That's TAR26-numbers!  :hearts: :hearts: :hearts:

Here's hoping it goes up, up, and higher, I did notice a LOT of "I didn't know it was on" comments on social media yesterday.

Adversely, I also noticed a ton of "I turned it off by the halfway point. Worst cast ever" comments. I think it's going to drop by the week.

Here's some numbers to show that:
Quote
8:00 - 6.42 million (#1), A18-49: 1.3/5
8:30 - 5.82 million (#1), A18-49: 1.2/4

At least we've been consistent in the 1.0-1.2 demo for the past 4 seasons  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

At least The Amazing Race seems to be solid as a rock.

It won the 8:00 hour. So as long as it can do that, CBS should be happy.

People is pretty dumb sometimes. They judge the season before they watch it. Of course the first 15 minutes, where they have to present the cast is the less fun, but it all turns better when they start to race. I think almost everybody dislikes the cast at first, but after watched the episode, it's totally a great season. But well, you know, Facebook fans aren't the most "clever".
Let's hope the people give to TAR a second chance and they increase the ratings. :P

People will whinge regardless of the cast. They all have a nostalgia of sorts with older seasons. However it's extremely irritating to say anyone is not a normal person or "average joe". All these people made something of themselves by themselves.

I guess this discussion would go here too.  But how did the show do on social media?

I remember #AmazingRace trending on Twitter and Facebook for TAR27's premiere.  But I didn't see it trending on Friday.  Only some Tyler & Korey hashtag in the US.

Must have been trending only a short time.  Didn't see it all, but definitely remember seeing it trending previous seasons.  I did see Tyler & Korey trending in the US though.

Another interesting online measure is Google Trends.
For "Amazing Race": https://www.google.com/trends/explore#q=Amazing%20Race&date=today%2012-m&cmpt=q&tz=Etc%2FGMT%2B8
and "The Amazing Race": https://www.google.com/trends/explore#q=The%20Amazing%20Race&date=today%2012-m&cmpt=q&tz=Etc%2FGMT%2B8

It seems there was slightly less interest this premiere week than there has been for at least TAR26's finale week and TAR27's premiere and finale weeks.

I don't think TAR 27 had it's cast release trending
Maybe not. But it was definitely trending when it premiered.

Those are live plus same day numbers. Nielsen still has Live plus 7 days (no longer mentioning live plus 3, so I assume that's no longer produced) and that will have the largest bulk of time shifted viewing.

This means it was rated higher than any episode of last season

And highest numbers since TAR26 Episode 5!

Since The Good Wife is on its final season, will we be seeing TAR moving back to Sunday nights if the ratings stay solid or somehow improve?

A 6 million average is pretty good for viewership, but as the season progresses it's more likely the younger one-team viewers will tune out once their team to look out for is eliminated. Let's hope ratings + viewers can stay stagnant.

UGH. March Madness!

One week is one thing, but TWO is something else. Can someone look and see what happened to 26's ratings then? Can't be good...

TAR26 was consistently 1.3-1.2, then post-break it plumetted to inconsistent 1.2-1.0 ratings. :(
Episodes 1 to 4 had 1.5, 1.1, 1.2 and 1.3 ratings respectively (unless we're looking at different sources and wikipedia is incorrect).
It returned after the fortnight break with a rating of 1.3 and then stayed consistently at 1.1 until the very finale.

So directly after the break the show wasn't affected, the way I see it. The ratings (and viewership as well) started decreasing only later.

CSI: Cyber is most likely toast and with The Good Wife gone, there are two big holes on CBS's Sunday schedule.

Ironically, TAR on Friday for this premiere did much better than the average of CBS's Sunday shows this season.

Here's praying the ratings stick for this season, as CBS is definitely experimenting with returning Reality TV to Sundays (Undercover Boss premiered for about 4 episodes on Sunday before heading back to Friday), and if the ratings were good enough, TAR is potentially headed back.
