I never expected a TAR-level live start yesterday. I fully agree cast ID does nothing to spoil the show, nor do any spoilers. However, I just think TPTB were trying to appease both the spoiler & non-spoiler types. There is a large number of views on that video. Maybe next season they could consider a true live start in a large metropolitan area.

What was the whole deal about watch for secret clues from Monty? I sure didn't see any.

Have to say after the hype I was kinda disappointed.   Having been to all the TAR open starts this was just....not much.  Glad they had a pretty day lol.

I think TAR US has learned that revealing the cast does nothing to hurt the show and actually ramps up the anticipation.

Thanks so much Sue for snagging caps!
Yes, it sure was disappointing  >:(  I was wondering if the hints were in the quick zoom ins on various parts of the gardens at the castle: a lion, a close up of a tree, a statue - I was leaning towards Italy? as it appeared to be in the Italian gardens area?

Love that thought caper, thanks!
If those were clues they shot right over my head for sure. :funny:

No, it was specified in the eTalk video today that there would be 4 future "hints" of legs along the way. I'm not even sure if they will be "live" - as in real time. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

So this would make the first time, then, that the first leg remained in the same province as the starting line :P

They only went like a couple hours worth of driving north. So no airport yet, which is usually the source for the brunt of first sightings in TARs.

I can't find anything on twitter or instagram  :dick
In contrast to last year's first leg, where we had so many things... arggggg haha
I guess we should see them today at an airport?

I didn't see anything at YVR early this morning when I dropped the boys off for a hockey trip but I'll head back to check things out.

Same.

I'm excited to see the racer in a turban. Is this a race first?

Yup this is a TAR first

Right, but the fact remains that Punjabi-Canadian contestants have existed even before one wore religious attire for the competition.

Looking like today may have possibly been a rest day like the last couple of seasons.

I think we already knew that. The fact remains he will be the first to wear his turban while running the race.

It's been ages since I flew through there, so how's the ease of access to international terminals for non-fliers currently?

At YVR if you don’t have a ticket you can’t get past security :( but all the ticket counters are accessible :) There is also a Starbucks with a jade Bill Reid canoe sculpture that’s a pretty cool place to hang out (international). Domestic has a food court before security lol Guess what I do when I’m dropping off or picking up my travelers :)

Yum, thanks for the briefing!

So even if they go unseen en route to Asia/Oceania, maybe they'll pop up on the return trip a la the Season 3 teams arriving from Delhi.

It looks like Team 8/3 are there. Team 6 may be there and there is that female to identify.

IG: terrafennWe had so much fun going up the gondola yesterday... and we were able to see filming for #theamazingrace #canada !! #bluebirdday #mountains #squamish #mybaby #babygirl #blueeyes #sunshine #nofilter #seatoskygondola #seatosky #bc #epicplaydates #ocean #mountainliving #trees #hangingonawire #ospreypacks #thechief #babyhiker

And: Seen in YR last night ~14 hours ago

Yes team 8 and 3, maybe the female in the second picture is the second teammate from team 3?

They took an airplane and no one saw them.... wonder if they are still in Canada or somewhere international

That is the second teammate from Team 3. First pic we see someone with a blue short shirt and, the second pic, the female has that same shirt.

They were in the domestic terminal based off of the comments.

Looked at Starbucks locations at YVR.

Can confirm that it was in the Domestic Terminal, after security.

Specifically the location by gate A12
