They weren't asking for the answer to a challenge though. They were asking if they could work together to find the Route Marker when they were all bunched up together. First with Becca & Floyd to look for the ticketing booth and then with C&C after the almsgiving. They did the actual tasks on their own.

A lot of people expected Rachel and Elissa to be a weak team, but they've been the 3rd strongest team on the race and strongest non-amazing race all-star team through the first two legs (based on average). Questionable use of the U-turn aside, I'm pretty impressed.

They are kind of weak though. Without the luck of tuk-tuks they probably would've finished the second leg 5th at best. They seem to be very dependent on other teams especially when it comes to navigation. (i.e trying to work with Tyler & Korey in the first challenge in Japan, trying to work with Becca & Floyd to find the ticketing place, literally being led to the U-Turn by Colin & Christie), and if you watch the insider videos, even Corinne & Eliza have taken notice of that which is very interesting.

That's all part of the game though and they're strong at it so far lol. It'll probably lead to them being u-turn voted if the cast starts to dislike them (which is starting to happen, or at least the edit is making it seem that way), but gotta give them credit so far.

Luck is part of the game for sure. But being dependent on other teams is part of the game too? So would you say Caroline & Jennifer in S24 is a strong team?

Getting people to do something for them is some sort of strategy actually. I believe Caroline and Jennfier are strong in this aspect.

Charla & Mirna have asked locals to guide them. The fact that they can convince people to assist them is a strategy on its own. Same with Caroline & Jennifer, At the end of the day what matters most is to finish ahead and not dead last. You need to use people in order to advance in the competition. Might seem unorthodox/unconventional and somewhat leechy, but to each his/her own.

I'm not even a Rachel cult follower, and I think you're getting annoying with your comments. Rachel clearly has people that love her, and I ended up gaining a ton of respect for her after she fought hard to win BB13. As for Elissa, the FACT that she won 25K for being America's Favorite Player on her BB season should tell you all you need to know about how incorrect your statement about the sisters being horrible people with no fans or friends is.

Rupert & Laura were entertaining for the episodes that they were in, but honestly, Rupert gets old. I'm sure we would've gotten annoyed with him at some point because Rupert fatigue always hit in on his seasons and his shtick gets annoying

Having been a loooong time since I last saw Rupert on Survivor, I probably wouldn't have tired of him and Laura too fast. And honestly, they probably wouldn't have lasted more than a few more legs anyway.

But we just had Team Not Fun like two years ago, so their shtick is still fresh in my mind. lol

I would have liked that so much, too!
But Rupert & Laura always looked doomed to be early boots, and got a VERY lucky break in leg 1. Now they picked a bad elephant and got unlucky, but let's be real, they were bad racers.

It just sucks that Rachel & Elissa couldn't eliminate their U-Turn targets, and it was SO CLOSE.
