It was only speculation... We then found that Leg4 was NEL, so they survived that leg with speedbumb.

Yeah, but per the timeline, there was speedbumb in Leg 7, which means Leg 6 was NEL.

So here are the options...

First NEL at Leg 6 with 6 teams - not very likely, it would mean only one EL and 3 NELs in 4 back to back Legs (6,7,8,9), based on the fact that we had 5 teams in Leg 10.
Back to Back NELs at Leg 5 & Leg 6 - I doubt it.
NEL at Leg 4 - most likely scenario. I personally believe this happened. Just because Phill didn't wait at mat like idiot for blondes who were so far behind and took a break instead, there was that field elimination rumour.

The point being there are still options. Leg 4 is not confirmed to be a NEL.

So in the TAR31 season preview, it seems Phil conducts the U-Turn vote himself with all teams present.

Remember in the Manila Leg when we had sightings of all teams meeting Phil at the start of the Leg? Perhaps there's a U-Turn vote on the (penultimate!) Leg in Manila as well?
It would explain why all the teams would be there with Phil.

Are you sure he's conducting the vote though?
He might just be announcing it with all teams present, like the partner swap, but they might get to strategise alone and vote later?

I think we had the top 3 checking in within minutes of each other that leg. So if that's right, it's likely NFL got the raw end of the deal... on top of their backpack issue :(

Could we have a final 4 voting Uturn in Philippines?

Thats why Phil was with the teams?

It would make sense if it was a U-Turn Vote. Based on the timing of the sightings, the bulk of the Leg, if not the entire Leg happened between the first sighting of teams at the monument all together with only Phil and the sightings of teams checking in with the greeter present.

Unless there's a new twist or something

The leaked reunion image contains most of the Final Eight, the missing racers being Patrick and his teammate a.k.a. the unknown East Asian woman, the McKibbin brothers, and Will.

So there's the chance that the volleyball boys and/or that co-ed couple burned enough bridges with the rest of the F8 that lingering animosity persists to this day.

Phil has tweeted a cofirmation of sorts that next season will be a regular person season. It’s on his Twitter account.

I'm looking at the timeline,
Isn't there a video of Haley & Kaylynn Williams running in Berlin.
Was that in my head lol? Has it been confirmed?

If so, that would mean that they at least survive until Kazakstan 1 (because we heard Phil talk about a speedbumb in Kazakstan 1 WHICH means Berlin was a NEL)

Physique is very much of a woman. Can't tell if it is Victoria & Michelle or Haley & Kaylynn.

Is this the first time they’ve filmed two consecutive seasons the same time of year? 32 is pretty South America/ SE Asia heavy bc of it being filmed in the US’s fall. They need to do something different. Afaik the only reason they didn’t film a season this spring/summer is that 32 was rough on the production team and they wanted a break. That may be wrong but I think Phil said it was three weeks in before they even slept in a bed.
I remember Phil saying 32 was one of the toughest season for them to film.

He said it was tied with 3 for toughest.

He did say that on his podcast when Rob & Brennan were guesting. I wonder why it was so taxing on the production crew...

I wonder if they had to do replacement Legs during the season. I'd think that could be taxing on the crew.

The Manila Leg screams replacement Leg, for example. And not even a long planned one lol You could literally walk to most of the Route Markers in an hour. Two hours if including Manila Ocean Park. lol And the tasks aren't very elaborate that need lots of planning.

It was heavily rumored that they were going to Seoul for the penultimate leg so I bet something fell through with that and they had to go to Manila at the last minute

It might well be possible to semi-verify that by seeing whether there had been developments in the disputes between the United States (and the South Koreans) and North Korea in that time frame. That would be the sort of thing in that region that would triggered a shift to a secondary backup leg.

This cast is so friendly with each other on social media. They actually reunited several times after filming. I would assume this could be peacuful season ala TAR19 based on that. Hopefully I am wrong because I want drama, lol.

Feel bad for them for having to wait so long for their season to air though.

SPEC: Manila, Philippines was MIGHT HAVE BEEN a last-minute change (as an alternate country) after a speculated leg in Australia had cancelled and was replaced by the Philippines.

Seoul, South Korea was last visited in TAR 29 that was too risky to film in that area two years earlier.
