The DVR ratings that were posted just further prove that Live ratings still do matter. Other episodes had gone from 0.9 to 1.5, and that episode went from a 0.6 to 1.2.

I'm well aware that Live ratings aren't the only important metric anymore, but that's still where most of the bills get paid. To write them off as unimportant is foolish.

On finale night,
Other CBS pulled 0.6 and were all reruns
0.8 is impressive

A bit better news for people thinking this finale + same day dvr would drop due to the winners - we adjusted up a point on our finale to hit a 0.8.

For anyone who wants to know more about which ratings matter, I've copied and pasted this blurb from http://tvbythenumbers.zap2it.com/daily-ratings/tv-ratings-monday-june-5-2017/
Quote
This is from BM: "Do advertisers really care about L+7 or 3 or whatever math networks are using to goose their numbers? Maybe I'm odd, but when I'm watching a recorded show, never do I sit through the commercials. If I'm an advertiser, delayed playback wouldn't matter."

L+3 and L+7 ratings are used by the networks to evaluate shows and for PR purposes. When these metrics first appeared on the scene, the cry among executives was, "Wait for the Live plus 3s before you come to a conclusion regarding a show." It is now simply accepted that ALL shows add viewers with delayed viewing, but as I have said, the rich get richer and the poor get a little less poor. The big shows get the most delayed viewing, and the smaller shows may have bigger percentage increases for their audience, but they are still the smaller shows.
Media buyers care about the C3 and C7 ratings, which are the average minute ratings for the NETWORK commercials within a show. If you fast forward through the commercial, you will not be counted. If you stop to watch a commercial (people do), you will be counted.
If my memory serves me, the L+SD ratings are fairly close to the C3 ratings, but someone out there can email me if that is no longer true.

Thanks for the info slayton! While I do think that "The Masked Scheduler" is FOS at times, I have to agree that in this era of steadily declining ratings, Live + SD is no longer as accurate as it used to be.

Also some more news now that the 2016-2017 season is officially over, TAR averaged a 0.6 gain in Live +3, and averaged a 2.06 million gain in viewers. While our numbers aren's amazing, it's definitely notable that in terms of VIEWER GAIN, we are in the Top 25!

The South Korean episode had the highest percentage gain in +7 (in the 18-49 demo) among all shows!

Also first time beating Survivor in demo gains.

I sincerely hope that this giant red flag of 10 pm not being a suitable timeslot, instead of the show having run it's course, reaches CBS.

Nice! Not as much of a DVR hit as I expected of the finale.

I guess the ratings weren't too bad this year, knowing that we have just come back from hiatus!

Finale Live +7 ratings are in! (and the last numbers of the season)

#7 overall in increase from 0.8 to a 1.4, and #3 overall in viewer increase from 3.91 million to 6.05 million viewers. Considering how our Live +7 more or less equaled TAR28, it's easy to see how this could have been a factor in our renewal (AND, unlike TAR28, we actually cracked the Live +7 Top 30 every week minus Episode 6). Good job TAR29!
