HD version of the first clue of this leg:

What are the odds they just go to Shanghai for a Route Info or maybe another Active Route Info and then do the rest of the leg in Bangkok? It would make no sense for a Fast Forward to just skip one major task.

Curious how close is that Deli to the place where we had teams sightings around People Square.

And with Bangkok we get why the break seemed so long between our Leg 5 and Leg 6 sightings.

I'm not sure of the exact location in Peoples Square the sighting was (with Andrea & Ebonie on foot), but according to Google Maps it's a 16 minute (1.2 km) walk to Tock's Montreal Deli.

Not sure if the surfing is the Fast Forward. Otherwise, that's a lot of teams going for it.

Maybe the FF is in Shanghai? Something like:

-Take the train to Shangai
-Do an Route Info task at Tock's
-Fast Forward
-Roadblock

Fly to Thailand

- Detour (Surfing or ?)
-RI
-Pitstop

Then the  FF winners would be on the same flight then everybody else, but they would go directly to the pitstop upon arriving, making sure they are 1 place (unless they get lost from the airport to the pitstop).

Sneak Peek is Sam & Paul outside Beijingnan Station. Sinorama agent gives them RI with itinerary and train tickets to Shanghai, which they drop on ground. They realize they have lost their tickets and must go looking for them in the dark.

http://www.edmontonsun.com/2017/07/28/the-amazing-race-canada-behind-the-scenes-as-the-racers-recover-in-bangkok#.WXydebrYEfU.facebook

Article about this leg :

''At the end of the non-elimination fifth leg of the season (which aired last week), the remaining seven TARC teams finally got an off-day in Thailand’s capital''

I'm not sure if they did a mistake or spoil it, but the leg that just aired was leg 4, no?

Also, just one task in Shanghai:
No one claimed to have had more than four hours’ sleep in their journey from B.C. to Beijing to Shanghai (where they stopped for travel instructions at a Montreal-themed deli) and then Bangkok.

Also, it seems the author talked to every team except one, who is just mentioned...

Tasks in Thailand:

Happily for the recovering racers, the Bangkok leg of the race (which airs Tuesday) would offer mental challenges for those who weren’t up for the physical. Racers performed the puppet show of the Monkey God in an Artists House on the Yodpiman River Walk.

Later, one of the Detour options would be decorating a Tuk Tuk to exact specifications at the Amulet Market at the Buddhist Khlong Thom Center.

On the physical side, there was the Fast Forward opportunity to play the national sport Takraw at the Bangkok National Stadium. Kind of a combination of soccer and basketball, Takraw involves kicking a wicker ball into an elevated hoop for points.

And then there was “Shred It,” the Surfing Detour.

You only pasted half the section about Thailand :)

Later down, Kenneth & Ryan actually admit being aware of the "five-hole" as RHAP calls it (if you get a task related to your occupation, you're likely to fail at it)

Completely forgot I'd not posted this, but as it just came up on the podcast edit I remembered! The episode title will make sense when you know that whilst in Bangkok, they visit the Hayley-memorial location - the cat café.

That article didn't do the greatest job describing the sport of takraw. If you look it up, yeah it's a wicker ball, and it's basically like playing volleyball with your feet. They kick it over the net.

Actually looks difficult.

Is it me, or they did interviews for this article AFTER the leg in Thailand?
If so, its easy to see who was eliminated
