TAR 28 Pre-Race Discussion **Spoilers**
« on: July 28, 2015, 12:52:59 PM »
Let's try to limit this thread to discussion of actual leads or VERY strong spec based on reasons..

Team makeup, route, themes, all fair game under the above limits..

This is NOT the place to say I wish they would go to...use Wishlists for that.

Comments such as "X Country could be used/not used BECAUSE" are fine.

Wishlists/fantasy comments WILL be deleted.

Casting is proceeding, so let's all stay alert and watch social media closely for comments. As always, potential cast members should NOT be ID'd  publicly, just let me know if you spot anything. Thanks everyone!

They're getting ready to tape this already?  I thought the spring seasons don't tape till October or November!

Also, 28 hasn't officially been renewed by CBS yet.

28 WILL film. (sheesh, didn't I just finish saying this about 27??)  :<3

Planning and team selection is underway NOW. It takes MONTHS to pull together a route and a cast. So yes...it is NOT too early to discuss.

I can remember an Australian canceled leg on TAR 25, maybe? I don't know why they didn't make it for TAR 26 or 27. Maybe on TAR 28? I hope so, Oceania needs a visit!

I think about that canceled AUS leg too. I think it's originally will be in 24 (Melbourne?) and then it got scrapped by some reason. And I thought it's gonna be in 26 and nah. So maybe 28 will do it.

And I think there's some rumor about canceled Qatar/Bahrain leg from season 25 in Discussion Board? Any possibility? Also, I think they might wanna redo an Asian legs that got scrapped in this season (27). (HK/Macau seemed to be replacement too, right?)

I think HK/Macau was a weather related replacement...maybe for Beijing? ???

But there are many cancelled legs that we NEVER had replaced. So being cancelled is NO guarantee of being re-seen, sadly.

Because we never saw them..

Is it safe to say France and Netherlands won't get a visit in S28? I think it is

Why? Because they were visited on previous seasons? It doesn't matter, some countries had a visit in 3 seasons in a row so... we never know.
Btw, ofc I would like to not see those countries again, I prefer unvisited or few visited.

Oceania needs a visit-long overdue - Australia
More Asia legs- maybe Phillipines, Hong Kong, Beijing, Cambodia etc
New Asia Countries- Laos, Nepal
Maybe no Africa because it was visited for 4? seasons
Russia?
India could be a possibility.
More South America legs- Bolivia, etc.
Unearthing Prehistoric Spoilers since TAR Canada 2

For Africa, South Africa is way long overdue and gets another (last) chance to visit, it hasn't visited since season 7.

it could be the last time Africa will be visited for a fourth straight consecutive season.

We could have a possibility of a penultimate leg in Europe.
South America (including much of Latin America such as Caribbean and Central America) likely to be skipped, as we visited TAR26 and

TAR27
.
Maybe we'll taking the finale in the West Coast, as West Coast start to finish in westward route.

Since the last all-star was in Season 24, I think it is safe to assume that this upcoming season is NOT an all-star season.

That aside, maybe they will visit Australia & Oceania. The continent was last visited in TAR22.

If HK/Macau is a replacement leg,i think SK is the original leg

For S28,as MERS does not spread in SK anymore,SKhas the highest possibility

The last time we saw a Middle Eastern visit was season 23 (UAE). I think we may have the cancelled Qatar/Bahrain legs that were speculated in the TAR25 route. Thoughts?

Cancelled legs are rarely if ever rescheduled intact... too many variables I think. So doubtful.

And what was the basis for a spec missed leg in 25 in Qatar? ???

I believe I read about the spec during race filming on the specu-discussion threads somewhere when teams were actually en route to Singapore from Valletta.

I don't know if it was for TAR25, but Bertram did mention pulling out of Qatar at the last minute. It was in the THR Emmy Roundtable this year:

VAN MUNSTER I've pulled out of a country [Qatar] literally hours before filming.

As for the likely westward route, this would be a good time for an Australia/NZ opening Leg(s) with a few Asian Legs toward the middle of the Race.

Africa has had 3 seasons in a row, and South America 2, so I'd guess both of them might get overlooked.  I have to think that Australia would be first up (if an LA start), and then trapsing through Asia and Europe before heading home.  Would love to see those Qatar legs.  Fascinating stuff.  What were the replacement legs in season 25...Morocco? Or Singapore?

Wow Qatar!  :ascared Could the replacement leg be Malta? ??? Maybe TAR is aiming for one new country each season from TAR25 onwards, so I think there will still be a new country visited by TAR28.

South Korea has declared a "de facto end" to the MERS outbreak and can hopefully be "MERS free" by September.

So Korea is likely available for TAR28.

Wow!!! SoKor will be great for TAR28 and its summer right there for a tight November filming date which that country is at the peak of autumn season. Along with that, Vietnam is also likely for TAR28 as well and that country get a chance to visit Central Vietnam, hasn't visited since TAR3 and was done recently by international versions. I prefer South Korea and Vietnam are the two Asian countries to be visited.
