HAVE WE EVER ??
« on: May 25, 2016, 01:13:08 PM »
Have we ever had a season with so many rest days for the racers?   :ascared

Seems like there were more than I remember from other seasons.

Having gotten used to the lean mean 21 day TAR US machine, it is a bit of a shock to see teams have rest days between legs like this.

And also to see them wandering around alone in Subways, stores, even the mall.

WHat do you all think?

Do you like keeping them stressed a bit and never knowing what is next?

Or do y'all like letting them rest and recoup before each leg? ???

I do think less rest=more drama....   :hides

I think its the travel schedules if anything. Hamilton to Kingston I believe was done b2b to make for lost time.

Season 3 took 28 days to film, Season 2 took 26, this was about the same. I guess that's just TAR Canada's way.

Definitely, shorter Pit Stops mean they're more sleep-deprived, they're hungrier. A recipe for drama.

The longest rest was after the Prince Rupert leg. I don't know if that was a schedule thing or an intended rest for the long haul to Hamilton + KOR to Kingston.
In retrospect, the rest between Saint John/St Andrews and Montreal can be explained as schedule. They would have had to be released in the middle of the night to travel to final leg, so the rest period would have been insufficient. I also noticed there were holiday events in Montreal on Monday which the city probably would not allow TPTB to close down...especially Mont Royal.
But I do agree, less rest is more stressful and more fun for us!  (:;):funny:

I wonder whether there were some scheduling issues with the Ft. McMurray fires perhaps requiring a last minute change of plans?

And we still don't have a good idea of who the sponsors are for this season - except Chevrolet. Travel dollar efficiency may have required taking less expensive (and less frequent) flights that constrained the schedule.
From there to here, and here to there,
funny things are everywhere
