A location I'm familiar with!

Detour and U-Turn are in Rouleau, an hour southwest of Regina, better known as "Dog River" from the CTV sitcom Corner Gas. Not much else there, it's your run-of-the-mill prairie farming town otherwise.

The "Dog River Hotel" behind the U-Turn board is the sign from the show (it was Phil's bar). It's actually called Rouleau Bar & Grill.

This is obviously going to be CTV's tie-in for the season (a la TSN season 3, MasterChef season 2), but they should have done this earlier. The main part of the set, the gas station and The Ruby diner, were leveled about 2 years ago after the Corner Gas Movie finished filming. However, there is a new animated revival coming sometime in the fall (minus one cast member. Janet Wright, who played Emma, passed last year). It could very well be easy publicity for that

Sneak Peek is out already.
The "grain" task in the Detour is (partial?) assembly of conveyer belt loader, followed by transfer of a small bin of grain into large bin.

Trying to recreate the BodyBreak elimination right down to the tasks, eh?

(Thankfully, Singapore remains the only city in the world to host a U-Turn board more than once.)

Wonder how these jackasses will play the U-Turn? (Oscar Leroy's catchphrase on CG. I had to  ) This a competitive bunch left, so fully expecting Sam & Paul and/or Adam & Andrea on the receiving end. Both of which are seen together at the farm machine.

Detour is assembling the machine or the horse auction. What's in it - not lentils - rapeseed, or canola (highly doubt Jon will call it the latter on TV). Kind of a Canadian-created hybrid, and fields of it have a bit of unpleasant scent when they're in bloom. The auction is reminiscent of that TAR20 task in Buenos Aires. Just saying, Ivana in the cowgirl hat   :hearts:

The Campbell's task finally appears. For a sponsor, they've been unusually quiet. Probably could have chosen a better task to advertise than having their cans crash all over the ground. Something like the infamous Hungarian spicy soup from TAR6 would have been terrific.

Wonder if the Pit Stop will be in another rural town (in the area, there's Wilcox, Weyburn, etc. Been down that whole Highway 39 corridor. Looks like no Moose Jaw :'( ) This is only a tiny place, and unlike US, it's never been Canada's style to make the U-Turn the last thing in the leg. Fully expecting them to have one of the show's stars pop up, whether as cluegiver or greeter.

Sorry to whoever saw the first version of this post! Internet...

I have to wonder if TARCAN FINALLY erased that rule about being able to use U-Turns as much as you want.

Was talking to a fellow fan, and apparently I wasn't paying close enough attention. The deal with the Campbell's task is that before the race began, a "race superfan" contest went on where the winner would get to appear with Jon at the task in the show (that'll probably be the person who hands out the clue).

And the contest also advertised a skydive. Possible task we haven't seen? We don't know what the Roadblock is

Not sure how to share it here, there's a video

I think we are forgetting the obvious with the horse auction...Jon was an (car) auctioneer. So I would expect him to give an excellent lead-in to that side of the Detour.

With these tasks, not sure what that title could be in reference to. I totally have CG on the mind with this one,  so I read it in Hank's voice. Sounds like something he'd say, lol

Maybe Karen & Bert's Speed Bump is some kind of "needle in a haystack" type task. Or it could be referring to all the farms and tiny towns that dot Saskatchewan while they're trying to find the place.

Someone might decide to be as stupidly mean-spirited as those BBCAN crossovers and pull a Rita/Yvette on Karen/Bert.

Then again, the odd-numbered TARCAN seasons have each had a strategic use: the Tims on Body Break and the Wrestlers on the Exes.

That's pretty much all I have to offer, guys. Sorry for all the posts on this one :p

I tried locating the Detour farm using the water tower on the SE edge of town as a beacon (the silver ball visible in some caps). But the kicker is that white rail fence, can't find it on the nearby highway farms. Might be new.

It's not Ritchie Bros Auctioneers. Appears they only deal in heavy machinery, not horses.

You're not the only one.
I am not one of those fans who believe TARC should stay in Canada - I've just resigned myself to it. Preseason, I made a very long list of possible legs in Canada. It is the opinion of many that TARC is running out of good domestic locations. Although that is not true, I fear this leg will only add to that train of thought.

As for the horse auction - it could have been set up anywhere, any farm or community centre would do. That Richie Bros Auctioneers could actually be the site for the other side of the Detour (the grain conveyor assembly), so I don't know why the auction couldn't be nearby as well. Maybe on the same property.
