I remember one of the analysts at tvbythenumbers once said that how a show performs within its own network is more important than how it does against another network's shows.

So, as with any show, it'll likely boil down to where TAR ranks among CBS shows, and TAR's production budget versus its ratings performance. (TAR29 already seems like one of the cheapest seasons, task-wise, in a while.)

This times one thousand. Its not competing against The Catch and The Blacklist. Its competing against CBS shows that have yet to be renewed, such as Hunted, Criminal Minds Beyond Borders, Code Black, etc.

I think the lack of a non elimination leg so far is a cost cutting move. Get more teams out of the race early and you save a little money.

We're already doing better than 28 in one respect: We have hit the live +3 or live +7 top 25 weekly three times in a row.

TAR28 only hit it 4x in the ENTIRE season.

Desperate for this show to hit season 30

Is Thursday at 10 worse than Friday at 8 time slot wise?

Down to a 0.7 last night, per showbuzz. NOT good, another series low as the audience continues to erode.

Before anyone mentions how competition was increased due to the NFL draft, it didn't affect other shows in the hour, as we were beaten by Blacklist

It is definitely not good :(

The only slight positive I can mention was that it went up from 3.84 to 3.87 million from last week's 10 PM outing.

We'll really have to cross our fingers for the DVR ratings.

DVR Ratings for our 2-hour outing is out (Live +3) and we still cracked the Top 25 (9 PM tied for #16 and 10 PM tied for #24):

0.9 to a 1.4 and a 0.8 to a 1.3 respectively 18-49 share wise, with 9 PM boosting to 6,173,000 viewers as the #25 most viewed show of that week.

I was looking at the ratings of past seasons and I was surprised by the total, the dvr really propelled it higher. Like S.27's E01 it had 5.82 million viewers, adding the dvr it totaled 8.11 million. S.26 E05 initially totaled a 6.05 million, adding the dvr it garnered an 8.00 million. S.25's Finale had a total of 8.18 Million in viewers. It gave me the impression that TAR is still doing really well. I'm just disappointed that the long gap of showing S.29 affected it coupled with the late timeslot is killing it. There is interest from what I've been seeing from the castings, people are lining up to be on the show. I'm still hoping that the dvr's for this season will save it. Hoping for more seasons in the future and hopefully a move to a better timeslot. Can't we fans petition that?

Was coming here to post the same thing. Definitely does not help TAR's chances. We will know at some point in the next 2 weeks, as CBS has their upfront presentation coming up.

In some point, TV By the Numbers has the weekly cancellation bear that TAR must going to have renewed or cancellation as it will be undecided on the show's fate by before 2 weeks time.

TVBTN only covers scripted shows. Most of CBS's decisions have already been made. Only a handful of shows are awaiting their fate, TAR among them. Off the top of my head, Hunted, Code black, and the criminal minds spinoff are among the only other shows awaiting word.

Dunno, there may still be hope for a Season 30. New DVR numbers are in, and so far every week has been over 6 million after DVR.

That's great!! How did it stand up to the competition? Did we win the hour?

No, The Blacklist had a 1.7 rating when all said and done. I don't think these ratings are great at all, but I do have hope we will get one more race.

Blacklist has more total viewers right? So how can we be first? ???
