TAR Canada 6: Speculation & Discussion of SPOILERS
« on: April 17, 2018, 02:10:42 AM »
This thread is the WORKZONE of our spoilers.

This is where ALL the spoiler discussion of the TARC6 race goes, NOT in the LIVE thread. It is where we try to thrash out what the LIVE sightings mean.

As always, per RFF's practices, we do not spoil the start location (if known) or any teams until it is believed that the teams are safely underway. We would never want to put a team in jeopardy or cause them distress or interfere with the actual running of the race. Info on future legs may also occasionally be protected for those reasons. But if you have info to share beforehand , we would love to know, so please PM or email me! Spoilers are treasured!

This thread will be opened once the race is beginning. NO POSTING UNTIL WE HAVE LIVE SIGHTINGS PLEASE.
RFF's Golden Rule:
Have RESPECT for each other, regardless of opinion. This of course includes no flaming/insulting other users and/or their posts.

I don’t know if this is the right place but Lots of flights to Vancouver from Victoria this afternoon. But there is two flights to Calgary a hour apart form each other. If they are keeping the current trend of start line and leg one in different provinces Calgary/possibly Banff could be leg 1. Or they could fly to Vancouver and fly from there.

Also believe Leg 1 will be Banff.

Then Leg 2 in Edmonton before flying to Sri Lanka (outside chance of Bangladesh, Nepal, or an India revisit).

As for the Finish Line, perhaps Nanaimo now that Vic's out of the running.

They did Jasper (similar to Banff) on TARC 4 where Stef/Kristen hung from the gondola - don't think it'll be Alberta bound so soon.

Er, both of the first two legs from the first two seasons were all in BC.

What about Leg 1 in Vancouver, or even Victoria?

Or even Leg 1 in Yukon?

I'm also thinking maybe RUSSIA to be an outside visit???

Leg 1 has never been in the same province/territory as the Starting Line: ON->BC, AB->BC, QC->ON, NT->AB, NL->BC

THIS IS NOT A WISHLIST THREAD!

Let's keep this please to intelligent speculation on spoilers or logical next potential destinations?

Thanks!

Next destination will be posted when teams are safely arrived.

Spec: Im thinking they might do a leg 1 non-elim this season. Given the "inspirational" nature of the cast, they might want everyone for at least 2 legs

Swartz Bay is where the main ferry to the BC mainland is. Flying out via Vancouver, I'd guess.

If they go north to Nanaimo then Horseshoe Bay ferry over to Vancouver, and possibly up to Squamish or Whistler,

Amazing Race Canada kicks off at Hatley Castle

Popular reality TV show will premiere later this year

The Amazing Race Canada kicked off the latest season right here in Greater Victoria.
The sixth season of the popular TV show kicked off at Hatley Castle at Royal Roads University in Colwood Monday afternoon.

As part of the heroes edition, 10 couples compete in a grueling race across Canada and the world. The race is divided into a series of legs and on each leg, teams strive to reach the Pit Stop where they are greeted by host and Olympian Jon Montgomery.

“The people that are here are the embodiment of what the race is about. Doing it with a partner, collaborating to achieve a bigger goal and in their daily lives these people do it on the daily,” said Montgomery in a Facebook live post on the Amazing Race Canada page. “What we have here is an amazing group of people.”

The only other real option is at F8 on Leg 3 in order to avoid copying the latest seasons' trends.

No more news?

They wouldn't be having an overnight at a ferry/train/bus/airport yet would they? ???

Perhaps production is aiming to recreate the start of Season 3's routing: a domestic premiere followed by two legs abroad.

They can’t overnight on a BC ferry - the last ferry arrives in Tsawwassen around 10:40. Possibly overnight on way to next location?

Speculation - if they are headed to Squamish possible overnight at Porteau Cove (the sunken boats) - there is a campsite there that was full of trailers and rvs. There are 2 newer “Olympic cabins” for rent also right near the pier, and the parking lot is right behind them.

E-talk Canada did a small piece
https://www.etalk.ca/TV/video/The-Amazing-Race-Canada-starting-line-revealed-vid1377666

We can see a bit in the background team 9 and 10. It seems one of the guys in team 10 has a pink turban on his head!
It could be interesting to analyse the shoes they are wearing, we have a few close up in this video.

Not visible in my area.

So if some of you Canadians could help with getting some screen shots of this please do it? Much appreciated!

I recorded it. Will do caps in a bit. There were close-ups of shoes as they ran onto the starting line.

All through it, they show shots of the racers below the neck. No faces.

There's going to be 4 more of these. So I guess they're pretty much going to reveal some locations for us, Peach :D

Hope there will be at least one international location revealed - one that we get little info.

What was the whole deal about watch for secret clues from Monty? I sure didn't see any.

Have to say after the hype I was kinda disappointed.   Having been to all the TAR open starts this was just....not much.  Glad they had a pretty day lol.

I think TAR US has learned that revealing the cast does nothing to hurt the show and actually ramps up the anticipation.

Thanks so much Sue for snagging caps!

Same.

I'm excited to see the racer in a turban. Is this a race first?
