I'm here and ready for nothing to Bahrain on this parade. I'm not gonna get Thai-ed down. :neener:
Time for a hopefully wonderful penultimate episode! I can't believe we're only getting 10 episodes aired live... this is quite possibly the shortest airing season anyone has ever witnessed.

EDIT: Just a reminder, the episode airs live in an hour, not ten minutes.

 :2hearts: Also, Happy Valentine's Day! :2hearts:

And we are on the air, everybody!

Previously on TAR, six teams raced around Zimbabwe where they were hit with a game changing twist: swapping partners! Six new teams raced through the bush. "We are so close!" Cody & Jen cruised through while Kristi & Jessica hit a snag. Teams reunited as they raced into Harare where Lifeguards and Indy used the U-Turn forcing Cody & Jessica and Henry & Evan to duke it out to avoid elimination. But the final task had teams singing a different tune... *gibberish montage*. And the 8th leg was the twins' swan song. 5 teams remain, who will be eliminated next?!

And we begin with Jessica & Cody revealing they may be racing in flip-flops. I wonder how this will work out. Instead, they go back to Eastgate Mall and buy a pair of Zimbabwean sneakers using the remainder of their leg money.

Intro. Weird.

We come back from commercials with Lucas & Brittany departing 1st at 8:41 to Manama, Bahrain! A modern financial center that still embraces their Islamic design and culture. They must self-drive to the port city of Manama. The two head off in taxis. They are still aware just because they are 1st doesn't mean they will stay in first.

Kristi & Jen head off in 2nd and Alex & Conor go off in 3rd... where we are provided with cringey puns from their Indy car racing lifestyle, and how Alex has traveled to Bahrain before. Henry & Evan and Cody & Jessica leave in 5th and 6th.

Meanwhile, Lucas & Brittany are booking their flights at a travel agency. They want to think positive. They connect through Addis Ababa and Dubai, and immediately we are struck with Lucas & Brittany missing Lucas' passport. Everyone chattering about clearing customs...

Speculation arises from the sitting teams while Lucas & Brittany are freaking out in Addis Ababa with a missing passport. 45 minutes until boarding time. Lucas reveals he is forgetful and feels for Brittany. 21 minutes before boarding. "Sounds like Karma was kicking in earlier than I anticipated." - Jessica... The first rule of Amazing Race club is to always have your travel documents AKA passports with you.

All teams except Lucas & Brittany boarding the flight from Addis Ababa into Dubai. Lucas & Brittany are screwed.

We return with the first four teams arriving in Manama, Bahrain! They get into their marked cars with their clue. Teams must travel to the Dhow Harbour in the Fishermen's Market to receive their next clue. Henry & Evan and Cody & Jessica comment on Lucas' missing passports. Meanwhile, Lucas & Brittany are retrieving a rushed expedited passport in Dubai, one flight stop away from Bahrain.

Alex & Conor arrive at the shipyard. It's time to haul some timber!
Teams must carry heavy pieces of timber across the shipyard to a scale and weigh 300 lbs exactly of wood to the foreman to earn their next clue.
Kristi & Jen come in right after

Kristi & Jen are dragging their timber, which is more efficient, while Indy are carrying each end of the logs. Henry & Evan arrive 3rd at the shipyard. Cody & Jessica, meanwhile, are lost in navigation.

Kristi & Jen keep on dragging their driftwood while Alex & Conor are tired! Henry & Evan making up the time against Indy.

Teams must travel to Showaiter Sweets and sample an Arabic confection to receive their next clue.
Meanwhile, Alex & Conor and Henry & Evan get their clues in 2nd and 3rd.

Cody & Jessica arrive at the shipyards and begin the log carrying. Cody effortlessly carries two logs while Jessica is shocked at how heavy a single log is. She reveals Cody is a competition beast and lives for this strength training style of labor. He falls in love more as he pushes her to do more. They finish and get their next clue and leave in 4th.

Jessica is wiping Cody clean from sweat. Meanwhile, Alex & Conor and Kristi & Jen navigating to the shop. They arrive at the same time at the market and are hit with "King of Halwa" as a treat rather than a location after some misunderstanding. They sample it and receive their next clue.

Teams must travel to Dalwa Pottery District to receive their next clue. Meanwhile, Henry & Evan are having a tiff about the drive to Showaiter Sweets. Cody & Jessica bypass them and sample the confection. They move up to 3rd. "That dessert was bomb!"

Alex & Conor are bickering a bit and are stuck in traffic. "I'd rather hang upside-down naked with my arms set on fire." - Alex.

Cody & Jessica bypass Henry & Evan while they asked for directions. Jessica meanwhile discusses their indifferent feelings about Team Yale. Henevan arrive at the sweets shop and receive their clue in 4th place.

Kristi & Jen and Henry & Evan AND Cody & Jessica are lost in navigation. They comment that it's mind boggling that nobody in Manama knows where the pottery place is. And we are in some sort of dizzying daze as visuals flash racers and road signs TAR29 Leg 1-style.

We come back with Cody & Jessica finding the pottery in first! Wow.
Teams must play a game of memory, finding several specific trinkets inside handcrafted clay pots to receive their next clue.

Jessica meanwhile finds an orange tabby cat and proceeds to pick the feline up. After putting the cat back on the ground, they head off and are immediately shocked at t he amount of pottery.

Kristi & Jen and Henry & Evan arrive 2nd and 3rd at the pottery village. "no match" for Cody & Jessica. Alex & Conor arrive 4th and start on this near impossible live match game. They say the hardest part was paying attention to detail. Everyone can't find a match.

Lucas & Brittany are stuck in Dubai and it is what it is. They head off to Manama! Finally.
And we come back with teams finding matches with five or six or four or three. Everyone is on a hustle cornering off areas to find the pieces easier.

Alex & Conor get their sixth match while Henry & Evan are in a struggle, the race is taking a toll on them. Meanwhile, Kristi & Jen get a ninth match. Cody & Jess get their tenth and their next clue.

Teams must travel to Bahrain Endurance Village for their next clue!

We come back with Henry feeling very hot. Evan says Indy car left right before them and are frustrated, but finally find a match after finding their tenth match. They can't break the clue pot.... :lol3: And finally after chucking it hard, they do.

Cody & Jessica can't find the camel village while Alex & Conor experience Lorena & Jason's nightmare.
SUPPOSED SWITCHBACK: Teams must milk a dromedary camel up to the marked line for their next clue.

Alex & Conor's camel keeps kicking their knee back like a cow and groans. "Can we get malaria from camels?"
They did not expect to be squeezing a camel's nipples for the day. "This makes you want to have cereal!"

Kristi & Jen arrive and Jen is freaking pumped about this task. Alex & Conor get their next clue after the Bedouin drinks the milk.
Teams must travel to the Tree of Life, a surviving tree nearly 2 miles away from any oasis, the Pit Stop of this leg. Last team to check in may be eliminated!

Alex & Conor head off while Jen spends time with the camel. Petting and calmly nurturing the dromedary. Henry & Evan and Cody & Jess are lost.

Kristi & Jen get their clue in 2nd place.... and Alex & Conor arrive at the Pit Stop! They are greeted with a flapping falcon.

They receive $7,500 each for owning 1ST PLACE! They see teams starting to degrade, but their friendship is growing stronger.

Meanwhile, Cody & Jess are lost in spirals and can't find the endurance village. Henry & Evan arrive at the camels in 3rd place and Evan says she talks to animals as she does with Henry. And they mention some pretty private stuff. :barf

Kristi & Jen arrive at the Pit Stop in 2ND PLACE!

Cody & Jessica finally arrive at the camels and sense the scent. Meanwhile, Henry & Evan's camel is DONE and walks away :camel just perfect. And they wrap up with their clue in 3rd. Cody & Jessica begins with the camel. "This sounds like when you burp." "AIIOISIOMAOIMCOISM" - Camel. Jessica says she was excited to see camels for a millisecond until it actually hit her that the dromedaries were stinky and gross.

Cody & Jessica get their clue in 4th and Cody drinks the camel milk. Jessica is impressed, but wants to leave to the Pit Stop. Henry & Evan arrives in 3RD PLACE. They understand how each other thinks as Evan rambles until the falcon excretes. :lol3:

Cody & Jessica finish the leg in 4TH PLACE, validating their love for each other is actually true.
...
Meanwhile, Lucas & Brittany FINALLY arrive in BAHRAIN.... They are happy with the time they had, becoming engaged. They arrive at the shipyard where Phil comes out onto the course. They are the last team to arrive and are eliminated from the race. "We figured."

Lucas feels he left his family and friends down and starts tearing up. Brittany also gets emotional and can't ask for a better partner. She says she is proud of him and ended up with something even better, a proposal for marriage. And one last sneak in for the ring until we are finally done with this leg.

Kristi & Jen depart in 2nd and get their tickets. Henry & Evan depart in 3rd with more college talk blah blah blah. They are stuck with various options to Chiang Mai though Alex says they shouldn't stress about other flights because there aren't any. Cody & Jessica are in 4th and pair up with Indy and skiiers as a tight-knit bond. Henry & Evan are lone wolves. Everyone is on edge and feels there are definitely no rooms for error.

All teams sitting in the backs admiring and curious about the transportation while traveling to the grand park. The teams also explore the surroundings along the way. Kristi & Jen see signs of the park, but don't know how much English their driver speaks.

Alex & Conor and Cody & Jess arrive at the park while Henry & Evan's driver points out their way to the temple. Kristi & Jen are led the wrong way. Meanwhile, Indy gets the clue first followed by Yale and BB.

Teams must present a garland to a lady around the park in trade of their next clue.

Kristi & Jen, out of breath, read their clue. Alex & Conor quickly find the lady.

DETOUR: Size It or Seize It
In Size It, teams must measure and weigh elephants while a baby elephant distracts them. In Seize It, teams must catch 20 bullfrogs in a rice paddy to receive their next clue.

Cody & Jessica cant find her while Henry & Evan find a lady over skiiers and BB. They move up to 2nd place. Indy are going to the bullfrog Detour. Kristi & Jen find the lady and head to elephants. Meanwhile, Cody & Jessica are lost between tourists.

We return with Cody & Jessica missing the clue woman. They finally locate her, also out of breath. They choose the bullfrogs task.
Kristi & Jen are snacking and bickering about committing to a choice. They treat each other like sisters and always work hard to agree. Henry & Evan say calculations are more up their alley than chasing frogs, despite remembering the leg 2 diamond appraisal Detour as a nightmare. Kristi & Jen switch instincts and continue frogs. Unfortunately, skiiers' songthaw stops and a chain reaction happens with Henry & Evan's songthaw pausing as well.

Alex & Conor arrive at the paddy and wallowing in the mud. Cody & Jessica finally arrive. One of the kids remind Cody of his daughter and reveal he failed to get the money from BB, but plan on making things right if they win the race. Henry & Evan are stuck right behind Kristi & Jen, but Yale proceeds to move ahead of them saying they are wasting their time.

Kristi & Jen can't see a single frog and decide to switch tasks. Jessica & Cody also are starting to believe Frog Lake is empty.
Meanwhile, Henry & Evan arrive at the elephants. They are in AWE! They meet Manoi the elephant and are told by the sanctuary worker how to be friendly with the elephants by saying "bon" and feeding the elephants to become friendly with them. They also pet them for comfort. Time for the chart! Accurate nutrition measurements fuel their interest in this task even more. They must climb up and around the elephants to get these correct numbers.

And Manoi does not want to cooperate.

Cody & Jessica start catching A frog while Alex & Conor begin jumping for them. Jessica is freaked out by their slipperiness. Alex & Conor's frogs are slipping. Meanwhile, Henry & Evan's Manoi is still not having it with them. They have some bad luck lately with animals.

Kristi & Jen are officially lost and pass the sanctuary.

Yale finally measures one part of Manoi while Kristi & Jen arrive, starstruck at these adorable mammals! Both of them are neck and neck.

We come back as Alex & Conor refuse to get down and dirty for this task. "Get back here, Kermit!"
Conor finally catches ONE frog in the meantime Cody finds 12 frogs. Jessica can't catch any. Indy feels the kids watching them actually helped them motivate their continuation of this task over the elephants.

Speaking of elephants, Evan almost falls off Manoi as they finish up the measurable numbers. They start calculating weight and height. Kristi & Jen are on top of the elephant and on their tail. Henry & Evan get their answers checked and are incorrect. Henry believes their math was correct, but Evan is skeptical.

Alex & Conor start catching more with a frog jackpot. Meanwhile, Jessica wants Cody's help to catch these bullfrogs.

Kristi & Jen stumble upon a baby elephant and are caught off guard. Meanwhile, Henry & Evan head back to measure the elephant. Kristi & Jen are also incorrect with their measurement. Yale are stuck.

Kristi & Jen get their work checked and must take their elephant across a trail to their next clue. "This is the BEST THING!" They can't believe they beat the debate team.

Alex & Conor and Cody & Jessica are neck and neck with these frogs. They move up to first place. Teams must make their way to Original Khantoke Restaurant!

Alex & Conor move up to 2nd place.

Evan is evidently pissed as Henry mis-records information. Kristi & Jen arrive at the baskets of fruit to feed the elephants. And Yale is still INCORRECT with their answer. Kristi & Jen leave the Detour in 3rd place.

Evan & Henry find this embarrassing and finally find the correct answer. Kristi & Jen are already in a taxi to the restaurant while Henry & Evan get on their elephant along the trail.

Big Brother and Indy are neck and neck to the restaurant.

Yale get their clue in last place and quickly head off after giving bananas to the elephants.

Alex & Conor get to the restaurant in 1st.
ROADBLOCK: Thai Something New
One team member must eat three scorpions and a grilled bullfrog to receive their next clue. Kicker: their teammate will have live scorpions crawling on their body.

Alex & Conor are tortured with scorpions. It feels like the Terminator is on Conor's chest. Cody & Jessica arrive next and are impressed with the atmosphere. Jessica is freaking out over the live scorpions while Cody chooses to do the Roadblock.

We return with a scorned Jessica in agony over alive scorpions. She says Cody was her knight in shining armor trying to save her from these overrated lobsters.

Alex & Conor finish the scorpions and eats the  bullfrog. Meanwhile, Jessica is in seeming pain...

Kristi & Jen and Henry & Evan are neck and neck for last at this point.

Conor & Alex receive their clue. Make your way to the next Pit Stop!
Teams must make their way to Wat Chedi Luang. Last team to check in may be eliminated! So not?
Jessica is crying and wants these scorpions gone fast as Cody finishes the task in 2nd place.

Have yet to watch, but sounds like this Roadblock's going to be kinda like watching that TAR Canada Roadblock again from last summer where the other partner had cockroaches crawling all over their head. That was Fear Factor-level stuff.

Kristi & Jen arrive at the Khantoke in 3rd place. Now Kristi has scorpions all over her. She warns Jen to finish the meal quickly.
Cody & Jessica and Alex & Conor are racing for that 1st place!
The skiiers are in discomfort with the Roadblock as Jen finds out she must eat more while Kristi is freaked out about these scorpions.

Cody & Jess and Alex & Conor falls into some traffic. Meanwhile, Kristi & Jen finish the roadblock in 3rd and head off to Wat Chedi Luang.

Henry & Evan arrive at the Roadblock in 4th and Evan feels like she will :barf !

Indy and BB arrive at the wat. It's "not" a foot race because of no running rules on the complex. Alex & Conor arrive at the Pit Stop in 1ST PLACE, right before Cody & Jessica in 2ND PLACE. The Indy drivers win a trip for two to Curacao!

Jessica is mesmerized by Cody despite performing nothing throughout this leg. She finally admits a truth.
Henry & Evan get their clue in last place, and Kristi & Jen are lost with another taxi driver. It's a taxi race, yall!.....

And... Kristi & Jen arrive in 3RD PLACE! They are proud of beating the Yale graduates in math. They hope Yale are lost.

Meanwhile, Henry & Evan arrive at the Pit Stop in last place, HOWEVER, this is a non-elimination Leg and must perform a Speed Bump in the following leg. Blah blah blah regulations by Phil.

They feel underestimated, but are ready to take on the penultimate leg to eliminated the last team.

Montage of teams and confidence!

Next week on the season finale of TAR, four teams.... "smash, bam, ouch"... two cities... Phil's speech of a team winning the $1 million with clips of Hong Kong and the finale!

So what did everyone think of tonight's double leg episode? I know everyone has select words for the Bahrain Leg with absolutely zero mention of a Detour and a Roadblock.

Umm, what was Leg 9??? WORST. LEG. EVER

What happened to that cricket task we were 'speculating'? Maybe the producers realised it's not a cricket playing nation, lol.

Sad about Lucas and Brittany's elimination! But, always remember you passports and travel documents on the race!

Leg 9 was OK but, correct me if I'm wrong, were all the tasks ARI? It seems like the diving task would have been a roadblock, and that would have been great to see!

Let me start off by saying that I enjoyed these two episodes. Let me start off with Bahrain. I did like how this episode was just ARI's, it felt really fresh. I did like teams getting lost and all the tasks. I can't think of anything bad to say about this half other than the very sad elimination. I also liked how this new country was in the Middle East. The pit stop location was also good how it was just a tree in the middle of the desert. Now onto the second half.

I did like how they returned to Chiang Mai, Thailand long after it's previous visit in TAR 2. I thought the elephant measuring detour could've been designed better, like why not clean certain number of elephants ore fed them. I did like the bullfrog side better. The roadblock was OK, they should've eaten more food, or more disgusting food, like a five course meal. I did like the "footrace" to the pit stop because of the religious site they were at.

First Half: 5/5 Great new country visit, and great tasks.
Second Half 4/5 Although some of the tasks could've been better the teams made up for it.

I'm not gonna read through to much here because I don't want to see any previews for the finale! Want to go in fully surprised. But I'll give my take on this episode.

I think this was one of the best episodes of the entire season, if not the best. I found the first half strange not having a detour or roadblock, but I still think it worked out. The timber one was decent. The pottery one was great; I thought it was would cause huge problems because it seemed like a difficult task but the strengths of the teams only lead to it shuffling spots around a bit. The third task, meh, it was a mini switchback in practice to season 12 in Burkina Faso but it didn't play out as so because there wasn't as strict rules, and I wish they had done it again, but honestly would've preferred a different task that wasn't so similar to another task that they'd done before, especially in a brand new country. The self drive really made this episode too, it was like season 10 in Kuwait all over again. The passport debacle really shook up the episode and I'm just impressed that they were able to get Lucas a passport so fast, and though I wasn't a fan of them really, it really broke my heart at the mat when Lucas was beating himself up over it.

The second half was pretty good. Was hoping for more variety of flights, which is really what this season lacks, and the Yale ordeal in the airport gave me hopes for that which left me unsatisfied. But the episode picked up. The detours were surprisingly incredible. From first look at the detours, the frog seemed like the WAY harder, one but it proved to be the easier one, especially once the teams figured out where the frogs were hiding, and then Yale getting stuck with the math. The eating challenge is something it seems, as a collective from what I've seen, a task RFF has been waiting for (although we were looking for that in Cambodia, specifically Siem Reap, but to be honest, I was just there a month ago, and there's not much in Siem Reap that they haven't done except for something to do with the Pub Street. But this is irrelevant!) It seemed a bit easy, but given what the roadblock was, I couldn't see how they could've made it harder except adding in more food.

Overall, really good episode. Looking forward to the finale!

However, this may contribute to the mess in roadblock count, especially in explaing why Evan decided to eat the scorpions

Did enjoy the legs, despite being cringed out by some of the tasks.

I also like to avoid previews.

I like that there's been plenty of self-navigation this season.  The tasks were ok, I think Yale and BB are the most memorable of those left.  Not much suspense in these legs because of losing the documents and I knew there were two more legs so it was likely that second of these legs was a non-elimination.  Though I was happy Yale survived.  The problem Yale had was the initial measurements were wrong somewhere.  Animal heavy episodes for sure.

Leg 9

Weird seeing a leg that was just ARIs.

Loved the self-driving which pretty much equalized the competing teams & loved the variety of task.

We got a lot of references to past seasons.

Jessica & Cody channeling their inner Dandrew with the shoes.
Passport drama
Wood delivery for dhows like TAR 11 Zanzibar
Of course, Lorena & the camel, didn't get a similar meltdown.

Timber: Liked opening with a physically demanding task in the hot sun. Thankfully no heat exhaustion.
Halwa: Navigation plus a cryptic clue. Was OK.
Pottery: Needle in a haystack combined with attention to detail. Enjoyed this task.
Milk: No Lorena style meltdown but still a decent task.
Show content
Wish we could have seen the walk the plank task.

Some suspense was lost with Lucas losing his passport, but we still got a pretty decent competition among the four teams.

4/5

Leg 10

Nice to see Chiang Mai finally get a full leg.
Show content
Interesting to see how HaMerotz LaMillion will compare.

Garland: Simple, nice to see a location from TARA 3.
Elephant: Liked that we had restless elephants and that hindered measurements.
Frog: Loved this. Was laughing the entire time.
Scorpion: Liked that similar to the trebuchet task the non-participating member was tortured. Teams finished the same order they arrived, so that wasn't great.

The Detour was enjoyable but the second half of the leg was pretty much known as soon as they finished it.

Leg 9 is basically HaMerotz LaMillion (TAR Israel)-style leg with no Detour, Roadblock, just ARI-filled leg, right?
Concidentally people with Israeli passport can't visit to most Arab countries including Bahrain!

An observation: I may be overlooking a situation, but in every case where a team member lost a passport than wasn’t fairly quickly recovered and or returned within a few hours has resulted in that team’s elimination.
So I am excluding the team who left their passports on the dock, but returned to retrieve them, or the Racer who dropped their passport outside of a gas station between the start line and LAX thanks to an bystander who used social media to get that passport returned in time: those were near misses.

I have no idea why the people on this forum are being so negative after each episode ends, but I'm seriously in love with this season!
I loved S29, but this season is even better, and probably in my personal top 5 seasons of all time. The cast is amazing, especially the top 5, and there was no team that I hated or actively rooted against (expect maybe the twins, but I just found them boring and preferred other teams over them, though I did not dislike them).

These two episodes felt really suspenseful to me. And that says a lot, because I was spoiled, so I knew Lifeguards were getting eliminated (and then them losing passports didn't help), with Yale getting NEL'd in Thailand. However, the editing was great and every task either provided entertainment to the viewer, or proved difficult and frustrating to the teams. We had many placement shifts, many near-meltdowns and it kept me on edge, waiting to see what everyone's final placements would be.

I also had absolutely no problem with Bahrain being all ARIs?? Why is it a must to have a detour & a roadblock if the leg is difficult and fun anyway? Seriously don't get the amount of criticism for that. The only thing I might've changed was the camel task - make it longer in some way, so that there are more possibilities for teams to catch up/fall behind. But the amount of self-driving was amazing, and without it, this leg would probably feel flat! All in all, it was an amazing first visit to Bahrain. Haven't seen/heard much about the country before, but I'm very intrigued now. Seriously wouldn't mind another visit there in the near future instead of a 5th visit to UAE as a Middle East connector.

Thailand was even better! My favorite leg in the country ever, for sure. I liked that they included the little task to look for ladies with the next clue, instead of just placing a cluebox in the middle of the sight. A nice little touch, and it wasn't inconsequential.

The detour was reaaally good. It seemed like elephants was a way easier task, but in actuality it was just as hard as the frogs. Both tasks were entertaining, fun, and at the same time difficult. Funny how Cody caught all 20 frogs for their team. :cmaslol And I also enjoyed that Yale struggled at their detour so much, although it seemed to be their forte.

All the navigation between tasks was amazing, too, and I liked that the language barrier made teams frustrated. Again, the one thing I would maybe change is the Roadblock, by making it more difficult, because the way it was done seemed linear, although fun and entertaining. I would probably reduce the amount of food the roadblock performers have to eat, and make them answer some kind of questions (preferrably about Thai cuisine/delicacies, or Thailand in general), so that there is a chance for them to fail the task and have to repeat eating the plate until all of the questions are answered correctly. I don't know if I would've tortured their teammates with scorpions on their bodies for much longer, though, but some kind of possibility for them to have to redo the task would have been nice. ;D

But generally, both really solid episodes! Can't wait to watch S31 unspoiled. :P

I find their edit a bit strange.
The producers went out of their way to portray them negatively, and I don't get why. If they were edited as the villains of the race, then it would make sense, but right now we're just getting lots of negativity from their interactions with each other, but that shouldn't be presented as an explanation why the other teams don't like them as much.

I just don't see why the negative points have to be highlighted so much, especially since they work great together.

I think Cody/Jessica seem to have had a worse edit.  The Yale edit is partly poking fun at them but also making out they are an underdog team who others don't apparently respect.

Yes I noticed that and I don't miss it (and I miss even less the 2 express pass twist).  Also has there been a fast forward, not that I remember.  So maybe there's been a more natural race, apart from the u-turns.  Less emphasis on alliances maybe.

Well, don't know why some people hated a leg just because it's an ARI-filled leg, which HaMerotz LaMillion seems to do that just fine.

Anyway, contestants on HaMerotz LaMillion had to do some ridiculous tasks, like eating a cake's raw ingredients, or shooting mango chutney from Nerf guns into body-size chutes, or carrying dulce de leche by hand across the world's widest avenue, or even one of the many numerous ridiculous Face-Off on this show (such as doing the Walk-Off or the La Tomatina redux or the chocolate vat or life-sized Pac-Man with a cat and a mouse)

Evan has been edited negatively each episode for the second part of the season though. And I don't think that's necessary.

I don't think anything anyone has done has been bad this season. I think because these are very competitive teams, there's been low drama, so ANY little thing that's been an issue seems to have been shown.

They're using the little they've got to create personal drama.

I really like this season so far!
Tbh I like all the teams left on the F4 and I don't know for who I am rooting for at all... They are all so competitive and strong!

The edit is way better this season than the last one, and I loved those two final legs, although it's not nice to see someone being eliminated by a passport lost...
Oh, and I hated that there were no RB or Detour in Bahrein, I think the Pott's task could have been a RB.

Next week looks awesome, and it's sad that the season is over already, they should return to the normal schedule. ^^''

Honestly, I am so sad that they only had two head to heads early in the season. I think that there should have been a head to head in Bahrain!!! It's not necesarrily the number of head to heads, it's the placement. Why Leg-2 and 4?? Why not Leg 2 and 8 or 9??

It's enough that we all hated the head-to-heads in general, but putting them on a leg with very few teams remaining would be the worst idea ever :groan: At least for the way they were placed this season.
It's basically like cancelling the leg for the last two teams, and making a single, more or less luck-based challenge decide who makes the F4.

Yes, definitely don't. That's what Canada does every time, and every time it's predictably been the weakest of the 4 that it kept out of final 3.

I think knowing a bit of Mandarin is helpful enough coz quite a lot of HK ppl know Mandarin and most importantly, it means Henry may be able to read Chinese!

I remember it was a F/F team doing a task, The Amazing Camera Crew caught it on film, but the team realized and backtracked after a subsequent task to retrieve them. But 30 seasons in, over an 17plus year period, I’d have to rewatch most of them to remember. But I think it was after 12 and before 24, but Ij could be off.

About the retrieved travel documents in past seasons, don't forget we also had Team Fun nearly going to waste in Leg 3.

Now to the recent episode...

The pure-ARI leg was fine. There may be a lack of variety in task types when we only get a detour or only a roadblock or even having a pure-ARI leg, but it's all fine. I guess that's TAR's way of trying something new like the HtH and the Partner Swap. I would've preferred not having 3 legs in a row without roadblocks though. That was too much. We had 2 legs in a row without roadblocks in TAR25 (legs 2 and 3), then we had no roadblock again in Leg 10 during the F4. It was spread out at least. The good thing with this season is that these 3 legs of not having roadblocks are split into 2 2-hour episodes. If that wasn't the case, I'd miss the roadblocks so much. The race would've felt dry by the Bahrain leg.

The elephants task was really awesome! I think it was the fun task that took longer.

Soon... I'll just lay out an outline of my detailed comments per leg. :funny: I don't know if anyone from TAR reads the reviews, but I'm hoping that pointing out the goods and bads per leg would help TAR improve in future seasons, because TAR is my favorite show hands down. :)

Edit: Oh also, I love how TAR added classic TAR music into the Thai leg. Wonderful! I want more of those from time to time.

Am I the only one who reacted to the fact that Cody & Jessica got to go shopping during the, extended, pit stop?

Jessica said she lost her sneaker after the pit stop so I guess production felt partly responsible and that's why they were allowed to do that during the pit stop. Or have I misunderstood something?

In the previous episode, we had a confessional from Henry & Evan after they checked into  the pit stop in Harare.
It caught my eye that they looked very glammed up, Henry was even wearing shades and had his hair done. It looked to me like they were probably all given time to walk around.

I don't remember any other confessionals where it looked like teams had had time to clean up.

Maybe Jen could clear this up?

Hey all! Jess didn't buy her shoes during the pit stop. Jess & Cody went to buy the shoes after they ripped their clue at the start of the next leg and saw that it was a travel day. They were the last team to leave, so it wasn't going to make any difference if they went straight to the travel agency to try to get a better flight. They had to use leg money to buy the shoes. They weren't given any extra funds to do so.

As for Henry/Evan after the Harare leg, we didn't do interviews until we got back to the hotel. We did that in Morocco as well. So we had a little bit of time to "spruce up." Most of us were racing in long sleeves because of the Malaria concern, but once we were back in the city and hadn't even seen a single mosquito, a lot of us took of the extra clothes. It was so hot...

Thanks Jen. I actually saw Cody (I think) holding their clue in his hands while they were on their way out of the store shoe shopping. It had already been ripped.

I'm so curious how much extra money teams had and how they skimped and saved.

The amount of money between teams varied quite a bit. Some teams spent more money on food (Jody, Well-Strung, Indy) and others skimped and saved for taxis/emergencies (us & Ocean Rescue). Though, Brittany did buy a pillowcase in Morocco and I'm so jealous! Kristi and I didn't buy much food. We'd try to stock up as much as possible during pit stops. We spent most of our money on cabs and tipping. Didn't buy any souvenirs.

Well, at least you got a nice "Home video" of your "vacation" ;)

I have noticed that you often took the bus to the airport instead of taxis, I assume this was to save money. I wonder if you need to use your leg money to buy the tickets for the camera & sound crew traveling with you as well?
