No need to apologize - I wasn't offended. It did highlight to me that perhaps I haven't been spending enough time here...

Has it really been 8 years?

Well, you did start on May 6, 2008, so it's been 8 years, 6 months and 26 days!  :funny:

Lysakowski, Bickerton & Yerxa were doing interviews in Winnipeg today. They were in Vancouver earlier in the week. Does anyone know/remember if they traveled in previous seasons?

I also saw on their twitter that they were in Saskatoon last week... And in Waterloo today!
I'm curious that they are doing the interviews soo quickly after the deadline!

Hi.  Newbie here.  I saw their Twitter posts too. Maybe they weren't interviewing but Race scouting instead?  Seems early to be interviewing.  I always assumed they interviewed in Toronto.

Welcome to RFF!
Pretty certain they were interviewing, not just scouting. The application deadline passed and they moved on to the next stage. They do not do formal casting calls BUT in previous years, they have gone on makeshift scouting missions to various locations...always BEFORE the application deadlines.
According to Mike Bickerton on Twitter yesterday:
Dec 11 Vancouver
Dec 13 Calgary
Dec 15 Saskatoon
Dec 16 Winnipeg
Dec 18 Toronto, where they went to Cambridge/Kitchener/Waterloo

Oh and one more thing....

Yes! You can see in his other tweets/instagram post that one part of the interview is answering question with a me/my partner answer (ex: who is the best athlete in the team).

I guess there will be a second round of interview for the east, with stops in Ottawa, Montréal, Halifax and maybe St-Johns? (spec)

So, you'd THINK they would of stopped the interviews on Dec 18.

When will they start again?

I would think maybe December 28-29??

I assume they also have a tonne of interviews to do in Toronto (given the population of the city).  Maybe they are crossing the country first and will finish in Toronto.  Of course this is all speculation.

Yes. Both Mark Lysakowski and Mike Bickerton arrived in St. John's late this afternoon. I imagine they will do interviews tomorrow. :hoot:

Do we think the interviews in Toronto are done?

I can only speculate. I know that Mike Yerxa went home to family in the Maritimes for the holidays. So, they could have started their "tour" in Toronto, done them just before Xmas break (which I doubt, because of time) or they will finish there. Maybe the latter?

I just can't see that happening.
If it were to, this would have been the year to do it (Canada's sesquicentennial).

This goes into speculation, but wouldn't it be a great idea to have a public starting line, like in S25 and S27.
Maybe in front of the Parliament in Ottawa, for Canada's 150th bday...with some Politicians, and maybe even PM Trudeau hahaha

I don't think it's out of the realm of possibilities. It's a great start line, and with all the spoilers that would appear on SM, they may as well make it public. I would just hope for 24 hr notice. Ottawa is a 7 hour drive for me (on a good day LOL), but I would be there with bells on.

The answer is no. Its always a 1 season per year show since its launch in 2013 to attract the summer viewers.

^^Claude's opinion...not fact.
