I haven't seen anything yet that could be a possible detour... the fish could easily be Blair/Scott's speedbump

Detour A is unspecified by CBS: You Look Like Gollum"--Coverage of the CBS series THE AMAZING RACE, scheduled to air on the CBS Television Network.

BUT I can confirm that the task was to build a Beach Hut.


"You Look Like Gollum"--In Detour B, Cam/Darius, Erin/Joslyn, Marty/Hagan, Blair/Scott, Brittany/Jessica,  must prepare and grill three plates of fresh fish then serve the plates to guests waiting on the beach on THE AMAZING RACE, Friday, Feb. 19

If you looked closely, you saw a small fleet of Nissan Leaf electric cabs driving the teams to the airport. The cabs have been around for a few years (see here) but I don't think it was coincidence; production probably would have used them on Ep 1 were it not for the range/recharge problem (the pyramids are about an hour away from the city center).
