Because two tweets saw them.

My guess is they are ALL safe. :funny:

I definitely think Cuba is a big possibility.  Panama is such an easy jump-off point for it.

That would be great on the heels of
Show content
TAR Canada's visit this season
. But I'm not sure how US viewers would respond to that after being unknown territory to them for 50 years.

If that happens, it would be history in the making as The Amazing Race (U.S TV Series, not Canadian version) could be the 1st reality show to film there now that the U.S.-Cuba relations are improving. Fast and the Furious 8 recently filmed there last May, so did Conan O'Brien's late night show earlier in March.

As far as I know, Conan's Cuba episode was well received.

I would say that TAR doesn't have that big an audience that a visit to Cuba would make any kind of headlines.  The show's lost half of the audience from TAR22 when the Vietnam controversy stirred things up.

From the lives
the couple with brunette and strawberry blond is most likely Team 3
https://www.google.com/search?q=strawberry+blonde&espv=2&biw=1024&bih=667&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwiPh8vS9aLNAhVY6WMKHW-9Ag8Q_AUIBigB

On side note, it seems like the teams seen were on the first flight in the last leg. And since the second flight was delayed 2? hours , it could be possible someone from that group is out if not a non-elim

I took a look at Gamboa, Panama on Google Earth. It's inland and where the Chagres River enters the Panama Canal. The pictures seemed to match the background of Phil and the woman. I also saw that there was a village of the Embera Indians catering to tourists and another picture showed the Embera indians meeting tour buses in their dugout canoes. That seems like something they may be using for this leg.

Leg 1 is probably a NEL, as I speculated in an earlier post, but I hope this gets confirmed soon. :yess:

On Cuba though, I guess I'll have to wait and see for this one.

Since they started pretty early and there flying somewhere, it is possible we will see them later on somewhere. Hopefully...

Yep. It's not a big deal anymore...no matter what stunts TAR does, the ratings will remain low.

Thanks for that upbeat and positive assessment.  :hearts:

So, there's two Panama legs?

No, because we saw racers departing this AM.

Almost certainly that leg was yesterday, waiting for confirmation.

So, there's two Panama legs?

Maybe not, there was a sighting at the airport. Doubtful they'd get on a plane for another leg, Panama's a tiny country.

And as for Cuba, if that were the case we may have heard something by now. Based on the distance, wouldn't that be like a 1 hour flight, 2 hours at most?

If leg 2 is in fact Sao Paulo.
Production probably had Phil in earlier flight, with teams getting bunched for the one arriving 6h20.

Though from the few information I'm gathering here, seems that it's unlikely, and things pointing out to Sao Paulo, might actually be for a local race.

Has TAR ever jumped from South America to Asia? ???
I'm now doubting on a westward route, but TAR13 went to NZ from South America iirc, so there's still a chance.

Other than TAR13 which went from Bolivia to New Zealand, I don't think any other season has gone west from South America.  And I believe the biggest reason is the lack of flights from South America to Asia and how expensive those few flights are.  They could of course fly to Asia through LA.  But it would appear easier to just go east from Central/South America.

There are flights from South America to Australia, New Zealand, French Polynesia but they are quite expensive. If they are going to Asia, South Korea's flag carrier, Korean Air offers a flight to Sao Paulo via Los Angeles. Also Emirates and Qatar Airways offer direct flights to U.A.E. and Qatar respectively, even Singapore Airlines does via Barcelona. Logical would be Europe or Africa, given that there a numerous flights going east.

Team 6 (F/F) spotted in Sao Paulo. They're the only ones so far.

According to the Sighting thread, the girls appear to be on the Sao Paulo Metro Line #2 (Verde Line) heading to Se Station.  The sign behind them is lit up showing them passing the Brigadeiro Station, where they will have to switch to the Blue Line (at Paraiso Station) to get to Se Station.   :groan:  ...maybe  :snicker:
