Just for fun! :hrt:

Basically, grade each TAR season with "Letter grades" for each leg and a final season grade.

Here's mine for TAR20, for example!

Leg 6: C+
Leg 7: A-
Leg 8: A
Leg 9: A
Leg 10: B
Leg 11: A-
Leg 12: B-

Final Season Grade: A-

What would be yours? :)

IMO, I think this season totally blows if you compare it to TAR25, which you technically have done. Just saying :P

Plus, the editing sucks majorly, which definitely soured everyone else with the oversaturation of Texas and Justin.

I personally think one of the reasons 27 is so underwhelming is because we, the fans, were overhyped. In the secret scenes and some others, the other teams really shine, but on the show all they get is either an invisible edit or a boring edit =/

I know we definitely overhyped this season, so not only is it not good, it's even worse than we expected. *sighs*

I don't think TAR 27 is too horrid compared to post UB era tbh... But yes don't compare to TAR 25 because that season had full packages to be the best season ever... Cast, location, leg design, task and editing, TAR 25>>> TAR 27

TAr 27 i think still a good season (excluding the rest of the legs), amazing cast, amazing route and location, but WRP need to execute better for rest of the leg because it tend to be boring so...

Justin/Diana (lol i've to hide :funny: )
it's kinda shame to only focused on them like it was kinda unfair lol whille we have the best shot and moment on secret scenes, not the real show lol...

If this is the trend, in your opinion, for this season. I hope it continues. An "A+" for the finale is very challenging for WRP now.

+1. Season 25 had everything, the editing was absolutely great, I can't fault it. The secret scenes also had those gold moments that are an added bonus to the awesome edits shown to us viewers. The tasks are definitely part of the culture of that specific country and you could tell they really thought of it. The cast was awesome, all of them. It also seemed that the producers listened to a request by some fans. (A visit to Philippines after 20 seasons + infamous "My Ox Is Broken" Switchback. I read somewhere that the US Virgin Islands leg was supposed to be a Belize leg and Bertram mentioned something about a planned visit to Qatar in that season. I just wished that Dennis & Isabelle (Very lovable dating couple that got eliminated all because of punting) and Lisa & Michelle made it further (I got Brooke & Claire vibes from them) and that Kym & Alli made the Final 3 rather than Misti & Jim. Overall Season 25 was a great season.

Comparing it with Season 27, they had every element to make it a great season however they failed to execute it. Some of the tasks are meh. The gold moments are in the secret scenes and almost everyone on the planet can't even see them. Certain teams were eliminated and I felt that I never saw them that much. I do appreciate the effort of toning down Tanner & Josh's  rivalry and showing their fun parts lately (sightseeing in Paris and having fun in The Netherlands) and that we get to see other teams in the editing. I'm still hoping that the next legs deliver.

Sorry for O.T. Collectively grading Season 27's Leg 1- Leg 7. I'll give it a C.

I guess I am in the minority here. TAR27 is actually quite decent (minus the episodes where they focused too much on the Texas ad Green team rivalry). I will give the current season at least a B.

TAR25, one of my recent faves. :conf:
Leg 1: US Virgin Islands B+ The season started out well. :)
Leg 2: UK B- It was okay, but there were editing flaws.
Leg 3: UK B Quite similar to the previous leg, but less editing flaws.
Leg 4: Sweden + Denmark A Gotta love the plot twist on the Dentists. :funny:
Leg 5: Morocco B+ The drama with Shelley & Nici is still fresh in my head.
Leg 6: Morocco B- Linear and dull, but satisfactory it was.
Leg 7: Italy B+ It was a decent leg in my opinion. :)
Leg 8: Malta B+ Another decent leg. :)
Leg 9: Singapore B It was good, especially the part with the FF.
Leg 10: Philippines B- I was craving for a Philippine visit, but this one was underwhelming.
Leg 11: Philippines B+ Thanks to the F4 twist that time. :) I'm still regretting about not being able to go to Divisoria (roadblock location). I could've discovered the F4 twist. :tantrum
Leg 12: Los Angeles, USA A- I loved how the episode turned out. :)

I'm not sure about the accuracy since it was a year ago, but it's my recent favorite, so I think it is. :)

While it's fresh:

TAR28:
Leg 1: B+
Leg 2: A
Leg 3: B+

Updating this while it's fresh.
Leg 4: B+

The 3 B+'s could've been A's or A-'s.
Leg 1 had a messy editing at the beginning, while also looking crammed.
Leg 3 had a boring start.
Leg 4 had a dull end.
They were still great episodes though, which is why B+ is what I think of those episodes. :hrt:

I wasn't ever going to do this because I didn't wanna do it without some sort of grading system. I'll just think about how much I liked the tasks and if the teams provided enough entertainment/drama

TAR 28
Leg 01: B+
Show content
Cool Detour and Roadblock in the same first leg boosts this episode by a LOT. And somehow the teams were well-developed--I think that's because of the short opening scene--which dragged this episode down a bit for me.

Leg 02: A-
Show content
Better Detour but the Roadblock was pretty straightforward. Thankfully, there was enough entertainment from the teams and suspense provided by Marty & Hagan and Darius & Cameron. Only a LITTLE better than Leg 1.

Leg 03: B+
Show content
OK Detour and I actually really loved the Roadblock. The first half of this episode is a flat B or even B-, but the second half of the episode helped boost it to a B+ :hearts: Favorite race to the finish in a while between Zach & Rachel and Darius & Cameron.

Leg 04: B-
Show content
The most balanced Detour so far and a Roadblock that requires both mental and physical strength. That's good--but the teams really messed it up for me with the ridiculous helping :( Annnd then production had to stick that train ride to France at the end

Leg 05: C
Show content
This leg was so boring. I don't think I watched the entirety of it yet because it was so boring.

Leg 06: C+
Show content
Awesome theater task that wasn't finished in 2 minutes by every single team. OK Detour, boring Roadblock.

Leg 07: A
Show content
Really good Detour with relevant tasks--balanced as a bonus! I don't usually like dance challenges but this one was fun--way better than dancing on the wall like in Season 27 :res: Teams delivered and I can't find anything to complain about, other than the elimination.

Leg 08: B
Show content
OK Detour, cool Roadblock, Poseidon's Revenge was a nice touch. Speaking of nice touches--self driving! Added a lot of drama which boosted the episode overall.

Leg 09: B
Show content
OK Route Info task, both Roadblocks were actually good! Rowing to the Pit Stop was a good touch as well. Overall a pretty physical leg. Despite some good tasks, the teams actually didn't deliver too much, which was a shame.

Leg 10:
Leg 11:
Leg 12:

This is just for recency purposes!

TAR28:

Leg 1: A- (I really loved it! The worst part was honestly the first ten minutes with the dumb home start and the OTT-ness of these teams about their social media following but then other than that it was easily the best premiere in a long long time. Easy A+ had it not been for the start.)

Leg 2: B- (I thought it was just alright. I had a hard time following things at the Detour though and I wasn't a fan of the linearity of the leg =/ )

Leg 3: B+ (Meh start, AMAZING second half. The teams right after Sheri & Cole finished the task all delivered and it was such an entertaining episode. Transformed a C- episode to a B+.)

Leg 4: D- (It felt like a TAR24 remake and the only thing saving this episode was the tasks =/ )

Leg 5: F (lol.)

Leg 6: A- (Aside from a meh Roadblock, forced #Blodie, and Tyler finally being insufferable, easily the best of the season!)

Leg 7: A (It just got better lol. Amazing leg, excellent tasks, crappy boot =/)

Leg 8: B (I wasn't a big fan of the leg, but it was pretty tense, self-driving was good, and Dana's meltdowns saved it.)

Leg 9: B- (It was ok!)

Leg 10: D+ (It sucked!)

Leg 11: A- (It was great!)

TAR 28:
Leg 1: (United States - Mexico) C-
The virtual starting line was kind of weird to watch knowing their was no official starting line. The De-Tour was lopsided in my opinion and boring. The roadblock was okay, it's a bit sad though because the only reason this roadblock was enjoyable because of the team members stupidity. The leg being non-elimination was fine to me because obviously they wouldn't want to get rid of the players so fast if it's to earn more ratings. Overall it fell short.

Leg 2: (Mexico - Colombia) B+
A new country visit always makes it better, they tasks felt kind of squished, but both the roadblock and De-Tour was entertaining because of the difficulty and bickering between Dana & Matt. Seeing Mart & Hagan's struggle to make it to their taxi as Darius & Cameron drove by was great. Overall it was entertaining but not necessarily good design.

Leg 3: (Colombia) A
They continued racing through Cartagena which was kind of annoying, because I think they could have spent more time in a different city. The De-Tour was really cool though, because I felt as if they actually tried to demonstrate the culture of the city. The ticket De-Tour choice was great to watch but the Tejo one looked way easier. The roadblock is what made it entertaining, their was a lot of scrambling around and help and betrayal of helping teams, which led to a extremely climatic finish to the pit stop. Overall, the roadblock and de-tour were both good and the design of the leg and drama made it great.

Leg 4: (Colombia - Switzerland - France) D-
Switzerland is a very overused country, but the city hadn't been visited in a while which was cool. The De-Tour however was extremely boring, the choice was between making Swiss army knifes and sitting on a long bench, so that was not entertaining at all. The roadblock turned out to be even worse having all these teams work together and then excluding someone. The pit stop being in France was kind of climatic at the start, but turned out to be a very predictable ending. Overall bad leg design and boring drama.

Leg 5: (France) F
This leg was an absolute failure, pretty to look at, but boring and easy tasks, predictable finish and may be the worst legs ever (TAR 24 not included). Overall this leg had bad design, boring drama and they tried to coin #blodie so much.

Leg 6: (France - Armenia) B+
Another new country on the list which is cool, another one of the Caucasus countries, which haven't been visited in a while. The leg started off okay with the whole theater searching task, and Tyler and Korey falling into the back of the pack  :yess:. The lavash De-Tour was great to watch, because it showcased the culture, but the carpet one was pretty dull. cool locations like The Cascade and Mount Ararat were visited. The roadblock was dramatic and Sheri breaking down was fun. Continue racing is okay, don't really care. Overall the leg had fairly good design and showcased Armenian culture.

A lot of people say this which bugs me  :<3 Leg 2 wasn't really in Cartagena, Apart from the Pitstop. The leg was more rural in the small towns of Santa Catalina & Manzanillo del Mar and Leg 3 focused on the old city of Cartagena.
Also an F for leg 5! I mean it was linear but it wasn't that bad, if that was an F would you give S26 ep1 a U  :funny:. Anyway the ending I thought was amazing.

Chamonix was beautiful but it was meh as a leg.

This is just for recency purposes and because of the finale finishing.

Leg 12: C- (Really underwhelming and linear bye)

Overall Season Grade: B

TAR28: (Complete!)
Leg 1: B+
Leg 2: A
Leg 3: B+
Leg 4: B+
Leg 5: B
Leg 6: B-
Leg 7: A
Leg 8: B
Leg 9: B
Leg 10: B
Leg 11: A
Leg 12: B+

Overall: B+

Leg 1 had a messy editing, otherwise it could've gotten a higher rating.
Leg 2 with 11 teams are always awesome! :cheer: Well, as long as the leg design and the location are great too.
Leg 3 was boring from the beginning. Glad it got exciting towards the end.
Leg 4 could've gotten A or A-, but the teams bunching up before the pit stop just ruined it.
Leg 5 had tasks that are too simple. The location was amazing though!
Leg 6 could've been better, but that one roadblock ruined it.
Leg 7 had so much drama. We had Zach & Rachel win for the first and only time, and we see Tyler & Korey fighting to stay in the race! The tasks show so much culture, and they are ultimately difficult!
Leg 8 was more on TAR15 flashbacks and navigational drama. Yay for the return of self-driving! :conf:
Leg 9 had difficult tasks, but it came down to roadblock performances and mistakes.
Leg 10 would've been good, but the linearity messed it up.
Leg 11 was dramatic especially for the bottom 2. The tasks are difficult enough for a penultimate leg.
Leg 12 was fun, although not the best finale. It was decent too.

In what universe does the leg where Charla & Mirna get unnecessarily snubbed by Polish locals warrant a C lol?

It was a poorly designed leg, although I understand why they had to do that.

I edited my post above. Leg 7 alone was awful, but Leg 7 and 8 together was decent as a whole episode.

TAR13:
Leg 1: D- (if only they didn't bunch them and actually had teams compete + the Detour was boooooooooooooring)
Leg 2: C (the leg itself sucks and is worthy of an F, the episode itself with the teams is NOT worthy of an F)
Leg 3: C+ (Aside from dragging a little bit at the Roadblock it was alright but nothing special)
Leg 4: A+ (the best NZ leg ever)
Leg 5: B- (Just ok but the Detour was meh)
Leg 6: A+ (the best India night leg ever)
Leg 7: A+ (the second best India day leg ever)
Leg 8: A (painful elimination aside it was fun)
Leg 9: D- (I was falling asleep)
Leg 10: F (I fell asleep)
Leg 11: F (I fell asleep x2)

Overall Score: B-

If only Dandrew/Kelly & Christy/Terence & Sarah were the Final Three, the season would be better, yes?

Season 5

Leg 1 : B- (Meh :tantrum  All I can remember is Charla & Mirna gambling)
Leg 2 : B+  (The Twins VS Chip & Kim)
Leg 3 : A- (Mirna airport's moment and Charla got electrocuted  :funny:)
Leg 4 : A (Who can forget the disgusting Caviar and Charla & Mirna in the ice hockey gear  :funny:)
Leg 5 : A (Crazy flight drama  :cheer: Charla & Mirna sneaking off from everyone else at Midnight  :hearts:)
Leg 6 : B+ (Mirna dealing with the Goats  :funny:)
Leg 7 : A- (Colin & Christie VS Charla & Mirna  :luvya: , sad elimination of Charla & Mirna  :( )
Leg 8 : B (boring episode in this season, but still way better than the recent TAR epsidoes  (:;) )
Leg 9 : B+ (I don't like overcrowding India, the moments when bowling moms & Twins thinking they are last are hilarious  :funny:)
Leg 10 : A (extreme sports in New Zealand, the flight drama and Chip & Kim VS Twins again at the yield is so dramatic  :luvya: )
Leg 11 : A- (My ox is broken by Colin  :cheer: )
Leg 12 : A (Colin passing Karen at the roadblock, marking the stop of history making moment  :( )
Leg 13 : B+ (The Canada part is a bit boring)

Overall : A
Mostly because of Charla & Mirna. These two truly own the title of "drama queens" for the TAR history.
The dozen amount of flight drama also makes this season outstanding

Furthermore, the race course is finely designed to introduce the Money stripping penalty for being NEL
Every leg following a NEL is designed to minimize the need of money by either
(1) Being a self - driving leg / Transportation provided leg (Leg 10 New Zealand, Leg 12 El Nido)
(2) Being in a country with very low living standard (Leg 6 Egypt / Leg 9 India)

This will lower the adverse impact of having no money for the last place team, ensuring a more fair competition between teams  :luvya:
To conclude, I truly understand why everyone thinks Season 5 is the top of TAR history  :hearts:

Explanation
Explain the bad grades briefly please?
I literally had to pull up Wikipedia because I don't remember some of the legs.  :funny:
TARA 5:
Leg 1 :F
Double Elim (especially Lisa and Nicole). The leg was boring and uninspiring.
Leg 2: D
The roadblock killed this episode. I hated it.
Leg 3: C
Leg was good but I was bored. Also, some of the confessionals were not well edited. I felt some of them were cut off abruptly.
Leg 4: C
Leg was good but I was bored. Same as Leg 3.
Leg 5: A
Leg 6: A
Leg 7: C
Detour was not doing it for me. Of all the tasks in Singapore, they could have done the wave-rider again instead of hiding teams in a parking garage. :funny: The moving pitstop saved the episode.
Leg 8: B
Leg 9: D ( tasks saved the episode from F :groan:)
Finale:

If 3 FF teams make the final 3, I will give this season an A. :funny: (For reals)

I decided to watch TAR from Seasons 1-28 (plus international versions)

Here's my thoughts (SO FAR) for The Amazing Race 1

Cast:
Overall Rating: B- (A good variety I think. Shame I didn't see any super young 20 year-olds)

Leg 1: D- (Really didn't like the premiere episode. Terrible located, IMO)
Leg 2: C (Just abit better than Leg 1. Paris made it up)
Leg 3: C+ (A solid leg. Sad part was to see Pat and Brenda eliminated  :()
Leg 4: B+ (This was one of my favorite legs of the season. Crazy Tunisian chaos. Sad part was seeing Dave and Margahetta  :(. Hope Margahetta is resting in peace)
Leg 5: C- (Not sure why, but I just hated this episode. Far too many compass tasks and horrible Detour at the Star Wars location 😷)
Leg 6: B (LOVED the flight drama at airport. Rest of the leg was pretty much blegh)
Leg 7: C+ (I LOVED the roadblock and the pit stop. Hated how their was a detour for the first clue)
Leg 8: B+ (Second favorite leg of the season. Just going to Jaipur was  :colors)
Leg 9: C- (The worst of the Thailand legs. Such an easy FF and Detour. Stupid desicion by Team Guido to take the bus, instead of taxi. Nice pit stop)
Leg 10: A+ (BEST LEG OF THE SEASON! Great scenery, great tasks and a great leg!)
Leg 11: D (Not sure why I didn't like this leg.)
Leg 12: F (Please don't mention this leg to me, EVER! Such a waste of a leg.)
Leg 13: C+ (Not the best finale leg ever, but not bad for the first season)

Overall Season Rating: B-

Now, I'm off to watch Survivour: Borneo and then The Amazing Race 2 Can't wait!
