be an excellent place for the task because it gives them easy access to the international airport in the city.

I think that Ferris Wheel or whatever it is might be part of Parce de la Costa amusement part which is right on the edge of Rio Tigre see the map here: http://www.parquedelacosta.com.ar/shows.html

Taregen,  I think you're on to something.  This link http://www.romartraveler.com/RomarPages/BuenosAires.html shows a ferris wheel on the water.  The article also mentions that El Tigre has lots of canals which may match up with the vidcap showing Ray and Deana ? walking next to one at night.

Gaucho is also how people who live in the south of Brazil are called, so maybe they came here in Brazil...

A Gaucho is a cowboy of the South American pampas, and the Pampas is the vast grassy plains of northern Argentina.

I'm guessing that this quote is said by one of the boyfriends as one does the roadblock (hence the cowboy but other teams could have said it as well..

Good observation....i bet they ahve to stay on the broncing horse for the 8 seconds....That will be hard.

Then why would Deana be just riding the horse around...?

And about the ferris wheel... I've been searching far and wide for about an hour now and couldn't find anything, I still think its in Argentina though but since shipwrecks are all over the place there its hard to narrow it down

EDIT: possibly here? http://www.primatesofpanama.org/pictures/environment/aeriallbl2.jpg   its the Tigre Islands around Buenos Aires

Pedaler, that picture with the ferris wheel matches up with the map of the amusement park I found. From looking at the picture in the preview I'm pretty sure that is a ferris wheel and not some other type of ride.

I think the episode will go like this:
Pit Stop to Roadblock (Bronco Riding)
Drive Self to Buenos Aires
Get clue search for shipwreck
Get clue fly to London (based on previous spoilers)
Detour in London
Pit Stop in London

The pic of S/P has to be the following night - they arrived very late and are going to leave in broad daylight (based on the fact that Lynn and Alex arrived at 3:20ish pm). M/G pic could be late in the afternoon there still seems to be a good amount of light glinting of their heads.

Don't know if this helps..they certainly do not look like regular riding horses..
Greg graduated from Auburn University with a B.S. in Radio, Television and Film. In addition to earning his degree, Greg also saw playing time as a walk-on football player at Auburn. Competitive like his brother, Greg’s favorite hobbies are playing basketball with his brother, tennis and horseback riding.
#15 Which Bro is this?

Why would he put his wife on a horse?
Uchenna grew up in Los Angeles and now works as an energy broker in Houston. Uchenna and his wife have been through some challenging financial and emotional times as of late. After several failed attempts to get pregnant, they tried in-vitro fertilization, but it was unsuccessful. Uchenna describes himself as competitive and extroverted, and he enjoys basketball, scuba diving and horseback riding.

I just can't see any way that Susan and Patrick can come in third so I don't believe the spoiler.  They finished too far behind the leading teams last leg.  I know there's always some bunching but I just can't see them making the same flight to Buenos Aires (?) that we see Uchenna/Joyce and Ron/Kelly on.

The spoiler is dubious at best..

Right guys I agree , Pat & Sue are at least 8 hours behind . If there is a FF this week they would not stand a chance getting to it first ..we know the other teams want to make up lost time . I'm not saying they come in last ..just no way third  (%#

The only way I can see S/P catching up is if there is an FF that no one else goes for and they get ahead - but not to the top of the pack.

Yeah, but if your so far behind, how can you know nobody has gone for the FF. You'd have to try it. Losing even more time.

In the last few seasons, its the first team that goes for it Colin, Adam & Bolo. Or the last team when they are bunched and nobody went for it Brandon & Nicole.

So, no FF miracle for S&P.

Also FF saves you some time, but not 6 hours.

The only team I'd see trying for the FF would be Romber. They know where the other teams are so they wouldn't be much risk (they'd lose maybe 30-40 minutes).

That "spoiler" from the fake site doesn't jive with Romber being seen in Africa (where is *that* spoiler located in the forum?), or is there some coincidence with the "Rob gets hurt" "spoiler"?

The more I think about it, the more likely Romber goes for the fast forward.

I'm expecting bunching of the top teams in the morning. That means its risky for them to go for the fast forward, since they could end up not getting to it.

Maybe the later teams are not bunched. If Rob knows that, then goiing for the FF would be the aggressive move were looking for.

I can just imagine how pissed off Alex would be if he showed up at the pitstop expecting first and find out Romber got there first!!! Hahaha So funny.

Thank you ,banzai  }^! Awesome you made my day !!
Agreed thats Patrick #52 skinny arms and same Tshirt as cap #65
#66 hard to say ..with the guide and camara man ..guessing for now the  Shipwreck /Photo hunt whatever what the teams think is the faster Detour Task since Ray mentions that he is embarressed to be in the back of the pack so would opt maybe for what he thinks is the faster one ..then of course we see Pat & Mom a night running near water.

We can place Merdith/Gretchen Urcheena/Joyce Ray/Deana Romber  maybe Pat & mom at the Detour .

Just saw a promo/ Romber for sure doing the shipwreck detour and then the Bro's high fiving each other somewhere  ( will watch for it again  )

Off to look for trains and subways [<[

Just my two cents but I think the photo of the brothers is in El Tigre.  It looks like they are on a sandy beach.  The object  in the background could be key.  I think this could be the other detour choice.

What do we have so far?

(1) ROADBLOCK seems to be the horsey-do which looks like it happens early in morning for some teams, therefore probably is in the Pampas area near Mendoza site of the Pit Stop. It looks like the rider has to race through a course around a series of barrels or a slalom race course, and at the end they must pass under a wire perhaps to grab something hanging. This may be a timed event and the rider has to complete the task in a predetermined time.  From the looks of the previews some teams do this early in the morning and others much later almost to noon time.

(2) The question is do they go directly to the horse ranch or do they have to find a famous landmark such as a statue of General San Martin first.

(3) The next event we have a preview of is the race around the various waterways in the Delta del Tigre area north of Buenos aires.

(4) The question is how do the teams get from Mendoza to El Tigre? Train or Bus? The scenes 19, 20, 21, and 22 show teams riding in some kind of conveyance but certainly not an airplane (windows are too big and there are no pole to stand next to on an airplane. Perhaps they drive. Does anyone know how far it is from Mendoza to BA? If there is a flight, this would be another natural bunching point of which we always seem to have at least one in each ep.

(5) The DETOUR, or at least one part of the detour seems to be to find a ship wreck that matches the picture they have received. The boat is being driven by a boatman and I guess the teams tell him where to go which tributary or stream to head up. This is similar to previous tasks.

(6) The question is if this is one task of the Detour, what is the other task?

(7) I do not think that Romber take the FF since there is a shot of them in a rubber boat racing some other team. If it were the FF they would not be racing another team nor would they be doing the same task as the other teams.

Just some thoughts to ponder over the weekend.

Detour , Gretch/Meredith Urcheena/Joyce  Ray/Deana  Rob/Amber (as seen in the BB pip / promo) "maybe" Pat & Sue

Roadblock Horse Barrel jumping whatever  Pat Deana Joyce and "maybe" Gregg or Brian also new vidcap we see  Lynn at the Roadblock..maybe watcing Alex .

Notably missing from any detour and Roadblock vidcaps , Ron & Kelly aside from the one shot of Kelly on the train ? Maybe they get to the Fast Forward first ? Just a guess.

Time to try to pull all the loose threads together to make some kind of sense of what we know and what we do not know about tIt sure looks like we stay in Argentina for all of EP4 and MAYBE, maybe we will leave South America at the start of EP5. But let's see what we have for this episode, and I am afraid once again we have more don't knows than knows:

We start off with all eight remaining teams at the Hacienda outside of Mendoza. It is estimated that the first team of Lynn and Alex arrived at around 3:30PM with the teams of Uchenna and Joyce and Gregg and Brian arriving shortly thereafter. The sun does not set until 8:25PM so everyone still in the game arrived before sunset except Patrick and Susan who arrive when it is really dark. That would mean that Alex and Lynn would be starting out at 3:30AM. But we have no scenes of anyone leaving the pit stop iin the dark, so we may be having a good case of bunchup before the sun rises at 6:20AM. It looks like the ROADBLOCK is the first task of the day and from the angle of the shadows and from the fact that the sun is just striking the tops of trees this activity must be starting off just after sunrise. But we do not know if the teams had to go somewhere first to get the clue to go to the horse ranch to do the ROADBLOCK.

There is a shot of Alex and Lynn running down a path through the grass that seems to be the location of the horse ranch. We see Joyce on the horse with Uchenna sitting on a hay bale with the  sun just striking a tree behind him. We may also see Lynn or Alex on another hay bale behind Uchenna. The task seems to be to ride the uppity horse through a slalom of barrels to reach a finish line with a rope stretched over it. It looks like the riders may have to grab a ring or something off the rope to complete the task, or the task must be completed in a certain amount of time (like others we have had in the past) we also have a picture of Brian looking out onto the coarse (with Gregg riding, although we do not see him) This is also early looking. Later we have Deana (or Dena, as CBS calls her!) having a good deal of trouble with her horse and the sun is now up pretty high which follows since Ray and Deana left in sixth position. I think that there also is a shot of Kelly on a horse and she is the one who rides under the finish rope.  If this is a ROADBLOCK, then the teams of Amber and Rob; Meredith and Gretchen; Susan and Patrick also must start off here but we have seen nothing of them yet.

Next we have a major gap in the story. Somehow the teams move from Mendoza to Buenos Aires. But how?  There is train service (slow) and you could drive (slower) or fly. Airlineas Argentinas has flights leaving Mendoza for Buenos Aires at 8:10AM arriving in BA at 9:42AM; 9:50AM arriving at 11:22AM and then not until 2:30PM arriving at 4:02PM and finally a flight leaving at 7:50PM and arriving at 9:22PM (not likely) If the first three teams are starting out shortly after sunrise they should perhaps be able to catch the 8:10AM, but more likely six teams may be able to catch the 9:50AM flight (and maybe all eight!)

We have shots of Deana and Uchenna and Joyce on what looks like a plane with the sun streaming into the windows as it would early in the morning.

Next we have the teams in Buenos Aires, most likely trying to find some landmark to get the next clue. Which I think will tell them to catch the Tren de la Costa (The Coast's Train) from Av. Maidu station North to the city of Tigre. The trains leave every 20 to 30 minutes from 7:30AM until midnight. Tigre is 30KMs north of the city and the trip takes about 25 minutes. We have shot of Rob and Amber on what looks like a train and of Lynn and Alex getting off the train. At the Delta Tigre station they may find their next clue for the DETOUR.

One half of the DETOUR seems to be to go out into the Parana Delta River which covers 14,000 square kms with thousands of islands. They must choose a rubber raft with pilot/guide and then instruct him on where to go to find a shipwreck which matches one in a picture they will have been given. So far we seem to have Rob and Amber; Meredith and Gretchen; Brian and Gregg; Uchenna and Joyce; Ray and Deana all accounted for in the boats. Perhaps also Alex and Lynn (not sure). So that still leaves Susan and Patrick and Ron and Kelly unaccounted for or doing the other task of the DETOUR which we have no clue to what it is.

This seems to take everyone until late in the day to accomplish which probably means that when they find the shipwreck they are given a clue to where the pitstop is.

Finally we have a scene which looks like it is pretty late at night with the El Tigre amusement park lit up in the distance and with Patrick and Susan running towards the camera. Last ones to arrive at the pit stop?

If anyone as more info to be able to fill in the missing blanks, lets have it now. his week's ep.

My feeling is that, looking at the possible departure time,  its impossible for suzan & patrick to make the 9h50 flight. They will thus be way, way behind the others. He should have eaten the meat instead of daddling. Still its probably non elim so they'll survive.

I do not think that we will see a Fast Forward this ep. For one thing the FF would have to be taken once the teams reach Buenos Aires since I doubt that the producers would let the team take an earlier flight out of Mendoza. And if they took the FF in Buenos Aires they would do a seperate task instead of doing one or the  other tasks in the Detour which doesn't give you much of an advantage. Have we had a NEL this early in TAR before?  It may be more likely to be in EP 5 I would think.

When was last season's non elim?

Lets see, Don & MJ saved by first Non-Elim in Senegal Leg (LEG4).

So, #6-7-8 only had one elimination. In fact, from #4 to #8 (5 episodes) there was only 2 elim

-------------------------------------------------
Iceland.   #1  (Lose A&V)
Norway   #2  (Lose M&M)
Sweden. #3  (Lose L&K)
Senegal. #4  (First Non-Elim)
Germany #5  (Lose D&MJ)
Hungary  #6-7 (Double Leg, kinda Non Elim, Lose G&H)
Corsica    #8  (Second Non Elim)
Ethiopia   #9  (Lose J&V)
Sri Lanka  #10  (Lose L&B)
China #1  #11  (Last Non-Elim)
China #2  #12   (Lose H&H)

I got beat to the punch. But I put all the race down.... Nyaaa

Well, who would get to it first?

There is four teams in front of them. Greg, Uchenna & Alex are the horsies.
Are Ron & Kelly also at the horses?

Are we sure that Amber & Rob are on the boats?

a better picture of the window . Don't know if it matters GMan already suggested that they probably fly  from Mendoza for Buenos Aires ..

I agree with Puddin that Rob tries to get the FF but is unsuccessful.

But I don't know about the previews.  I thought I saw Rob in a boat but he was wearing his long sleeve shirt like last week.  The person in the boat wasn't wearing what Rob is wearing in the Preview e-mail.

Thanks to ET tonight we can fill in some blanks. Somehow Romber pulls off an agressive move (not the FF) and they have caught up with Alex and Lynn and are on the same train from BA out to Tigre. The trains are more intrarcity trains like you find in Boston or San Diego rather than high-speed intercity trains. There fore you can see Rob standing up holding onto a post and then he and Amber walk forward to the front car where Alex and Lynn are riding.  Later both teams are seen racing along the delta area in boats. I seriously doubt that there is a FF since they have to move from one city to the other. Kelly along with Deana and Joyce are riding the horses along with perhaps Alex and Greg. They had a lot of scenes on ET but I did not have my recorder going so I could not review them. Will try to remember to record ET from now on since they have some pretty good last minute previews. Well in less than an hour we will learn all and see how far afield we have been led. Oh in the CBS eye-mail Rob is wearing the knit hat he is seen driving in in Mendoza (later on the way to Tigre on the train he has his famous Boston Redsox cap on) so this looks like the first place they have to go to get the clue to go to the Roadblock.
