As what Carol & Brandy of Season 16 said during their elimination in Singapore: "Dumb did us in!" Well, these "dumb" twists are nailing the show to the brink of cancellation or should we say elimination. I wonder how the casuals are going to react to this. As a TAR purist, I'll drop the axe on this one, not a good twist. I'll watch it for the sole fact I've been watching TAR since Season 1 up to the recently concluded Season 28.

(:;)  (:;)

Complaining and quitting won't help matters though... it will only prove the annoying casual fans right.

Best choice is to hope for the best. It's not over till it's over!

Us RFF fans (well, most of us at least) won't quit the show until it lasts, whatever stupid twists CBS comes up with.
But I doubt the FB casuals will be happy. I'm pretty sure they won't be.
Even before this recent social media season they were spamming "geo back to normal people", "why do they all look like models", "give average Americans a chance" and they definitely didn't support the Blind Date twist in S26.

Prepare for an uproar, though there's still a lot of time until the official announcement. (Unless it's a public start, which I have no idea about.)

It's absolutely freaking ironic how casuals respond to TAR26 in general considering they all loved the idea of Mark & Mallory but then these people also love the cowboys so yeah.

They only liked the idea of Mark & Mallory because they were gasping for Bopper & Mark, so were happy with at least one of them racing?
And then everyone hated Mallory after leg 2 :groan:

But whatever, this is not about the upcoming season.

No, I distinctly remember a lot of casual comments going "throw together strangers as a team good idea!!!" and it would usually be the top comment and then 26 happened and suddenly it was the worst idea ever.

I digress though! :P

I'd rather watch a full season of actual, non-famous pairs than a season full of single applicants and "YouTube stars".

The twist seems really bad right now, but I'll just wait and see.

The only thing this has done to me is not be excited for the next season (yet).

I will never quit. If us, the most faithful fans of TAR quit, then it will go downhill until the cancelation. If I don't like a twist but I know my views are going to help the show, I'll continue watching.
However, we don't really know if we like the twist or not untill it started. We didn't like the Blind Dates at all and it gave us awesome teams. Same for Youtube twist. Tbh I'll always like TAR, no matter what twist they bring on it. <3

Btw, I'm not american, so I don't watch the live show, so I can't help the show in any way. lol lol lol #ItSucks

I'm tired of the we want normal people argument.  The social media season is a top 5 season for me and I would like another one please.  If you think YouTube celebs aren't normal people, then you're being a bit prejudice.  Besides, what do you mean by normal people?

That's a cliche term mostly utterred by FB casuals, but it mostly refers to average Americans, people of all ages and sizes.

Exactly. I don't want any more contestant themes.

These are real people,  not stars or celebs as much as I know.

They will be having the added challenge of not only running the race, but dealing with a stranger 24/7. Let's wait to see how that plays out before we judge?? Our blind dater Final 3 showed us it sure is possible!!

Yeah well I'm pretty positive it'll play out well and we'll get an above average season, but it's just that with such themes TAR strays even more from its original format of teams with preexisting relationships.
I believe even you Peach expressed such dissatisfaction when the Blind Date twist was announced? Or maybe it was some other RFFers.

Anyway, however pessimistic my posts in this thread seem/are, I'm still hella excited for the filming to start, since I want to know the route

Hoping for more new countries! (and give China a rest, please)

They've been doing good for that after a dry spell from 21-24. There's still many safe countries in the world they could choose.

Then I'm clearly not watching this season, or any more seasons until there's unknowns and no themes. .

For the TAR 29
I highly doubt that it will have a westward start

Zika Virus are very common in Americas
Plus Copa America and Euro 2016

And the low chance of re-visiting China
Japan and South Korea will have a high possibility for Leg 1

Executive producer of TAR states that there will be new countries

I think Laos/Qatar will be an option
