So they're in Corner Brook now? That's the main population centre for the western half of Newfoundland, I'd assume they'd fly in there.

More Locations From the Ottawa leg

Via FB
Brush with fame today. The Amazing Race is being filmed in Ottawa right now. . . racing off to a meeting at the Museum of Civilization with Chile to discuss sustainability and who opens the door for me? John Montgomery!!! OMG He is so nice and adorably cute! Recognized his voice the moment he spoke but was shocked when I turned . . . as I think I am bigger than him! Could easily take him one on one!

Museum of Civilization was the old name for the now Museum of History in Gatineau. Locals continue to call it the Museum of Civilization though! Same place.

Thanks. :bunny Clearly I'm not from Canada.

No worries!!

Deer Lake is the airport hub for the Western Part of the Island. Pretty sure only flights in and around Newfoundland (Gander, Happy Valley/Goose Bay, St. John's) to Halifax, Toronto, and maybe Saint Pierre and Miquelon. (French Territory off the coast of Newfoundland)

There's no airport in Corner Brook actually! Known for Humber River, and Marble Zipline. The zipline is awesome!!! I could c a visit there.

Deer Lake is about 20 minutes away. I assume its self driving because taxis are VERY scarce in NL (Except for SJ)

Welcome :)

What's up the Viking Trail? Have you ever been out that way? Last going off, they were apparently headed toward Gros Morne. It's a big park, so not surprised they'd be hard to spot.

Up the viking trail u have Gros Morne National Park, a lot of smallllll towns and then at the tip is St. ANthony, L'anse aux meadows, and the labrador ferry. I doubt they will go to labrador,  L'anse aux meadows or St. Anthony where its a very long drive.

How about an iceberg related task. Is this the right time of year for iceberg tours.

Newfoundland was seemingly Leg 7. 8 is when they went international for the second time last season. From the east coast, somewhere in Europe is likely.

Predicting a prairie city/territory finish. Can't see them snubbing both Saskatchewan and Manitoba for a second straight year.

From the Viking person:

The Amazing Race (Canada) had an episode filmed right in our town of Woody Point across our road. Not allowed telling you who did what, how or where!!!! :) It was a Viking scene and since L'Anse aux Meadows had too much snow, they filmed here in Gros Morne Nat Park.

Comments: Very exciting, watched some of it from the upstairs bedroom!, :funny:
