Hollywood Reporter has a new Emmy roundtable with the reality heavyweights and of course Bertram is part of it.  It's a good, long read:
http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/mark-burnett-julie-chen-nigel-803049

He says some good stuff, including once pulling out of Qatar hours before filming.  But maybe the most interesting tidbit is this:
Quote
When they get to the point when they're "the worst people," do you step in? What does that look like?

VAN MUNSTER There were two brothers who were pretty nasty. I tell contestants up-front: "These [camera] guys are your friends; they'll run with you, but they're not going to help you." They're hard-working guys and don't get the million bucks. They run around the globe with a 50-pound camera.

So, who could those two brothers be?  :spy:

Marshall & Lance maybe? The ones who called Mirna a bitch and got a mini-cameo on All-Stars writing them a letter? lol

I agree it was probably one of the pizza brothers in season 5. The older one most likely.

I believe they have to be somebody who appear to be nice for us but nasty for the real competition.

Brothers...hmm...i don't believe it's Jet & Cord since they looked like they got along with everyone, specially in TAR18.

My pick is Mark & Michael.

Yes they were.  :)

Another possibility could be the twins from TAR20,  Elliot & Andrew.  Their opening credits moment was them throwing their backpack in anger (lol), plus they were #TeamVanessaArtJJ vs the "nice" people (Nary & Jamie/Mopper/Cousins/Brenchel)

sorry off-topic but brenchel are not nice.

For all you know it could be Sam and Dan. But doubt it's Derek and Drew, Erwin and Godwin etc.

More chance for it to be MARSHALL AND LANCE THOUGH.

I hated Charla and Mirna but hated these two more.

Sam/Dan was actually nice before Maria/Tiffany elimination. I think their alliance were kinda cute. But then after Amsterdam... So I don't think it's them.

Probably Marshall/Lance, obnoxious quitter. :res: Can't even stand them on TV so I doubt the production can tolerate them.

acting like being victimized don't make them any better than whine/connor and their gang. or vanessa and ralph and their gang. i think rachel needs to stop playing the pity card, otherwise i actually think they're a decent team. look at how rachel encouraged luke <3 but brenchel as a whole are not the nicest team i can think of. what i would consider nice would be kris/jon SO..........

and back to topic, but then if TAR hates them so much they wouldn't ask marshall and lance to write a letter to charla and mirna right?

didn't they have a nice letter written to them? i remembered reading somewhere that each team had two letters and charla and mirna happened to find marshall and lance's letter.

Quote
The Roadblock in Leg 4 required one team member to find one of two letters addressed to their team, written by one of the other teams from their season. The two letters for each team would actually come from different teams instead of the same one in both letters. Past racers involved in writing the letters for the All-Star teams had also written letters for the teams eliminated prior to the leg.

if i'm not wrong i read that chip/kim or the bowling moms wrote the other letter hmmmmm #offtopic #majorofftopic

You have to remember here everyone that 'nice' and 'nasty' teams are largely concepts that are brought to us through the storytelling and editing of the production team.

In fact, if BVM had to step in it's entirely likely that the incident never showed up on camera, so it really could be any brother team.

In the TAR 7 DVD commentary, Brian and Greg briefly talk about getting frustrated because their camera man couldn't keep up with them when they ran, so it could easily be them just as much as anyone else.

Also keeping in mind that the confrontations he is referring to were directed at the camera/sound team so that just makes it even more likely to not be something you saw on television.

Really, when it comes down to it, we have to think of reasons a team would get frustrated with the crew, and those are likely to be related to getting in the way, or not being able to keep up.
