Spoiling the 'Survivor' spoilers

Thought this was a good article.

The Holy Grail was that close.

For the thousands of "Survivor" fans whose hobby is trying to figure out what happens on the show in advance, everything had fallen into place.

After a couple of minor early bumps, the "spoiling" was running smoothly. Dave, check; Deena, check; Alex, check. After that it would be Heidi, Rob, Christy and Butch, and Matthew would squeak by Jenna for the million.

Then, Jenna handed Heidi the immunity necklace.

And the almost-perfect spoiling season fell apart.

It had all started back in January, with a poster named Chill One arriving on the spoiling discussion board Survivor Sucks. Chill One had been vacationing in the Amazon right after "Survivor: Amazon" filmed and had learned a ton about the outcome of the show. As the season chugged along, his information proved largely correct. It included a sketch of the final four that the spoiling community eventually fleshed out to be Christy, Butch, Jenna and Matthew.

Another poster who had correctly forecast Heidi as a contestant said confidently that Heidi would exit May 1. Two days before the episode, the confoundingly reliable SurvivorNews.net agreed.

How that much bad information got out is anyone's guess. Overconfidence? CBS disinformation? Whatever, it's back to square one, or maybe square two, for the spoilers.

"Survivor: Amazon" continues at 8 p.m. Thursday, then concludes with a three-hour extravaganza Sunday night.

My pick? I say the spoilers were mostly right, and that Matt will defeat Jenna for the title of Sole Survivor. But I wouldn't take that to the bank.

Mountain high

The Outdoor Life Network's surprisingly interesting "Global Extremes: Mt. Everest" gets back on track Monday night. The show took a brief break after the competition to select the five adventurers who would take a crack at Mount Everest. The next two episodes will be broadcast from the mountain. The episode with the actual summit attempt is not yet scheduled.

Absolutely Fabulous

Fans trying to crack "The Bachelor" say Andrew Firestone and bachelorette "Tina Fabulous" have been spotted in the same cities at the same time twice in the past month. Since most of us think she's the front-runner anyway, it sounds like a good spoiler. But after the "Charlie wins" debacle, I'm going to stop short of calling it solid information.

Definitely interesting.  So this person who vacationed right after the show ended must know who the final 2 is.  Oh well we will all find this out on Sunday anyways.

He doesn't really know.  He just has some info.  Not all his info has been correct though, but most was close.
