Dallas sub-Start
AA 225 leaves LAX at 9:35 am Arrives DFW at 2:40 pm

Miami sub-Start
AA189 leaves LAX at 7:35 am Arrives MIA at 3:24 pm

Las Vegas (spec) sub-Start
United 487 leaves LAX at 8:00 am Arrives LAS at 9:19 am
AeroMexico 481 leaves LAS at 12:55 pm Arrives MEX 6:52 pm

Assuming MEX to BOG is next, we have this potential flights:

AeroMéxico   AMX708   Tue 06:09PM CST (actual 6:19)       11:58PM COT Tue

There is also this flight below:

Avianca  Wed 12:28AM CST       05:31AM COT Wed

First instagram photo from leo_africanus had them at AeroMexico counter...second instagram was taken at appx. 5:40 CST...would they still be in the waiting area for a flight (international) that left 40 mins later?  I suppose so.

Additionally, the pic of teams in the waiting room matches Terminal 2 (which is where the AMX flight left from), not Terminal 1 (where Avianca leaves from).  On top of this, leo_africanus was going to Havana, and that flight also left from Terminal 2.  Anyone on the ground in Colombia?! :)

Here are the first four flights BOG>>Cartagena.

If they were split into the first two....the second flight teams REALLY got lucky!!   :<3

I checked buses, the ones I found didn't leave until 1-2 ish and would have taken 22-24 hrs, so that is out.

Can someone play with flights from BOG to Delhi please? I do not think time permits us to get there in time, if anyone can find a way please post the flight details here. Thanks!

I doubt it's us. I can't find any flights from Bogota to Dehli under 23 hours.

Spec (fastest I could find that fit parameters):

Avianca 9757 (confirmed-ish)  Cartagena-Bogota  Dep: 5:25 pm   Arr: 6:55 pm  (Fri, Nov 20)
Avianca 10   Bogota-Madrid  Dep: 9:43 pm  Arr: 1:25 pm (Fri-Sat)  (actual 10:20PM to 12:36PM)
Iberia 3486   Madrid-Geneva   Dep: 3:55 pm   Arr: 5:55 pm (Sat, Nov 21)   (actual 4:13-5:44)

Night arrival, fits dark sighting of Tyler.

For what it's worth, Phil and production could have taken one of these flight combos:

(CM) Copa Airlines 650
(BOG) Bogota, CO to (PTY) Panama City, PA
Actual Departure:                   Actual Arrival:
4:58 AM - Fri Nov-20-2015    6:31 AM - Fri Nov-20-2015

(UA) United Airlines 1022
(PTY) Panama City, PA to (EWR) Newark, NJ, US
Actual Departure:                      Actual Arrival:
9:34 AM - Fri Nov-20-2015       2:32 PM - Fri Nov-20-2015

(UA) United Airlines 956
(EWR) Newark, NJ, US to (GVA) Geneva, CH
Actual Departure:                     Actual Arrival:
5:43 PM - Fri Nov-20-2015       7:07 AM - Sat Nov-21-2015

Or they could have taken these flights and arrived around the same time:

(CM) Copa Airlines 650
(BOG) Bogota, CO to (PTY) Panama City, PA
Actual Departure:                     Actual Arrival:
4:58 AM - Fri Nov-20-2015      6:31 AM - Fri Nov-20-2015

(CM) Copa Airlines 304
(PTY) Panama City, PA to (IAD) Washington, DC, US
Actual Departure:                    Actual Arrival:
9:22 AM - Fri Nov-20-2015    2:06 PM - Fri Nov-20-2015

(UA) United Airlines 974
(IAD) Washington, DC, US to (GVA) Geneva, CH
Actual Departure:                  Actual Arrival:
5:44 PM - Fri Nov-20-2015    7:22 AM - Sat Nov-21-2015

This is not necessarily the fastest way, but one that works and arrives way ahead of the teams. Also, it fits with the timing of the tweet Phil sent yesterday afternoon.

^^ Could likely the teams from Chamonix and got ride the train back to Geneva:

FLIGHTS

OS 582 GVA-VIE 1738-1914 (scheduled 1735-1915; Tue, Nov 24)
OS 641, see above

Or

LH 1223 GVA-FRA 1824-1938 (scheduled 1825-1945; Tue, Nov 24)
SU 2305 FRA-SVO 2216-0324 (tue-wed; scheduled 2225-0325)
Train/bus to Domodedovo Airport
S7 909 DME-EVN 1015-1345 (scheduled 1005-1400; Wed, Nov 25)

Just a speculation.

According to this site, train 372 (the colors seem to match) is an overnight sleeper arriving at Tbilisi in the early morning. Unless the race instructions prohibit 1st class, this might be a good time to spend some extra money for a good night's sleep.

Negative sights from the on-the-ground team at 10.30 AM flight...

presumably teams arriving at the later flight, at 10.00 PM....

but Phil and other crew might arrived already with the 10.30 AM flight...

That could be right, Zouly.

The teams are on the connected flight to Denpasar/Bali into earlier departures and arrivals:

EK 354 DXB-SIN 0321-1431 (scheduled 0315-1440, Dec 1st)
SQ 946 SIN-DPS 1625-1931 (scheduled 1625-1910, also Dec 1st)

EK 356 DXB-CGK 0430-1518 (scheduled 0435-1545, date as above)
GA 426 CGK-DPS 1705-2010 (date as above)

Normally, Phil, Bertram and Elise left Dubai within the early hours of November 30th.

Terminal 1? If that's true, then maybe teams are not taking Emirates, since all Emirates flights are in Terminal 3. ???

Is it possible teams could have wandered to Terminal 1 looking for different flight options before settling on Emirates? Singapore, Malaysia, and Thai Airways all fly out of Terminal 1, and they offer connections (albeit slower ones) to Bali.

they went back to LA via Guangzhou but did they definitely fly into Hong Kong? I would make sense to fly into Guangzhou because they don't have cross a border and they won't have Hong Kong visited again. And also Shenzhen airport is quite big, they have direct flights to Bali meaning they could have just flown straight there.

So I think I can provide some information about the reason why they go to guangzhou

For HK:
They have to cross the boarder and board the MTR and transit in different station(From Lo Wu to Airport).
I think it takes probably two hours.

For Guangzhou:
teams can board a shuttle bus to guangzhou
(Since I always go to Shenzhen and take the bus to rural town of China and visit my grandparents)
Shuttle bus may be one of alternate path to guangzhou (3-4 buses/one day)
(Or teams may get a task in guangzhou)

Moreover, there is also an option or the teams to travel from Shenzhen to guangzhou
Probably take 1.5 hrs on average

I hope my info helps
