In the original U.S. version, there was never a real U-Turn in Leg 2 before. In Israeli version, it is yes and appeared in every season since on its second race.

Based off the Sneak Peek, that would be the big tree on the edge of the Mekong. So likely the U-Turn is pre-Detour and it's a case of who can dash to the board first after the Alms ceremony to use it.

I'd bet one of the BB/Survivor teams gets there first and uses it on the Afghanimals. They're probably using the second one as a survival tactic.

They are playing hardball if they use a UTurn on Leg 2.... The newbies know they are at a disadvantage initially so it might be used?? Wow....

Depends if teams can use multiple U-Turns as we saw in 29. I don't think we got an indication if that rule was still intact in 30, but it would make sense to uphold it with a voting U-Turn later this season.

There's no risk of wasting a CoP, so you might as well use it

I still think season 29 doesn't allow teams to use u-turn power multiple times
It just happen the first u-turn Tara & Joey used was a blind u-turn, so they are allowed to use a second, regular u-turn

Luke did mention they were eligible to use the second u-turn of TAR 14, despite using the blind one previously.

I love early U-Turns.
I was very pleasantly surprised by one in S26E01, and with THIS cast, which is more prone to making alliances, it's a very good and fun idea.

So from that last preview the Afganimals and Rupert and Laura are in a tuck tuck together. That's something that sucks about recent TAR. How are they on equal footing? I wish the teams in the lead had an advantage, not reset back to 0 each leg.

If it's one of the non-TAR teams that uses it, my bet is that it's one of the 3 BB teams, because I don't remember any of the 3 Survivor teams as having the strategic chops to correctly U-turn anyone, and from what I remember of their BB seasons, Rachel, Janelle, and Nicole aren't above making questionable moves when needed

I was a little surprised at the elephant task. I know WRP considers itself a progressive sort of place, but there are better places--even in Luang Prabang--for "ethical" camps (no rides or bathing, no circus tricks, no Phajaan).

I was in Luang Prabang two days after they left. (Ugh, I would have really wanted to get a pic of Phil, the teams and the clueboxes.)

I did try the same elephant camp tour that the teams did. You can refer to their website below to make your own judgement of the place.

Hey Peach, after reading the spoilers last year, I walked over to that shop to book a tour with them. I casually asked if they had some American show filming the day before and they said yes. I then went on the elephant ride the day after. I was honestly quite worried to sit on an elephant without a howdah, but I survived. I did get to enjoy the "TAR experience" but I think it's the last time that I will sit on an elephant.

I am still somewhat gutted that I was in Luang Prabang earlier. (I clearly did not share neobie's luck of meeting Margie and Luke.)

If it's not from them taking the same flight, judging from one of the previews it seems teams have to wait until a Buddhist temple opens (indicating teams get in late in Laos) to get their next clue.

Likely both hours of operation hold up and same flight if you combine both the sneak peeks with Rupert/Laura meeting everybody at the airport and the teams sitting outside the temple.

We know C/E tried to block the afghanimal and R/L in the street, but I guess this fails because in the pictures they are all sitting next to each other, with R/P first, and E/C last (of those 3 teams). If the first few teams finishes the ceremony before the last one, maybe they would use the UTURN
