TAR 28 Speculation and Discussion of **SPOILERS**
« on: November 11, 2015, 01:00:50 AM »
This thread is the WORKZONE of our spoilers.

This is where ALL the spoiler speculation/discussion of the TAR 28 race goes, NOT in the LIVE thread. It is where we try to thrash out what the LIVE sightings mean.

As always, per RFF's practices, we do not spoil the start location (if known) or any teams until it is believed that the teams are safely underway. We would never want to put a team in jeopardy or cause them distress or interfere with the actual running of the race. Info on future legs may also occasionally be protected for those reasons. But if you have info to share beforehand , we would love to know, so please PM or email me! Spoilers are treasured!

This thread will be opened once the race has actually begun.
RFF's Golden Rule:
Have RESPECT for each other, regardless of opinion. This of course includes no flaming/insulting other users and/or their posts.

Since they'll be at the first destination by tomorrow evening...might the race actually start today/tonight (if going across the ocean...which would make sense if they're wanting daylight)?  If first destination is in the Americas, the race might start tomorrow morning, but that would mean nighttime at the destination.

I think there's a very good chance the race will start today. I recommend keeping an eye out for any social media reports starting now.

I'm not sure how the timing is going to work out to get streaming out while the race is running. Maybe Phil will actually be streaming after the leg is over. If they are streaming during the leg, then I expect something like an HOO to get the action going during the announced window of time.

I like this train of thought... same time zones as the USA...  hmmm let me think..... oh oh, could this be an excuse to visit our neighbors to the north, Canada.   :grins:   Make you wonder.... Naaah! been there, done that ....  :funny:  Back to reality.....  :iok

Just speculation on my part but if they are broadcasting from the first destination they would have an idea of the approximate time flight should land and time needed to clear customs.  Then first destination could be somewhere like Hawaii where it would not be necessary to go through customs

I like your thinking and we do have precedent for the show going to US territory (TAR25, Virgin Islands)

Interesting...but what if we switch things around and make Hawaii the starting line.  If the streaming starts at  7:30PM PST then that's  5:30PM HAST.  Which means about sunset, maybe too dark to do anything.  So, how about using Guam as the starting line (technically part of the US, albeit a territory).  So Sunday 7:30PM PST is actually Monday 1:30PM ChST.  Plenty of daylight to view the start.   :)

Or they can just do what they have done countless times before and fly out of LAX in total darkness.  How exciting will that be on the live feed.   :(   :grins:

OK, back to reality...  nevermind.

My thoughts if Mexico City:

AeroMexico 647 - Depart 1:30 PST, Arr 6:50 CST
AeroMexico 9405 - Depart 2:05 PST, Arr 7:25 CST

Two flights to divide...

That's ~2.5 hours to pitstop.  Will the livestream be from pit stop?

No teams yet, but could the starting line be in Mexico?

The first destination of the race is technically the starting line. Without it, how do you get to the second destination? :funny:

Mexico would be nice. Season 3, it's another country overdue for a revisit.

Jessica and Brittany seen in ATL.

Assuming Mexico City -
Delta 345 - Dep 4:55 EST, Arr 7:33 CST.

Still two hours from when Phil would be livestreaming.  So, we probably have teams in LAX (around 3:00 EST) and ATL around the same time...maybe first group gets a non-stop and others get to connect in ATL?  Or maybe another connection city?

FYI, flights from LAX to ATL that would have arrived now left LAX this morning (see below...but this is moot if teams started there).

Okay. It had previously been reported that with this high visibility cast that they might travel independently.

Interesting.  So perhaps no official start line?

Instagram from kiasu88 looks like Terminal 2 (which is where MEX flights are leaving from)

Perhaps misunderstood then.  :)  I thought it meant independent travel from wherever they were to first destination...but perhaps you meant independent flights from LA to other connection cities, arriving approx same time.

It's the Tyler Oakley fans especially that will be an invaluable source for sightings.

They sound like the obsessed type that will follow him anywhere.
